 + -1 moreI used them twice. Both time went great. Its affordable and the blinds are very high quality. Paul will help you with options and colors. One home we did all wood, and it looked amazing. The second house was just done around Christmas time and we did different styles. They all look and work great. The installer was on time, fast and he did a great job! He even cleaned up all of his mess, which most contractors forget those small details... I appreciate how awesome they are!!

 + -1 moreHe showed up at the scheduled time, came into the kitchen, looked at the frayed cords, and said, "you should take them down and take them to Vertical Elegance in Fairport". I was disappointed in the fact that he could have told me this on the phone as I had described exactly what needed done, and I have my receipt from 2014 when they were replaced by him. I don't understand why he bothered coming to my house, making an appointment, just to tell me to take them down and take them to another company. Just one more thing to add to my To Do list. On the positive side, he showed me (I went and got a screwdriver and stood on a chair), how to snap them off from the top using a screwdriver. So I will take them off myself, and take them to Vertical Elegance.
Description of Work: I needed new cord loops for tall windows from kitchen to deck as they ones he installed in 2014 were fraying badly.

Description of Work: Got new windows installed of a different size. Wanted new blinds. Called Budget Blinds and set up an appointment to measure and look at designs. No pressure to buy. After checking prices to do myself felt that the cost and quality, and guarantee was worth the price. It took 2-3 weeks for the customs blinds to ship. Appointment was set up for installation. The employee that did it was very quick and neat. Have one more window to do and will use them again.

 + -1 moreI had my shades made and installed in 2013 and recently put a gash in one of them. I called Paul Wood at BB and explained what I had done and he immediately ordered me a new shade! There is a one time lifetime guarantee with these shades. So there is no charge for the replacements. I had a similar incident in a previous home, and he replaced that shade for no charge. BB guarantee is by far the best I have ever seen or experienced! Paul Wood is punctual, very precise and neat.

 + -1 moreEverything went according to plan -- with the exception of the and quot;Enlightened Styleand quot; and quot;Single Cell Shades - we had these put in the master bedroom, guest room, and the kids rooms. When raising and lowering the blinds at least several times per week,there is an odd sound that the cords make. This originally prompted a question of Paul after installation concerning the durability. Something along the lines of and quot;is that sound normaland quot; which we were assured at the time it was. Fast forward to this weekend -- one of the units in my daughters room has ceased functioning. It will and quot;closeand quot; by which I mean show the window and allow light in about 60% of the way. The shade remains and quot;downand quot; about 40% and no amount of pulling and pushing to and quot;resetand quot; the roller housed in the top of the shade will allow it to reset itself. These shades ran about $159 per unit. Shades at BB's website: http://www.budgetblinds.com/brands/enlightened-style-window-coverings/ I believe this is the type of shade from the MFR website: http://www.enlightenedstyle.com/es-products/honeycomb-shades-details The MFR supposedly has a committment to satisfaction, which I will say at this point is severely reduced: http://www.enlightenedstyle.com/ 9/24/14 Update - 4 business days have passed since we reached out to Paul, and our messages have so far gone UNRETURNED. It is a cell phone and one of the times I heard the telltale beeps letting me know he was on the other line. I don't blame him for not taking my call immediately, but please return the message! Somewhat resigned to disappointment at this point. I will keep checking back here, if for no other reason than to advise and update. I have scaled back both responsiveness and professionalism from B to C.

