They installed a new tankless boiler for us when we converted to gas. They did a great job and kept me informed every step of the way. This was a VERY big job since my boiler was 30+ years old and HUGE. They took care not to damage anything while they were working and kept my home clean. They finished the job on time and without any incidents. I highly recommend Stanley Gelber & Sons and plan to use them for everything I need from now on.

Good professional work from the initial quotation meeting up to and including handoff of the system. It was a very messy job with many details that were handled very well. Specifically: - drop cloths were laid and removed daily - floors were vacuumed daily - debris was removed daily - workers were considerate and polite - office staff was helpful - subcontractors to Stan Gelber performed similarly as their workers - all proper permits were paperwork were filed and/or obtained

I felt they were extremely overpriced. I would not work with them again.

I paid $6500 for the heat and $7500 for the air conditioner. They were reliable, neat and clean. They didn’t cause any damage and things like that. Their professionalism and friendliness were excellent.

Everyone at Stanley Gelber was terrific. The process took some time because we had to wait for National Grid to put in the gas line, but everything was taken care of for us and we were kept informed every step of the way. Stanley Gelber's staff were very responsive and didn't quit until every aspect of our system was working perfectly. We had already used them for our AC and have been very happy with their quality and service. I especially love working with a family owned company.

They arranged a convenient appointment for the same day. The service scheduler was professional and helpful. The serviceman came on time and quickly assessed the situation. He performed routine maintenance as well as restarting boiler.

They arrived at 10am as expected and looked at the issue. They thought that it was the control board and were going to find the piece. They called at 1pm and told me that they would be back later that afternoon to install it. They arrived around 3:45pm, installed the new control board but the unit didn't work. They did more analysis and realized that the issue were two of the sensors. They fixed those and i had hot water again at 6:30pm. Great job!

Brian Gelber provided me estimates at time of visit. Would feel confident having them do the installation of central a/c.

The installation, service and performance of Stanley Gelber and Sons was first rate. Their price was competitive, and the installation and servicing of the generator was and continues to be great. They always showed up when promised and were in constant communication as to the status of project. The installation of the generator required both electrical and plumbing work and all were done professionally, as promised and on time. The generator hasn't been needed often, but we have lost power since its installation and it worked as promised. I highly recommend Gelber & Sons. I found them through a referral of a friend and I have recommended them to others as well.

I had Stan Gelber do a tuneup on my AC system this year and took out a service contract as my system is over 15 years old. They were prompt in being able to give me an appointment that met my schedule. The mechanic was knowledgeable and got the repair done quickly. I would use them again.

Great as always. We have two zone Central A/C installed by Gelber and Sons about 10 years ago. We have them come back every spring to service the units. They are always on-time, courteous, neat and highly qualified. We have recently added other equipment including a generator. Brian Gelber, the owner, gave us a fair deal, and his office staff handled all of the required town permit filing, inspections, etc... Painless process! Although you get the definite impression that Brian is always really busy (which is a good thing) he always makes time to answer any questions or concerns. If he can't speak to you immediately, he will call you back. On the rare occasion there is a problem, it gets resolved ASAP. We have recommended Brian and his company to many of our friends in our neighborhood and recommend the same to anyone looking for knowledgeable A/C and Heating sales people, quality equipment, and reliable service staff.

Jordan took care of everything as he stated at the time of the proposal. He ordered the generator and the transfer switch. He lined up the electricians, sceheduled the plumbers and of course took care of the permit with the town. Wow and quot;you mean I DON'T HAVE to go down thereand quot; I love this plan! Everthing went very well, and Jordan hit all his time lines as scheduled.The crew was very nice and did a very professional job which included a very good cleanup afterwards. Once installed and inspected,Jordan came over and he familiarized me with the equipment. Everthing is automated. The generator gave me and my family great piece of mind. Knowing that Jordan and his team is standing behind thier product and workmanship is also very satisfying . I have done a number of projects on my house over the years. Stan Gelber and Sons was the best company that I have worked with. They have proven to be knowledgeable, competent, reliable, friendly, and easy to work with. We continue to do business with them and refer them to family and friends.

I couldn't be any happier using stan gelber and sons. not only were they always punctual but it was like they were never even there. they work very clean and efficient. jordan who sold me this job was always on time and his quote on the project was not just a guess it was exactly right. I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone, they did exactly what they sid they were going to do in the time they said they would do it. before giving this job to gelber and sons I did my research and got a bunch of quotes and timelines on how long it would take and gelber son were the most reasonable. im very happy choosing gelber and son and would love to use there services again and already have recommended them to my brother and cousin

The owner of the company, Brien, met with us. He was punctual (as were the workers who installed our unit ) He was professional, and explained all aspects of the work to be done. Prior to stepping into our home he put booties over his shoes because he was concerned about tracking dirt into our home. He went through all the details of what to expect including where the ducts would be placed and which closets the piping would be placed. He gave us an exact price before leaving our home. The company takes care of filling out the forms to receive a rebate. Our price without the rebate was $10,850.00 This included the unit, duct and piping along with the electrician who was hired by the company. . After the rebate the price is $10.100.00. The owner was not pushy at all and helped us make an informed decision regarding the quality of the unit. We decided to purchase a high Efficiency Center Air Cleaner to be installed with the infinity 16 Air conditioner - Central air unit. I suffer from allergies and the air cleaner has been enormously helpful. The unit comes with a 10 year warranty which includes 10 year labor, 10 years parts and 10 years compressor. After the owner left my husband and I had several other questions and whenever we called the office we were treated in a courteous manner. The work was done in two days. They cleaned everything up and even took all debris with them. They explained how to use the system and were very patient while I asked them to review it with me several times. My husband and I are extremely pleased with the work. Stanly Gelber's workers were polite and professional. We are very thrilled to now have central air. My husband and I are very relieved to have found this company. The only thing we regret is not having done it sooner!

