Cor-Jus Enterprises Appliance Repair & Service

First, I contacted the provider and set an appointment for the technician to look at my Kitchen Aide refrigerator. After making the appointment I was told to call again on the day of the appointment to confirm. I called as instructed and spoke to a man who was unprofessional and rude, asking me why i was bothering them. The technician looked at the refrigerator and determined that the electronic control board was defective and needed to be replaced. The technician told me that I would be contacted the following day with the cost of the electronic control board that needed to be replaced. I paid $96.68 for the service call. The following day, provider told me that the electronic control board for this model was "discontinued" and therefore, needed to be rebuilt. I was told that it would take three weeks and cost $777.00. I found it odd that a major part of an appliance for a major refrigerator company was not being made anymore, leaving anyone with this model completely helpless. I then contacted Kitchen Aide directly. They identified the part number and put me in contact with a distributor in my area. I purchased the part (NEW) and it was installed in three days. The cost of the new part was $351.76. When I called the provider to tell them I found a new part immediately, no explanation was given. This provider either lied to me or was incompetent. The provider tried to take my defective part, have me go three weeks without a refrigerator, and charge me more than double for a "rebuilt" part vs. a new part. Stay away from Cor-Jus Enterprises Appliance and Repair Service.

The owner was rude, abrasive, heartless and disrespectful treating me, the client, as though I was some stupid young thing with money to burn because I live on the Upper East Side of NYC. As a result, he spoke to me like I was a dummy, did the work, acted like he was doing me the favor. My refrigerator does not work very well after he finished but I had endured because it is so very expensive to have technicians come in. He assured me that if I kept my coils cleaned and he would come back each year to do it (for a fee), everything would be great. Guess what? You should have done it for us while you are already out here. It's call Customer Service. Fool me once, shame on you. Food me twice, shame on me. I would not recommend this company.

Other than the telephone receptionist who was nice, these are unpleasant people to deal with. The young service tech who came to tell us what we already knew, that a thermostat needed to be replaced, had a cocky attitude. After that we dealt with the owner who 1) told us the part we need isn't available anymore and then expressed irritation when we found it on the internet and had it shipped to us, 2) said he would call at 7:00 am on a certain day to tell us what time he would come to install it and forgot about it, 3) when he did come on another day, he said I needed to have a plumber come to install a shutoff valve and gave curt half answers to my questions, 4) after I had the valve installed right away and my wife called to make another appointment, he said he wouldn't move the stove to fix it and then insulted me to her, saying I endangered the household. The outcome was weeks of delay, plenty of aggravation, a bill for a service call and no repair. Find another company if you can.

CorJus was the only appliance repair service who knew how and had the technology to diagnose and repair the non-functioning control panel for our JennAir wall oven. Other service providers told us we had to replace the entire wall oven. CorJus had the technology to obtain the fault code and determine what parts needed replacing. The first visit, for the estimate, was expensive but was applied to the repair. CorJus ordered the control unit and installed it on a subsequent visit as soon as the part arrived. The oven has worked fine since the repair about four years ago.

The freezer in my 93 year old father's house stopped working sometime between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. He was panicked because he was afraid with the holiday coming he would be without the use of his freezer and would lose his food. I called and immediately the phone was answered by Cor-Jus. I don't remember who I talked with unfortunately, but he told us to keep both the refrigerator and freezer at the half way setting. He said the next day between 7:00 and 8:00 am we would be called with an appointment time with a 3 hour window. Since it was New Year's eve, the technician would to be sure they got there before 2:00 pm. The call came as promised and the technician came and fixed the freezer promptly. Everything was done by noon. The technician was professional and did they job efficiently. My father was very happy with the way it worked out. I will definintely use them again if I need appliance repair.

It went very well from beginning to end. I was very happy with the service provided.There were 3 different parts replaced so with labor i felt the price was steep but fair. The repairman Alex was very deliberate with his work and spent time making sure everything was done to my satisfaction before leaving.

They are really excellent. They really were; They knew what they were doing. Their pricing was okay too.

They had the part with them; the condenser fan motor, and they knew exactly what to do. They are just very excellent.

