Blacktop Unlimited

Had full driveway converted from old concrete to blacktop and a path put around my back shed done. Took me a long time and diligence to decide on the contractor. Very happy now I went with Blacktop Unltd. Its been a couple of years and I had them come back to reseal this year for maintenance which was a nominal cost. I have referred them to 2 neighbors who have since used them and are happy with the results.

I contacted Blacktop unlimited back in May of 2023, to seal my blacktop driveway, fix a few cracks and set border pavers. I approved the estimate and work was to begin in approximately 2 weeks. When I didn't hear back from them after 2 weeks, I followed up and was told I should be hearing from the mason shortly. 3 weeks later and I had not been contacted so I reached out via email for a status. I didn't get a response after 10 days, so I followed up again and was told the paving crew was quite booked. This was mid-July. So I waited, and in October 2023, I reached out again via email. The mason finally contacted me and scheduled the work for the next day. He never showed the next day. The following week, I cancelled the work to be performed by Blacktop Unlimited. Very unprofessional.

They were punctual which is very hard to find. They sealed the entire parking lot in the time they told us they would. When we had some additional areas we were questioning they came back the filled them in and sealed them again the next day.

this needs to be separated into 2 parts: work crew and office CREW - They arrived on time and completed the work in a timely fashion. The company seems well capitalized as they arrive with several trucks and a full crew. The workers were approachable, professional, and willing to any my questions. The basic instructions were not to drive on the driveway for 1 week and not to park on it for 2 weeks. I am into the 2nd week, have driven on the driveway, and all seems fine. OFFICE - I made the initial request through Angie's List to the company. After about 1 week, I received an Email from Angie's list suggesting a different provider since I had not yet heard back from Blacktop Unlimited. A few days after, I received an estimate and i agreed to the proposal for replacement. I was not notified about the on-site estimate, but phone messages were left almost daily after the estimate was Emailed to me. Once I agreed, I was notified by IM that they had set the appointment without first contacting me with their available dates. I had to scramble to get time off from work with very little notice and to arrange street parking privileges with my Village on the day of the job. I would have appreciated being contacted by the office and been able to review the particulars of the job , as well the timing of the job person to person.

I have used this company several times in the past for blacktop seal coating, blacktop installation, power washing, and most recently for a large driveway paver job. They have always been prompt, neat and professional. I was amazed how quickly the paver job was completed and I was thrilled with the results. I could not recommend a contractor more highly.

We have been using Blacktop Unlimited for over 10 years. Anthony put our driveway in and has kept it looking beautiful year after year by seal coating it. The Blacktop staff from the guys that come to work to the office staff have always been very cheerful, informative, answer all my questions and concerns and always make sure I understand the answers given. If you are looking for a trustworthy company that has great prices, does beautiful work and a pleasure to deal with Blacktop Unlimited is your company. I highly recommend them to friends and family as I will continue to use them every year.

A couple of months later it started cracking and I called him back. He said he would come back and only charge me what it cost him, which was a couple of hundred dollars for materials. He was a very nice person. He was very courteous. The fact that I have been using him for three years in a row resulted in him giving me 10-percent of the money back. He said it was a discount for being loyal so he is a good guy.

They called me prior to first date due to a rain forecast which was true and would have caused problems with the re-seal(not enough time to dry). They re-scheduled, showed up on time ( I was at work) and left the bill in my mailbox( no prepayment, only after work was done). Work was well done and neat. Previous supplier had left splatter on my garage door. Very satisfied with all aspects of their work.
