 + 0 moreGreat. Steve initially came and gave me an estimate. Very reasonable. The major thing was he was able to come within a reasonable time-within two weeks after the estimate- and complete the job. (Having the driveway resurfaced in October, so it was key to get someone out here and clear things up prior.) Everyone else I contacted were booked up till 2021 in some cases. Not only did he cut and clean the area, he took shovels full of mulch from the cuts and toss them at the back of the garage. Above and beyond what was asked. I highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Removal of nuisance tree by front of garage. Removal of 4 trees back of the property for future fence.

Came sooner than he said he would get to it, got an estimate got a call that same evening saying he would be here the next morning. arrived right on time.

 + -1 moreI called three tree removal companies from the list, and Steve was the most prompt in getting me an estimate. He also charged me about half the price of another highly recommended company. I was the first call of the spring, and he rallied his help and equipment to take care of the tree, which had become so overgrown as to encroach on my neighbor's house as well as mine. He and his crew took care of the job neatly and quickly.
Description of Work: Steve removed a very large maple with three trunks. He also ground down the stump.

 + -1 moreTimberland was punctual, neat, and thorough. I couldn't be happier. It was two years ago and I don't remember the exact price I paid, but there were no hidden charges.
Description of Work: I had a row of overgrown shrubs that were starting to push against the windows of my house when they became heavy with snow. Timberland came in and cut down the shrubs for me.

 + -1 moreHe said my job was too big and he couldn't fit his equipment through my fence opening which is about 10 feet wide, bordered by my house. He was afraid of sideswiping my house with his equipment, which is understandable. I needed about 8 really big white pine trees removed along with two additional stumps. A boat was located under a tree I wanted removed and the rest of the trees were overhanging the stockade fence. I told him that the boat isn't worth anything and I was planning on getting rid of it in case that worried him. Two trees were overhanging the fence and the neighbor's shed. Given all of the difficulties, he passed on my job. He also told me he was way too busy to remove even just one dead tree which was adjacent to the fence and the neighbor's shed and really needed to come down ASAP, so by this point, I'm begging him to remove that one tree. He repeatedly said that he works alone and wouldn't have time. The good part of this is that he knows his limitations and is willing to say so instead of accepting a job that he couldn't do well. So essentially, if your job is big or in tight quarters, call a larger outfit.

 + -1 moreActually, what happened is that he had taken the trees down like a year ago and I had called to have him come back and grind all the stumps down because we are putting in a new fence. He came in and he ground all the stumps down and cleaned everything up and took it all with him. It was absolutely amazing. I was extremely happy with his work.

Description of Work: I had employed Timberland in the past and so called them again when I had work of a similar nature. It was two days before my call was returned, which was no biggie. Then it was two more calls before an actual appointment for an estimate could be established. I gave Steve my address, and he was aware he had done work here before (on two or three separate occasions actually) but after calling to tell me he would be here in 15 to 30 minutes, an hour went by before I found out he had gone to a similar address on the absolute opposite side of town. Again he said he would be here soon. Another 25 minutes went by (all of this during what would have been our dinner hour) before he called again. This time he said he remembered my yard, which includes some fencing, and told me he wouldn't be interested in the job and so wasn't even coming out. He had no idea what we even wanted him to do, and fencing would not have been an issue in this case. Also, the fencing in the front of our place is vinyl, which means all you have to do is remove a couple of screws and take a panel off for access into any of the area. Other contractors have done this without issue. Personally, I think this was rude, unprofessional behavior from a guy who obviously feels he doesn't need the work. He wasted several days of time I could have used to find someone that wanted to work, and at least two hours of an evening that I could have been doing anything other than waiting for him to NEVER show up. Not Good! And this behavior earns a big fat F from me.

 + -1 moreI contacted Steve Madden of Timberland Tree Service to ask him for an estimate, and he came by later the same day to take a look. We discussed the best way to remove the shrubs as they had been planted very close to a chain link fence. He recommended cutting them flush to the ground instead of pulling them, as the roots would have disturbed the fencing. I requested that he call ahead the day he was going to do the work, and he called this morning to tell me he would be out to take out the shrubs. Steve worked quickly and cut the shrubs as discussed. He raked up the area afterward and it looks great! I am very pleased. I would recommend Timberland. Great communication, professional, got the job done.

 + -1 moreI've not been to the house since they did the work, as it is a rental property I own in another state. However, if there had been a problem I'm sure my tenants would have let me know. The work was pretty basic, so I think there's little doubt it was done well.
Description of Work: I had a few overgrown trees that were pressing up under the eaves of my house, and it was time to get rid of them. I found Timberland here on AL and they returned my call immediately. The job was done when they said it would be done.

 + -1 moreThe service cost me $750. It was a good service. They were punctual. They had a reasonable estimate. They were thorough. I did have one issue in terms of trimming one of the trees. I wish they had communicated a little more about that particular tree. They gave me an estimate and I looked over it. I chose the man to come. He was punctual and knew his work. He was thorough and did what he said he would do. I did have one question about one of the trees, where he may have trimmed more than I really wanted. I had to rely on his judgment, but I wish we had talked a little bit more. He was good at the job. He cleaned up well. He was just magnificent in terms of cleaning up the debris. I think he did a good job. I will use this company again in the future.

 + -1 moreService was as expected, except for a minor problem with equipment. Steve let us know promptly that he would be later than expected which was no problem for us. Job was done in a timely manner. I love the fact that he grinds the stumps underground, now we can plant flowers and new grass.
