We shopped all of the gas fireplace insert providers within a 50 mile radius of our home in Lee, NY before settling on Hearth and Home USA in Marcy/Utica NY. We chose Hearth & Homes USA because the owner, Patrick Hemming, was very personable, offered us many options and spent extra time explaining all possible options. Even though the store was ready to close, he didn't rush and gave us expert attention. He also went out of his way to research whether the Regency insert we were most interested in would (1) fit our existing fireplace and (2) if it would be available. We had seen neighbors fireplace inserts where the finished products looked piecemealed in (didn't fit the fireplace opening) and we wanted the existing fireplace filled completely. Our neighbors had also complained about hearing a loud hissing sound coming from their insert causing difficulty hearing their TV. Patrick assured us that his end product would have none of these inconveniences. He came to our home to take exact measurements and make recommendations as to adding a background plate to fit our existing fireplace exactly. The two installers arrived promptly and worked in a very friendly, professional, and experienced manner. They cleaned up completely and left no evidence of debris behind. They spent additional time explaining the use of the remote control and fireplace so that we were completely comfortable regarding the care of the fireplace. The finished product was lovely and works perfectly. Note: In order to fit our existing fireplace perfectly, they inserted the fireplace and then measured the remaining measurements so that they could go back to their shop and manufacture the final plate needed to fit exactly. Other fireplace stores we contacted did not offer this option to ensure the fit would be perfect. We couldn't be happier with our new fireplace. It generates heat throughout the entire main floor when on, saving having our whole house heater thermostat kicking on and heating the upstairs when it is not needed. Additional note, our final price was a lower than all of the competitors. We believe we received top quality at a reasonable price and couldn't be happier with the gas insert.
