Great communication and timely estimate. Work was delayed due to weather. 200+ sq ft stamped concrete patio and pad for 1+ car garage both turned out well.

Description of Work: We originally had the work done in 2009 . We had a stone planter put in the front of our home . After completing the job instead of taking all the pieces of brick off the site . They put them back in the the planter . Help me out here how are you supposed to plant anything amongst concrete rubble . My son and I had to take it out , several wheel barrels full . About four years later the wall of the planter started buckling they never put enough crushed stone against the stone blocks for drainage and to protect the blocks from ice damage . Also no landscape fabric to separate the soil from the stones as a result all the soil kept leaching out of the spaces between . Three years later we had the owner come out to show him the resulting mess that our planter became. His response was . "You know it's been four years" and then sent us an estimate for the repair , almost$ 4.000.00 dollars . So if you want someone who will charge you for work that won't last four years and will charge you an outrageous price to repair his own shabby work . This is your guy.

Response from The Masonry Worker Inc
The Masonry worker Inc was invited and successfully completed a project in April 2008 for [member name removed] & [member name removed] of Chittenango, NY. The work included a beautiful stamped concrete patio in the rear entrance of their home. Their satisfaction was verified by a second invitation in May 2009 for a similar project on the front of their home. It included a stamped concrete entryway and retaining walls that stretched around the front corner of the home to the lower cellar level. All was well until we received a call to look at the lower retaining wall in 2013. Upon inspection it was clear the cause of the wall movement was a large five year old tree planted in the center of the small circular section of the retaining wall. A tree was discussed during the design phase and we advised against it before we installed the wall. We concluded that The Masonry Worker Inc was not responsible for the wall movement caused by tree root expansion over five years and provided a reasonable repair estimate of $2,456.00 . It is unfortunate to see a previously good customer lash out in an attempt to tarnish a reputation. The Masonry Worker Inc provides great service, work and advice. But please, don’t disregard our advice and somehow make people think that it is our fault.

Description of Work: Repaired cracked chimney and poured new cap. Very professional. Price wasn't cheap, but it was quality work and done in one day. Had to wait a few weeks for an appointment because they were very busy, but it was worth the wait.

I couldn't be happier with the service and work performed by Andy Putrello and his crew. He came to give an estimate soon after I contacted him and performed the work a short time after we agreed upon a price. He stayed in close contact with me regarding updates and got the work done quickly and professionally. The results look great!

I contacted the contractor in August to request a quote. Their representative arrived at the agreed upon time, took necessary measurements, discussed options, and then mailed and e-mailed the estimate. Over a couple of weeks, we communicated on some additional considerations, a revision to the estimate was made, and the contract was signed. I felt the quoted price was a bit high, but selected this proposal over others based on their responsiveness and knowledge, detailed proposal/contract (which others weren't willing to provide), positive feedback from references they provided, and their willingness to work with my schedule. The owner and his crew arrived the first day right on time. The brick that arrived with them had to be returned for replacement, but he understood the discrepancy and was very willing to make the correction. The first day's work was demolition and pouring a new foundation. Brick laying and installing a limestone landing at the top took a couple of days. Each day, the crew cleaned up the work site, and protected the installation and materials. Finish work to remove excess mortar took a bit longer to get just right. High pressure washes were necessary to remove excess material from the bricks, but after the steps were wet it was difficult to see where the mortar was. After the steps dried, it was clear that more work had to be done. I contacted them to continue the process, and they returned the same day to complete this phase. I'm very pleased with the final result.
Description of Work: Rebuilding the front steps to our house. The original steps were an 8 foot wide 4-step brick staircase with wrought iron railings. Deterioration of original mortar joints, concrete landing, and brick (80+ years old), and repaired areas (15 years old) required rebuilding. The project was to replace the staircase with exactly the same configuration, i.e., same size and number of steps, same brick layout, and reuse of the original railings. I selected the style of brick at a local brick yard and the contractor ordered and delivered the quantity needed. The contractor determined during demolition that nothing of the original foundation could be salvaged, so rebuilding was going to be complete replacement.

Mr. Taverne and his staff were very patient and helpful while I considered the colors, patterns and dimensions. His crew was very polite and professional. Not being familiar with the process, I regret that I did not know enough to cover my front door and flower arrangement with plastic to avoid the powder/process which coats everything before it is sealed. I would have removed the decorations.
Description of Work: My 20+ year old concrete/brick front sidewalk sank 6" where it met the front porch, creating an unsafe step/condition. The Masonry Worker replaced the sidewalk with stamped concrete with the correct pitch/angle, and also covered my red brick front porch with the same pattern and material to match the walk.