I used them to repair my BOSCH dryer's handle, which could not be fixed so we ordered a new one and the refrigerator's ice maker. He came the day of when I called the first time. Just took a look at everything and said he would order the handle and get back to me. I asked him to give me a call half an hour before he comes over so I can go back home from the park, he didn't. Instead he showed up at the door, then called and yelled at me for not being there. Anyway, I rushed back from the park, he didn't even talk to me, he just looked at the appliances and said he would order the handle and fix everything when he comes back. He also said the handle would take approximately 3 days to come in and he would come back to install it in the following 2 days. After a week, I called him back from the number he called me, he yelled at me again for bothering him on his cell phone and told me to call the office. I didn't even know it was his cell phone and it was day time on a business day. I looked up the office number and started calling and leaving messages. It has been almost 3 weeks, my credit card is charged the full amount ($240) and I still haven't heard back. The dryer handle is completely out of place, I can't use it anymore and I have 3 kids and loads of laundry everyday. Still no ice in the ice maker, I had an extra replacement filter for the refrigerator which he could have been placen in a minute, he didn't. He works by himself and he is the owner, so it wasn't just a bad employee in a big company. There is also a lady who sometimes picks up the phone but she can't help other than say she will pass him a note. Long story short, find another one, there are a lot of services for BOSCH and other major appliance brands.

I called them again to fix another dishwasher at another location. The guy I spoke with was rude and combative (for no reason) and when I attempted to re-sechedule the appointment, he hung up on me. I thought maybe it was a dropped cell phone call, but when I called back, there was no answer or voicemail. There is absolutely NO reason for a small business to treat their customers this way!

My Subzero fridge was not cooling properly and was maintaining only 60 degrees. I called at 8am and Joe came out as promised on time that afternoon. He told me the gas was low so re-filled it. He said that it may or may not work depending on what state the compressor was in. If the gas didn't work, we would need a new compressor costing $1400. The next day the fridge temp had gotten down to 50 degrees but we have decided to get a new fridge instead of putting the money into this one (it's over 20 years old). I appreciated that Joe tried the gas first and did not try and sell me a new compressor right off the bat. He was professional and efficient but you could also tell that he doesn't suffer fools gladly!

I was referred to this company by a friend who had just had a great experience with her dryer repair. I called yesterday in a panic. They were very pleasant & said someone would come out today and would call btwn 7&8a to give me a window. Call came on time. 4 hour window (10-2) Joe arrived @1p and fixed everything within a half hour.

I could see the motor on my moveable Thermidor extractor fan had broken ( as it had stopped moving up and down). I searched for companies that service Thermidor and called Cor-jus. I described the make and model and told them I thought I needed a new motor and what was wrong . They came out and undid the unit housing and told me that yes the motor needed a new part, but they didnt have any with them and they would need to order it. Charged me $140 for 12 minutes and were supposed to call me next day with details on the replacement part. 2 weeks later after an email and some calls I finally got hold of someone at the company with the details they were supposed to call me with. I knew there was a $125 call out charge but was frustrated that after I'd already described the make/model etc that they had not brought applicable parts with them especially as I had explained ( correctly) exactly what the problem was. They then disconnected the unit so the part which was still working now does not work and finally they failed to call me back as promised so I had to chase them for 2 weeks to get an answer.

This is the second time I have used Cor-Jus (the first was for a washing machine repair). As before, they said they would call between 7 and 7:30 A.M. - actually, they didn't and I called them - and give me a 3-hour window. The repairman came within that window. It turned out to be a horrendous repair. He practically had to take the entire refrigerator apart to free the icemaker. But he very patiently did so. This is the second time I have had to replace this icemaker. The last time was a year and a half ago, and a different company did the work. Although that was an easier repair (the thing wasn't frozen solid), they charged me much more for it.

I moved my son's four-year-old Bosch washer and dryer to my apartment. When I tried the washer, it didn't work. This was a few days before a 3-day weekend -- every company I called from Angie's List, the phone book, or web search said they would call me back, or offered me a date weeks in the future. When I called Cor-Jus there was just an answering machine, and I didn't leave a message. But 10 minutes later they called me back, and offered me an appointment on the next day. The repairman called in the morning (as promised) and gave me a time. My only complaint was that he arrived an hour and a half after that time. But he was intelligent, polite and professional, resolved the problem quickly, and charged a rate that was standard or slightly lower for this very expensive area. I would definitely use them again.

He was honest, on time, was clean and a true professional. He was articulate. I would use him again.