Description of Work: Although my window treatments were (eventually) installed to my satisfaction, I probably would not use Budget Blinds again and would advise others to try other suppliers. Unfortunately, the options for window treatment providers in the Canandaigua area are limited. | |After initial difficulty getting hold of Budget Blinds, I was eventually contacted by David Wood who promptly came to our house and measured for blinds & shutters. That was on October 29. I was a bit disappointed at the quoted waiting time for delivery & installation (4 weeks) and the requirement that I pay a 60% deposit. That seemed a bit steep, but I agreed as I wanted to get the process underway. About a week later we added another item to our order and were not charged an additional deposit, so the revised deposit worked out to about 38%. | |The blinds and shutters were installed on December 3rd - 5 weeks later. I would not have a problem with the extra wait if everything had been perfect, but there were some disappointments: | |The shutters for our library were the wrong size. There was a big gap where the two shutters did not meet on one of the windows. Also, I had specifically asked for cafe type shutters where the bottom & top halves could be opened separately. Apparently this was a misunderstanding and I was told it would take another 4 weeks to reorder. Fortunately I was only charged the additional cost for this type of shutter. | |I was quite disappointed with the wood blinds installed in our guest bedroom & bathroom. They seemed to be of poor quality and the valance stuck out further than I had envisioned. I thought the installation would be inside the window frame, but this was not the case. | |The Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades ordered for the master bedroom are perfect and I have no complaints with the installation. | |At this point I pad (by credit card) an additional 30% of the total cost of the blinds & shutters. A few days later I discovered that my credit card had been double charged. I asked for a credit and was told it would be forthcoming. Four weeks later I was still waiting for the credit. | |On January 8th, the correct Library shutters were installed. They are lovely and I am very satisfied with them. I appreciate that Budget Blinds "guarantees" your satisfaction and in the end I was satisfied (although I'm still not thrilled with the cheap wood blinds). My final payment was minimal due to the double charge and large deposit. So everything worked out OK in the end with the following caveats: |- the whole process took far too long |-there seems to be a communications problem, although I will accept part of the blame for that |- unless you know exactly what you are ordering you may be disappointed with the quality |- I'm not convinced that Budget Blinds offers really competitive prices. Based on a review of window coverings offered on Blinds.com I think I would have done better if I'd ordered exactly what I wanted online and paid someone to install them.

Description of Work: We bought blinds for our new family room. This included 4', 6' and 10' windows plus a 6' door opening to the dining room. They came in and made all measurements, helped with style and color selection and did a very professional installation.

 + -1 moreEverything went well. Two of the shades were cut to the incorrect size. Paul took them with him and had the correct ones sent. This happened to be right around x-mas so it took a bit to get the replacements. As soon as they arrived Paul was back to install. The windows look great.

The Budget Blinds website requested my contact information for which I filled in on 3 separate occasions over a 3 week period but no one contacted me (either by phone or email). The website alo lists the franchise owner's name (Paul Wood) and phone number- I called him and left a voicemail message 3 days ago...I have not heard from him yet. It is very frustrating to not hear back, I guess they don't need my business, therefore I will not be doing business with Budget Blinds. I can appreciate why Paul was not able to respond to my initial requests. He eventually contacted me and we were able to set up an appointment. He measured my windows, was able to give me several options along with pricing. I have ordered blinds for my windows and will have them installed by Paul once they come in.

 + -1 morePaul Wood, Budge Blinds Co-Owner, in both instances, promptly came to my home for our appointments. His knowledge and advice were invaluable to me in choosing the best type of window treatments for my home, the colors offered, the costs, etc. This was one of the best consumer experiences ever that I have had. Paul Wood was so gracious and so professional and so nice a person and the product so very good, that I wonder now why I waited so long to have this work done. Within 3 -4 weeks in both instances the installation was completely done as scheduled and the cleanup was perfect and all areas of work were made spotless. And the cost of my new window treatments were great! Paul, even on both occasions, honored the discounts Budget Blinds offered and advertised both on material and labor. In sum, anyone who wants shutters, wood blinds, draperies, shades,faux wood blinds, etc., would be and quot;crazyand quot; not to contact Budget Blinds and its co-owner Paul Wood to see what it/he offer first. And again, I repeat, that this was a great consumer experience for me and the work completed has made my home that much more appealing!!!! I am toatally satisfied with the product, the person, the installation and the cleanup. What more could one ask for?
Description of Work: On 08/12/2011 I had installed Signature Series 2" paprika/ember colored wood blinds in my den (family room) and powder room. On 03/15/2013 Budget Blinds installed in my kitchen Signature Series 3/4 " single cell shades (somerset cashmere color).for the two windows there. All was done exceptionally well and all rooms look beautiful with these new window treatments!

 + -1 moreDavid showed us a lot of choices, and found out information when I wanted to the "R" value for the blinds we purchased. He knew the product and the product is guaranteed for as long as we own the home. They did everything: the measuring, putting up the blinds, etc. They gave us choices in different price ranges. The price was higher than what we have used before when we would put in our own blinds, but the quality is excellent and the price is on par with other blind company. They put up temporary blinds so that we would have window coverings while we were waiting on our new blinds. They were very responsive, and even gave us one free shade for our bathroom. He was very nice and very helpful and even referred us to a company that could put on a window film for our windows that have a curved top.
