Description of Work: The owner gave me an estimate to repair a purgo kitchen floor after a broken water pipe damaged and made the floor swell. I gave him $800 and he ordered the product. After several weeks and no contact from him I called to schedule the work. He looked at the floor in late Sept 2015, I paid him $800 on 11/3. In the mean time the floor had firmed up and the existing floor was unharmed. He was going to replace the floor with a much more expensive product. When he came back he agreed that the existing floor was ok and his employee agreed. I then asked him if he would like to give us an appraisal on flooring, using the same product he ordered for the original job just more of it, at a different address. This was a home we were redecorating to sell. He agreed, but before he left he DEMANDED another $800 toward the work. I was alone with him and his employee and found him to be getting angry and agitated. I wrote him another check for $800 which would have been the balance of the original job. He left and went to the other residence where my partner was, to look at potentially replacing the flooring in the kitchen and possibly install some new carpet. |So he was paid $800 on 11/3 and another $800 on 12/3 and he's not getting back to us for even a price or solution or returning calls from myself or my partner. I finally reached him Jan 31, 16 and started to ask him about finding a solution. He accused us of not following up and then proceeded to scream at me. He became personal and belligerent and accused me of cheating him out of jobs and proceeded to tell me how I had cost him money in running around doing estimates. I reminded him it clearly states "free estimates" in his advertising and we never even got that service. Let me remind you he STILL has my $1600. The man is NOT a professional, and I refuse to be bullied by him and his bad temper. After that contact I sent him a letter "with tracking #) requesting a refund within a reasonable amount of time or I seek out other options. |I filed a small claims action against him and his business,Joy Carpet, for a refund. That court date comes up this month.

Description of Work: Helped us find the exact same carpet (which I LOVED) after a broken sump pump caused water damage. About the same cost as 18 months ago from a "big box store - when the big box store said no longer available!! Purchase, remove old, install new carpeting in large basement family room
