He initially offered to "adapt" one that he had leftover from another customer, but it seemed like a bad idea. We checked on the internet and found companies that sell the correct type of cap. He then offered to make one for us. He never showed us the cap until after it was installed. It was made with wood and cheap fencing wire, and looked like a chicken coop on the roof! Although we said we were unhappy with the quality of the work, he still wanted payment for his time. We tried to talk to him about the possibility of buying another cap and having him install it, but he was too angry to listen. We paid him (partial payment) to leave.
