Description of Work: We had a problem with ridge vents and needed to have them replaced. This company has installed the roof and ridge vents. The time is took from initial contact to return calls, to estimates to return calls, etc. resulted in a mid-line review. The work appears to be fine.

I went with the first person who could come to my house to help with the ice damming. Also asked for a quote for a new roof. Was quoted $200 for the ice on the phone. The crew was unlike any people I have had work on my house. Someone was laying on the roof sunning themself, people were smoking on the roof, on the phone while on the roof.... channels were cut in the ice and it did help. The forperson said they would be back to deliver my quote for a new roof but I never got a quote. The price was also $400. When I said it was $200 on the phone I was told it took longer than they thought and it was 200 each hour. they were here for 1.5 hours. Shame on me for jumping at the first response.....

Kimberly Brown & crew worked over a weekend, in mostly bad weather, to remove & then replace the old roof, work that needed to be done before winter set in. They also added insulation in the attic, & cleaned my gutters when they were done. As well as being skilled at what they do, they were prompt, professional & courteous in their work & enjoyable to have on the property. Kimberly herself was present & active in the work being done, in making sure her crew had what they needed so there would be no delays & in supervising the work so that it was efficiently done. They cleaned up the property at the end of each day & then did a very thorough cleaning after the job was done. I would heartily recommend them to anyone I knew in need of the services Kimberly Brown Roofing provides.

They were pretty fair. I didn't get the chances to compare their services with anybody else. We were trying to get some information for the bank. They were inspecting the house from the outside so we didn't have to be home so I had no contact with them personally. We were okay with the price we just couldn't go forward. We did talk to them on the phone and it was a good response and we felt comfortable. It was pretty quick. It was not a problem with them, it was mostly with our bank.

It went very well, especially since the work was completed during a rainy Upstate spring. When you hire Kimberly Brown, you get her extended family and friends. Kimberly herself is cooperative and enthusiastic and pays attention to details. Her crew members were cheerful, professional, and very, very neat, cleaning up completely at the end of each work day. They were also creative and flexible in dealing with any problems that arose. Kimberly is no absentee boss: she was on the job site each day. She has connections with other tradespeople who installed new gutters and drywall. Kimberly and her recommended tradespeople share the habit of quickly returning calls and adhering to schedules. In early winter, before we had contracted for her services, Kimberly came to our home to assess the situation and provide us with advice on how to minimize damages caused by ice jams. This was at a time when some other roofers were reluctant to visit. Kimberly describes many things as "awesome." That's an accurate description of her performance as a roofing contractor.
Description of Work: Brown roofers did a complete tear down of three layers of shingles, approximately eight decades of wear, dust, and decay. Then they built a new roof from scratch.

Ms. Brown met with us a few days after my call and had the estimate done within a few days. The work was completed the next week in one long day. I was very happy to have the roof work completed in such a timely manner. The team showed up on time with their work trailer and also a dumpster. The shingles were promptly delivered as well. We requested they park their personal vehicles around the corner because the side street we are on is very narrow and barely allows 2 cars to pass. No problem. Everyone accommodated us promptly. Some unanticipated problems occurred. It was discovered that the original builder used thin, inferior plywood, and our former roofer added a third layer without proper flashing and drip edging. Instead of replacing a few rotten sections of wood, we opted to replace it all. Ms. Brown had no problem accommodating us, went to get additional plywood, and the job continued until completion that evening. Ms. Brown is very knowledgable, was able to answer all questions about our roof, and is fun and easy to work with. The Brown team members are young, polite and efficient. Rachel cleaned up our garage and gardens to perfection and we were so appreciative. We now have a beautiful, solid, new roof to replace our old, sagging one, and would not hesitate to recommend Kimberly Brown Roofing to our family and friends. Thanks, Kim ! Job well done.

Kimberly Brown did an excellent job of tearing off all three layers of old roofing material and replacing it with new. The weather did not cooperate at all, yet she did complete this rather large house/garage project in less time than she had originally predicted. She always called in the morning if the crew was not coming due to the weather or showed up on time if the weather was favorable. The crew, under her direction, worked quickly and efficiently, and everyone seemed to get along very well. They honored my request of no smoking and no loud music at the job site. At the end of each day, the site was cleaned up as best they could, and at the end of the job, the area was CLEAN! Since the crew packed up and left, Kimberly has called several times and has returned once to take care of a little item for us. It sounds trite, but she really went above and beyond the call of duty, exceeded our expectations. By the way, she even shingled our birdhouse! She is a businesswoman to be respected and admired.

