Chuck was very responsive and scheduled the inspection within days. He was very thorough and discussed potential issues with me every step of the way. His report was 30 pages long, which was delivered within 24 hrs, with content that included conditions and recommendations on items discussed in the walk thru for every part of the house. excellent. from the moment of contact, Chuck was exemplary. Above Grade covers all of your inspection needs. Chuck responded before any other inspector and was able to schedule our appointment within the week. i immediately told Chuck that i planned to treat our inspection as an educational moment and he basically turned it into a class. he explained his notes thoroughly and why they mattered. he made it a point to discuss common emergencies and how to halt them. he recommended a fantastic book that breaks down how home systems work. i was very inquisitive and he really seemed to enjoy sharing his knowledge. our appointment was at 1230 on a Wednesday and our initial report was a sent the very next morning. Radon results and Water are all i had to wait for. Chuck has continued to answer my questions about the results and has remained amazingly polite and professional. he has been exceptionally helpful and kind. he appears to truly love what he does. he treats you like a friend. i strongly recommend Above Grade for your home inspection. you will not be disappointed.

Chuck is the man! As a first time homebuyer (with an admittedly hefty dose on anxiety about the process), we felt totally comfortable with Chuck. He arrived early, scoped out the house to collect his initial thoughts, took his time walking through every floor and room. All the while, Chuck explained to us both positives and negatives about his observations, and provided potential solutions. He compiled a comprehensive report with photos while answering our questions and cracking hilarious jokes to make this all less scary. By the end of our time with Chuck we had a full report in our inbox! Couldn't recommend him more for a top to bottom inspection. He's a great guy too!

Chuck was very professional and knowledgeable. He was also very flexible when it came to scheduling the inspection since we were dependent on the sellers to get a plumber to the house before Chuck arrived to de-winterize it so that everything could be tested. Throughout the inspection he kept us informed of what he was doing and explained how things work. The report was ready the following day and Chuck offered to answer any questions we may have anytime.

Chuck was great ! Very accurate . Took pictures. Checked entire house from top to bottom . Explained everything as he was going along. He is so detailed in his Report, and he had Report ready within 24 hours. We had a 24 page report. We couldn't believe the amount of info we were getting . I would highly recommend his company.

Chuck was very responsive to my calls. I called him on Monday and he came Thursday, he would have been there Tuesday but I took too long to get back to him and he booked another appointment. He showed up on time and was very thorough and professional. He was extremely helpful, I would definitely hire him again or recommend him. I took my time to review this since I wanted to educate my self more on home inspection. There are many issues that brought to my attention by others since he completed his inspection which was never mentioned in his report. Very unhappy that someone who knows what needs to be done failed to do so. Specially to customers who are trying to purchase a home where a great deal of money involved. I can do a better inspection than him just by googling common facts. I never should've hired him in the first place.

It went very well. They were not best buddies with our realtor in fact they don't even know them and that is why we picked him. We have had inspections in the past and you can tell the realtor has a relationship and it made us very weary. I feel like this was the most detailed inspection we have ever received. I had many questions and never felt like things were being rushed. He really took the time to go over everything with me and then wrote it out in the report as well. He has also been great on following up with questions and pointing us in the direction of other professionals we need. We would highly recommend them!

Chuck Sweed was beyond professional, Showed up on time ready to go, he was very knowledgable and detail oriented. took away the fear of a first time home inspection, having no prior knowledge of how a well and septic system function he answered every question i had In detail. Every single feature/function of the home was tested. Couldn't be happier with the way the day went, as a whole would I recommend chuck 100% yes.

We were present for the home inspection, as were the owners, and he dealt with the owners and the existing clutter with patience. He was thorough, and gave us some details that will be very helpful to a couple of first-time homeowners. He did a radon test and the water dye test, but was forthcoming that the dye test isn't particularly useful, so he recommended an additional septic inspection. We weren't present for the septic inspection, but he found a crushed pipe that saved us a couple of hundred bucks in future repairs. The owners fixed it prior to the sale, and I'm glad it didn't become our problem. Chuck is communicative and follows through on his promises.

Chuck is a great inspector and individual. Not only was he professional, but he was extremely thorough on what is really going on with properties. His knowledge and experience is definitely seen through his insights. He does not do Septic Inspection himself, but works with an awesome inspector that handles this for him. If it wasn't for him, we would've lost a lot of money on a project. If you want to see what is under the rock, do not hesitate and call Chuck! He is welcoming and willing to help always.