As always it went very well. I had a system installed over 10 years ago and we have never had a problem. I have since added an additional Mr. Slim unit that has really done a great job for us. Instead of a hard sell to upgrade the system and spend all kinds of money, Brian provided me a great solution, the Mr. Slim manufactured by Mitsubishi. I think what has always made the difference with Stan Gelber and Sons is the outstanding care to make sure you have the right solution. The workmanship and staff that come to your home are professional and first rate. Stan Gelber and Sons is always professional and the price is reasonable. Quality is most important and the Gelber team has always provided my wife and me with a quality product. In addition if you have a question Brian is always available to answer it. Service is reliable and timely. In our case my wife prefers that the service person where Shoe Guards when they walk throuh the house. With Gelber and Sons you never get a hassle, they even bring their own.. Also we have in the past and will continue to recommend Stan Gelber and Sons. I have and will continue to HIGHLY recommend Brian and his company.

My husband and I bought our house in December, and knew we wanted to install central air before it got warm, so we got prices from a few different companies and compared everything. Brian, the owner, from Gelber and Sons explained every detail to us and even showed us where our vents would go! He then provided us with a quote for the total package, and not just a base price that we knew we'd have to add extras to. They installed our central air conditioning in 2 days in April, on days that were convenient for us (including a Saturday!) and we couldn't wait to turn it on! The workers were professional, clean (wore booties on their shoes, even though they weren't even dirty!) and didn't even leave any garbage at the curb! We just turned on our new AC this weekend, and we're sooooo happy with it! We're so glad we decided to make the investment in our new home, and can't wait to be cool this summer! Gelber and Sons came highly recommended to us, and we will be recommending them to everyone we know!

I have used this company since moving into Plainview in 1974 for air conditioning and heating equipment, yearly maintenance and repairs when necessary. Excellent service has always been provided. Work always performed by trained professionals and with the utmost of care and attention to detail. I have never had to wait an excessive amount of time for service or emergency repairs. Appointments were made to accommodate homeowners work schedule and company has always been responsive and stood behind product and performance.

Gelber and Sons installed my heating system a while back, upon their suggestion I changed my furnace from oil to natural gas and it was the best thing I did in terms of costs savings (gas is cheaper than oil) and efficieny of the furnace (the new burner is substantially more efficient than the old gas burner so I spend less to heat my home in winter). This year my old central air conditioning died and I naturally called Gelber and Sons for an estimate. They were on time, professional and made terrific suggestions, including putting a ductless unit in the den so I don't have t cool off the entire house when we're typically only in the den for most of the evenings. They did an amazing job, were very clean, polite and provided an all around excellent experience. I'd recommend Gelber and Sons to anyone looking for heating or air conditioning service or installations.

This is the best experience I have ever had with an AC contractor. The owner, Brian, is very involved and is super professional. He is always ready to help and makes sure the customer is extremely satisfied and gets great value for their money. Mr. Gelber's team was punctual and had a very professional appeareance Here's more of the story:. It was very hot in the house as my old AC broken. We called Gelber and they showed up in less than one hour. We were happy to see the new shiny Gelber truck show up in the driveway. His team was very clean and neat. They made sure everything worked great before they left. They cleaned up after themselves and left us with a cool house and working system. His price was fair. And his follow up was A+ . I will use Gelber again and again. And recommend them to all . These guys are the best in Long Island.!!!!

The worst experience i have ever had with any contractor. I have many positive reviews on Angies but working with Brian was the absolute worst experience. I have waited 1 year to come back to Angies List to make this review to be certain the AC still works - that is the only good thing to come of this. The photos i provide here should tell you all you need to know but i will explain them. 1) First incident is when his lead worker Henry drills a hole from upstairs closet into the den below. His drill bit carves into the wall as shown. Now they agree only to put some spakle on it because they wont come back to sand and paint so of course i say i will take care of it. I had to buy the pint of paint the compound and do the work myself and there was no apology or reimbursment. 2) Next Henry damages the ceiling by actually ripping the sheetrock. He says he will repair it with a cheap product called White Lighting and so again isay no. I buy ceiling paint do the compund and sanding and paint myself - no apology or reimbursment offered from the owner Brian. 3) Brians nephew shows up to do the electric. Total loser took hours to figure out how to wire it up properly and didn't leave until 9pm after carving a hole in my closet the size of a tennis ball to put a thermostat wire into the attic. The wire should have been shielded but you can see its not. 4) Inside the attic you can see the they had about 20 feet extra of wire so they just wrapped it up and stuck it between some beams and of couse they didn't secure it as you can see. Look close and you can see the wires are not properly connnected and the insulation is nicked exposing the wire. My electrician wanted $250 to correct. Brian claimed i was nit-picking. 5) Brian sends someone 2 weeks later to inspect for the LIPA refund. The guy makes a crack in the bedroom ceiling. Brian insists that his guy never could do that because he never has and i didnt discover the crack for 2 days so he will not accept responsibility. Cost to fix - 300. Ther are many good reviews for this company but i am not the only one to find that when something goes wrong Brian will not stand up and take responsibility. He gave me a cover worth $69 to compensate - not even close to cover all the work and cost and madness i was subjected to. Dealing with Brain when things go wrong is a nightmare and i have the emails and photos to prove it. Just the worst contracting experience ever. The company response is totally not true - the vent in the photo is not one that was repositioned and the access to the attic was never an issue and has nothing to do with the shoddy work as seen in the photos - the photos speak the truth. Brian always has excuses - I have the emails to prove it.
