Yesterday, I noticed our central air conditioner was running but the outside compressor was not working. I called, fully expecting it would take a day or two to arrange a service call. I was told that a tech would arrive that day. At around 5pm, Carlos and Norman arrived and diagnosed the problem. They were courteous and professional and the repair was taken care of. Our family has been Gelber customers for over 40 years. From top to bottom, the staff is there for you when you need them. I highly recommend them.

They were very neat, very punctual, they performed well and were very professional. The units are still working wonderfully.

The guy dropped his toolbox in the attic and it damaged our ceiling. They just told me to get an estimate, I don't know who to get an estimate from. They've been very responsive. They always call to give us a time frame about when they're going to be here. They give me like a four hour window. The only thing is, they're supposed to call us on their way, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

It took them a couple of days. You normally expect that when you do the whole house. They were good.

Every year they come out and do the servicing of the system and make sure it's working right and everything. I did have a problem one year. It turned out that a part had gone bad and they replaced the part. It was still under warranty. The only thing was, we had to wait for a while till the part came in, but then that happens.

Big problem.....No emergency service available on Friday night through Monday morning. They installed a very expensive boiler which sprung a large leak early Saturday morning. It flooded and ruined our finished basement (over $10,000. in restoration) and although I had a maintenance a contract with the company, I could not reach them when I needed them. Emergencies can occur any day of the week and they lack appropriate coverage. They have no emergency answering service, which we recommended several times.

Went perfectly! The technicians were amazing and the personal hands on work from Jordan Gelber was reassuring and amazing. I felt I was working with a family business who cared about me and the job they were doing .

The initial install seemed to go well, from what I was told. Soon after the two folks from Gelber & Sons had left I found that when I turned on the a/c in the upstairs bedroom the one in the den, directly below it on the first floor would turn on, and vice versa. I called the company and they turned one of the guys right around. He took a look and informed me that the problem was with cross wiring. The "rookie" whom he was training has cross wired the units. That did not bode well. Why would you let a trainee do an actual install? The next issue was with the unit in the master bedroom on the second floor. After it was on (on A/C) for about 15 minutes, running at about 65-68 degrees, I would hear loud pops and crackling coming out of that unit. The noise level would fluctuate - sometimes it would be loud and other times it sounded like water dripping. I spoke to the service dept numerous times and most often I was told that that was "normal"! The loud crackling noise sounded like one of my roof beams was breaking. I have been back and forth with the company all of last summer plus starting again in May 2016 and they have not resolved the issue. They have sent someone over a few times but all that person has done is loosened a few screws and told me that it will be ok. Every time that I call I am told that it is normal. I even spoke to Carrier who contacted Gelber. They were supposed to send out their head service guy three weeks ago. On the day that he was supposed to have come someone from Gelber called and canceled the appointment. They promised that he would come by the following week. Well, I am still waiting. They are very condescending and will not listen to the customer. A few times I have actually had them talk over me as I was attempting to describe my concern. I even sent them audio recordings of the noises and they turned around and told me that it sounded like someone was breathing!! The final issue that I encountered was at the end of summer 2015. I saw water damage on my ceiling that runs below the crawl space on the second floor. The crawlsapce runs the entire length and there are pipes that run in that area from the master bedroom unit out to the back of the house and then down to the compressor on the first floor. Upon further examination of the crawlspace I saw that the installers had not covered the water pipes, hence condensation had dripped through all summer and damaged the ceiling. It had also damaged some of the roof rafters. When I called and spoke to Jordan Gelber, who had sold us the system, he did not even apologize. He simply stated that as the system was still under warranty they would send someone over to fix it. They did send someone over to fix the issue but let alone receiving damages, I did not even receive an apology for the shoddy job done in the first place. We are stuck with the noisy unit in the bedroom as Carrier will not allow us to switch to another service company without voiding the warranty and we cannot get Gelber and Sons to fix it for us. UPDATE: June, 2016 - Jordan Gelber and company have been very helpful with addressing all of our complaints. They have made numerous trips to my house to fix all the issues that I have mentioned here. They also quickly replaced one of the units that had a leaking drain pipe. Overall I am completely satisfied that they have addressed all of my needs.

