George came the very next day after I had called for information. He was extremely friendly and knowledgable. George brought all materials necessary to get the job done and his prices were competitive. He is very thorough and meticulous, regarding safety as a top priority. George went above and beyond, even so far as to better program our TV and remote! We will be recommending George to friends and family and will definitely use his services again!

We had TV removed from wall. Needed someone to attach TV to original stand, place components in new TV unit and re-attach cabling to components. Called George on Friday explaining what needed to be done and that the furniture unit was being delivered on Saturday between Noon and 3:00pm. He said when delivery is in the home to contact him which I did. He came within the hour. Did everything necessary to get TV in unit and get everything connected.. he did a very good job. Not only did he make sure the TV was working properly, he cheerfully offered to adjust the other TV in my guest bedroom and then went down to my husband's man cave and adjusted his other TV. I would definitely recommend George. Knows his stuff, patient and professional.

I called Gjl services after having a problem with a prior installer.said he call me back in a hour.and when he called me back.he was able to come over in a couple hours.and install my flat screen tv.and fix the problem from the prior installer.he was great.very professional and personable.he even spend the time to set up my new LG TV and show me how to work it.it show that he take pride in his work.can not ask more then that.thank you very munch George.

This was my first time using Angies List to find someone to perform work on my home. I just recently purchased a new home and the previous owner had the upstairs wired for sound and the downstairs he had a home theater set up. I had some really nice electronics that I wanted to use so I started my search for someone fairly local that can do this type of work. I did my research and finally came upon George from GJL. From my initial call to him I can tell that George knew his stuff and more impressively I can tell that he really enjoys what he does. I told him that I was on a tight schedule and that I was looking to have the work done ASAP due to the fact that I needed to return back to work a few days later and with the moving I would be all over the place. He guaranteed me that he would come to check out the place to see what would be needed and to provide an estimate. The following day George came by(on time) and took a look at my components and the space. Typically this would be the time that someone in his line of work would start in on how challenging the work will be and that you don't have the right stuff but miraculously they can get you the right stuff for a ton of money. Thankfully George was the opposite he told me that the stuff I had would sound awesome and that I didn't need anything additional, while that was great news I was still nervous about the estimate. Again he did not disappoint, he quoted me $400 to do the whole job, I was blown away I thought for sure it would be double that. He agreed to come out the next day and get it started as he knew I would be having company over for football Sunday.George was having problems with his work truck but showed up in his personal truck(hardcore dedication). Truth be told I told I was just impressed that he didn't pull the usual drag out the work because something better came along. He ended up doing all the work plus programmed my tv to really optimize the home theater experience which he didn't have to do. He worked clean and really took his time( probably at least 6 hrs) and I was blown away by his work, my system sounded awesome as he promised it would. When he was done I paid him and I told him how happy I was and how fair he was with me price wise. He told me that someone he had met when he first started doing this( 26 years earlier) told him that if you price yourself right you'll always have work and that there are too many guys that want to hit home runs on every deal because they don't want to work everyday and that those guys never make it long term. I would not hesitate to recommend George to anyone and would definitely use him again for any other related needs.

I had a very unfortunate experience with a home theatre system installer who had been recommended to me by the carpenter who made my built-in cabinets. He began work in mid-January and came to my home three times, each time claiming the equipment was faulty and instructing me that it needed to be returned to the manufacturer to be repaired or replaced. I finally obtained a refund and bought a different system. Once the new equipment arrived im early May, he continuously claimed to be far too busy to do my installation, and never kept the appointments he made. On June 1st, I began to search for a new installer. Many of the advertised experts were out of business, including several I found on Angie's list. Two told me my project was and quot;too smalland quot; for them to bother with. I finally found an ad for GJL in a local newspaper. I called on June 1st, and the owner, George Sokolowski, took my phone number in order to call me back. After years of giving my number to service providers who never called me back (or never showed up for appointments they made with me), I was pleasantly surprised to hear back from George that same day, after normal business hours (which impressed me). He made an appointment for the next day (a Saturday) between 10 and 11, and arrived as promised.. He began by attempting to assemble the speaker stands I had purchased, only to discover that essential parts were missing and one of the footings had been mis-drilled and couldn't be assembled at all. Taking this in his stride and with great good humor, he got a drill and other assorted equipment from his truck, fixed all of the problems and went on to begin installation of the home theatre system, which had been wired through the built-in cabinets when they were installed and thus not easy to work with. He corrected the wiring and other mistakes that had been made by the first installer, quickly and professionally put the system together and stayed to ensure that everything worked. Although the speaker stand problem had taken up far more time than he could ever have expected, he never complained about the inconvenience and instead took the time to adjust the sound to perfection and re-balance the picture and color on not just the system TV set but another TV set as well. Not content with all of that, he also set up a second much older DVD player in another room, moving furniture to get to the electrical outlet. George was punctual, professional, personable, very hard-working and a pleasure to have in my home. He knows his business inside and out and his knowledge and creative problem solving are truly impressive. I would hire him again in a New York minute and recommend him to anyone without any hesitation at all . I know he also sells, services and installs satellite, surveillance and phone systems and I just wish his services included roofing, house painting,HVAC, gardening, etc. If all service providers were half as good as George is, there would be a lot less frustration in the world and a great deal more satisfaction. I would rate GJL Services, Inc. an A-plus plus.