The roof was leaking. Kimberly came by, gave an estimate quite a bit lower than another one I had, and recognized that it was a near-emergency so she moved us up on her schedule. A dumpster was delivered the night before, and the crew came early the next morning and did the whole job in less than a day. They also repaired the gutters which were sagging.

Kimberly and her crew are extremly professional and responsive. She came out on a Sunday to evaluate and estimate the job, and without my giving her any information, she immediately determined the problem to be our previous contractor's poor workmanship. Our roof was leaking into our hall closet, causing mold and carpet damage. She came back the next day to repair it, which only took a short time. After my husband tore down the drywall in the closet, we noticed one other place that the roof was leaking. She came back the following Sunday to repair it, and was extremely professional, responsive, and pleasant to work with. I would recommend her to ANYONE!!!! Thanks, Kimberly!

Our house is over 100 years old and has "special needs", to put it mildly. Kimberly Brown was one of 5 quotes we received for a replacement roof. Kimberly was very pleasant and straight-forward during the estimate. During our decision-making process we contacted her several times to ask additional questions and to inquire whether she could make some changes to the estimate that we felt would benefit our roof. She was very agreeable and cooperative and we eventually decided to hire her. When deciding upon a single color, we called Kimberly numerous times to ask for houses she had shingled with the colors that we liked. She was always available and gracious in looking up past jobs she had done to find ones with the shingles that we liked so we could see how they looked in the "real world". She never seemed to get tired of our questions or requests. Kimberly originally told us she had a 2-3 week lead time, so we were pleasantly surprised when she started within a few days after we returned the signed contract! Our roof is somewhat unusual in shape and design, but her crew handily cut new plywood to fit where needed, and even repaired a badly damaged fascia board. They also added baffles to aid with ventilation, plus some ridge vents where none had existed before. She even agreed to shingle the roof of a 4'x8' shed that's attached to our house at no extra charge! Plus, they added a cricket to our chimney to help prevent water and ice damage, which is something I wasn't even familiar with but they just did it anyway because it was the right thing to do. Kimberly's crew took care to protect our windows, driveway, and any plants next to the house with tarps, chipboard, and plywood before tearing off the old shingles. They also protected our neighbors' driveways and windows likewise. During the job I was frequently in contact with Kimberly via cell phone, or visiting the house during my lunch hour to check in on them. Kimberly made sure I was kept informed of their progress and any issues that they found. The entire job took 3-1/2 days and the end result looks great! During their work, they removed the flashing from around our chimney and discovered the bricks underneath were badly damaged. So they worked around the area while I called a chimney repair person. Kimberly was then kind enough to call the chimney repair person herself and coordinate the repair so that I wouldn't have to relay messages between them. Due to weather considerations and other scheduling conflicts, the only day the chimney repair could take place was on a Friday, and it needed to cure for 24 hours before it was flashed again. That meant Kimberly had to come back on a Saturday (normally her day off) with one of her crew members to complete the chimney flashing job. Above and beyond the call of duty! Finally, Kimberly noticed that the truck which delivered the dumpster had left tire marks on our new concrete driveway. So she arranged to have the dumpster company come back and power wash the driveway to remove the tire marks. Great! All in all, I can't say enough good things about Kimberly and her crew. They work hard and are conscientious about protecting property, cleaning up after themselves, and adding those little extras where needed, not because they can charge extra for them but because it's the right thing to do. Do them a favor and do what we did: provide them with a cooler full of cold sports drinks and bottled water! They'll love you for it!

Kimberly was extraordinarily professional. She returned my call quickly, set up an appointment, and called again when she was on the way.She brought 2 employees, and all three inspected and repaired the shingles. She explained the cause of the problem, and did not try to talk me into other extensive repairs that she did not feel were necessary. When I asked what I owed her, she said "nothing", but I felt it was fair to pay something ($40) for gas.
Description of Work: After another company was a no-call no-show to inspect loose shingles and give me a repair estimate, so I called Kimberly because I remembered the good job she and her crew did on my neighbor's house.