Excellent! Service can't be beat! The attention to detail is incredible. They are very neat. No ugly pipes running down the exterior of the house. The installers are extremely friendly, caring, and a pleasure to deal with. They lay down drop cloths, wear shoe covers, and do a fantastic job cleaning up. Can't say enough positive things about the whole job and level of service from the whole team, top to bottom. Everything is working great! Highly recommend!

I own and operate a hair salon in Rockville Centre, NY and have recommended them to many clients and friends, who are always extremely satisfied with their caring service. Brian is their service manager and a very capable man. In 2014 I decided to install a gas generator to power my entire home, so I contacted Stan Gelber & Sons. An appointment was made with Jordan in sales to come to my home to discuss the details. Jordan is a great guy! He asked me a lot of questions to best understand what my needs were, and did a full survey to understand what a full install would require. He also answered all our questions and gave me wonderful explanations. Jordan coordinated everything, running of the gas, electric lines and the complete installation of the 20KW Generic generator. The unit was tested and ready for inspection. The work was done in a very respectful manner to our home and yard, keeping everything neat and organized as they worked. The unit self tests once a week and we receive a weekly maintenance e-mail report on how the generator is working. Stan Gelber & Sons is a First Class, caring operation and I highly recommend them!

We contracted with Stanley Gelber and Sons to install central air conditioning on our main level and ductless air conditioning in our basement. The installation took two days and met or exceeded all the requirements specified in the contract, The installation completed by Juan and his team was done in a professional manner including all cleanup and material removal. All systems work as expected and provide evenly distributed air conditioning throughout the house. I would highly recommend Stanley Gelber to anyone considering installing central air conditioning in their home.

Brian Gelber, Juan and their crew were very professional and did an excellent job of installing a Unico mini-duct system for the first floor and basement of my 1920 Bungalow style home. The job took a couple of days and It was very comfortable to have the crew in my house. They did a clean job and respected my home. They knew the system well and it still does a great job. I would definitely recommend them or use them again.

My initial meeting with Brian Gelber provided me with the comfort level that I needed to have his company perform the gas conversion in my home. It is a major (and expensive) undertaking but I was confident that Gelber had the knowledge and ability to perform the process in a diligent and professional manner. I was not disappointed. I was given the right advice concerning which product to purchase and I would consider the installation team to be extremely competent as well. Gelber coordinates all activities of the Town, National Grid and the tank removal. They made it about as stress free as you could hope for when going through a project of this size and scope.

The install was on time and completed as promised. There were a few issues with the initial install. First, one of the outdoor units was installed too close to our propane tank. This was not a problem for the city inspector (it passed), but the propane company refused to fill the tank until it was moved. Gelber & Sons was great about coming out and moving the unit to comply. Another issue was that one of the drain lines had a kink in it, so about 1/2 hour after the first time I turned on the AC we had water flowing out of the unit in the room onto my head. Again, Gelber & Sons was quick to come out and fix the issue. There was also a problem with one of the 5 internal units not working properly. It took several trips to satisfy Mitsubishi's requirements to get a replacement, but Gelber & Sons was great about following through on it until we were satisfied. I was very happy with their service and they way they stood behind their work and the product.

.We had a new Hot Air furnace and AC installed . Price was ok. the owner said we would get 2 rebates,which we did,but it took a lot of effort and calls to company. But they did keep returning my calls and eventually got full rebates as promised. Installation job was good.

Another heating and air conditioner company had installed the thermostat. I did not want to go back to them. Stanley Gelber had to spend time to familiarize themselves with the unit, which they did not install. They did not charge me for the time used to do this. They did an excellent job and their charge was very reasonable.