We decided, after a long time and great deliberation, to purchase a house on a lake. We found a house that was an absolute wreck and needed a very reliable home inspector to give us a true appraisal of whether or not it was feasible to renovate it to an acceptable level. We found Chuck of Above Grade on Angie's List. His reviews were stellar and we decided to put our lives in his hands, so to speak. Chuck was able to fit us in a in a very reasonable amount of time. He checked this house very thoroughly and finally pronounced it a "pretty girl in a dirty dress." He had a lot of ideas on how we could improve it and also had a lot of patience as we trailed after him, asking questions about everything. He promptly gave us a well written, thorough report, with pictures and great detail on this house. He also assured us he was available via phone for questions, and he was. Then we found another house! and it is perfect we love it! but it needed to be inspected very quickly or we might lose it! Chuck was able to inspect it for us, on July 4th with just about a day's notice. This required a great deal of machinations on his part and we appreciated it. This time we were not able to be present for the inspection. He called us promptly when he was done and patiently explained to us what he had found (and we are complete idiots when it comes to this type of stuff, it required a great deal of patience.) Again, a promptly received, detailed, well written report came promptly. I feel very confident in what he found, it was all written in a professional manner that could be easily presented to our realtor to be given to the homeowner.

Chuck was very punctual. He thoroughly inspected every inch of the home during a thunderstorm to say the least. Even after a positive radon test Chuck gave me some much needed and assuring advice on how to remediate the issue. Chuck met me at the location and conducted a thorough inspection of this residence in every room from the attic to the basement and the property surrounding the location. He left no stone unturned. There were so many hazards in the house that he detected including serious problems with an eroding cliff in back of the house. Chuck is so knowledgeable in every aspect of home inspections. Chuck did a great job. He inspected a late 19th century house from top to bottom, thoroughly examining every aspect that was accessible to him. Chuck recommends that you have a checklist of your own concerns at the start and go with him every step of the way with a notebook. It was incredibly informative, like having a 2.5-hour workshop with a "house doctor." Chuck clearly enjoys his work, totally knows his stuff, has a welcome sense of humor, and really cares about his customer. In this case, the house had such serious flaws in its electrical system that we had to abandon ship. But far better to be disappointed than saddled with a terrible and expensive problem. Chuck even checked in with me the next morning by phone to talk things over. Can't recommend him more highly, and since we didn't buy that house I will most definitely work with Chuck again.

Chuck arrived very promptly and had a great personality. Chuck gave a very thorough inspection of the whole house and provided tips and tricks for us that were outside his scope of work. He made the home inspection process an educational and informative experience instead of just a walk through of this is wrong and why. Chuck made sure that he went through each piece of the inspection and gave reasons to why he did each test and what could help. As we went through each piece, Chuck gave us his recommendations on parts of the house and different ideas he has picked up from his many years experience. It helped me look at the house in a different light and made me envision other ideas that were not originally a thought in my head. I just moved into my home and needed a radon mitigation system installed. Chuck and his brother Bill installed the system for me. These are great guys who do great work and I would highly recommend using them. They were on time, really friendly and charged me a very fair price for the quality job they did. They thoroughly explained to me what the system does and how it works. On top of doing a great job on the radon mitigation install, Bill even came back to my home the next day and fixed my leaky toilet for me. I just mentioned that it was leaking while they were installing the system and he offered to take a look for me and went ahead and fixed it. I can't say enough good things about these guys. I would be happy to use their services again if needed. I decided to go with this company based on all the great reviews they have gotten on Angie's list and I'm very glad that I did!

Called to schedule service on Sunday (2/21) and was able to have a house inspected on Tuesday (2/23). Chuck was on time and began inspecting right away. Chuck was very thorough in his inspection and openly communicated concerns with the home. He is very experienced and knowledgable of buyer concerns. Within 24 hours, I received a report via email. Report included pictures and a detailed analysis of the home.

When you have your life savings on the line, you want someone with integrity who will tell you like it is. That is exactly what we got with Chuck who did a through job of explaining and educating my wife and I on a property we were serious about investing in. Chuck found some serious issues with the structural integrity of the property and also noted other issues that would need to be resolved.
