Was given an estimate of when the agent would show up, and then I got called at 800 in the morning to be told he'll be there in 10 minutes. Sort of surprised me as I was busy doing something else. He was pretty agreeable to coming back at a later time when I could at least drive home and get things ready. At times, I had some problems understanding him (language barrier more than anything else), but he was really patient even though I must have driven him nuts with questions. Diagnosed my problem (central a/c not cooling enough in separate zones; one zone was frozen and another was barely cutting it). Fixed it and taught me how to maintain my system better.

WE NEEDED FREON IN THE A/C UNITS. THE FELLOW CAME IN, DID A COMPLETE ASSESSMENT, TOOK TOO LONG. I KNEW ALL I NEEDED WAS FREON, HE MADE A BIG PROJECT OF IT, TO JUSTIFY THEIR BIG PRICE TAG. HE SAID HE CHECKED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. FOUR DAYS LATER, THE PUMP WENT AND I HAD TO CALL THEM BACK, THOUGHT HE CHECKED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM BUT I GUESS JUST NOT THE PUMP. TOTAL 1100.00. I FEEL I WAS OVERCHARGED FOR THE FREON TOO. NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER CALL THEM FOR ANYTHING.

Our experience with them was fine, but we had to spend a lot of money for it. They knew what they were doing and did what they had to do. My husband and I got a few estimates from others before we went with Stanley Gelber and Sons. They seemed approachable and we liked them, so we chose them. They were cheaper than the others who gave us estimates, but were still a bit expensive. I have recommended them to two people who saw their work and liked it.

True professionals who care about quality and customer satisfaction. The whole team was delightful, polite, knew what they are doing, and respectful of our furnishings and home. The company gave us exactly what was promised, no hidden charges, and finished exactly when they promised. They also have responded quickly to address a concern that developed after work was completed and relocated a vent at their own expense. HIGHLY RECOMMEND - WILL USE THEM AGAIN!

They charged me what they quoted me, which was about $1200. There were some issues with the humidifier and they came back a few times and there were no extra charges and fixed everything promptly. They were clean, efficient, courteous and professional.

Phase 1 - there was a miscommunication between the designer and the installers, i came home to find all the ductwork installed in the basement when it should have been on the main floor. This was taken care of the next day and i am extremely happy with the end result. Phase 2 - all of the work done by the AC/duct guys was great, we did have to vacuum thoroughly and patch/paint a few ares where the guys were going to cut holes and then could not. The only issue with this was the electricial (3rd party) was not given the plan for where to run the electrical to the attic. He was professional about it and came back out to re-run the wiring in the required location. Overall i am very happy with the company and will be using them to install the downstairs system when we are ready for it.

I didn't think they were good. The guy that came told me that the piping that was used was supposed to be seven-eighths and it was three quarters and that was the whole cause of our problem, which was ridiculous. It was a stupid response and I thought he wasn't good. They were responsive. They came when they said they would come. When I pointed out how ridiculous it was to say that three quarters versus seven-eighths is an eighth of an inch, he didn't even realize that three quarters is six-eighths. All of a sudden he waived the say as though he thought I would complain about him. He wasn't professional at all.

Job could not have gone better. They did exactly as promised with no surprises. This is the 2nd time I used them for a big job and I would use them again in a second.

They were fine. They were on time and their price was reasonable. Their service men were polite and clean. The furnace hasn't blown up. I can't really compare the price of the unit. The quality of work was excellent.

The project went extremely well. The appointment was set up within 2 weeks. The men arrived with 2 trucks filled with equipment and parts. The larger size of the unit required replacing all the copper piping the builder installed and the electrical wiring with a larger size. I relocated the compressor since the new one was many times the size of the old one. The men were very accomodating in allowing my wife decide where to put it (an energy efficient unit required a much larger compressor that the tiny one the builder installed and my wife hated it). They had to move the 300 lb. unit a few times until the final spot was agreed upon. The job went better than expected. They re-worked much of the duct work installed by the builder giving me much more attic space at no extra charge. They also corrected many other builder problems. The guys were neat and efficient and knew what they were doing. What a pleasure compared the the idots at Cool Solutions, the company the builder used. A month after installation, they called to an inspection and to get some info to fill out the LIPA rebate. While I didn't have much chance to use the system this year, on the few hot days, the duct temperature ranged between 52 and 55 degrees. The builder's system never did better that a duct temperature less than 68 degrees which the builder's guy said was normal. i have a big house, it begins to get comfortable in about 30 minutes instead of the several hours it took with the old system. The company was great. They also listened as to how I use the system. I don't usually run both zones together and rather than trying to confince me I must do that, they made the system fit my needs. I would use this company again in a minute.

Gelber did a great job- I initially hired a different contractor and had to throw them off the job mid way through for delays and non performance- As Gelber had bid the job too but were a higher bid I called them in to pick up where the other contractor left off. Realizing the situation they expedited equiptment deliveries and did a wonderful job. This was a difficult installation in an old house with plaster walls and they were meticulous in keeping my house clean, running wires and ducts carefully and checking that all was to my satisfaction.

The experience was great from the start. We couldn't commence work right away (village permit issues) so the Gelbers provided us with a temporary loaner. That one failed to work and they changed it again to another loaner. They went above and beyond what they had to do for us. Additionally, once the work commenced, the crew did their best to contain any mess made. The company is headquartered in Uniondale, and we live in Great Neck, so the crew wouldn't get to us ever before 10am at the earliest, and they would leave at around 3:30pm. That's not the longest work day, and if they were able to work a couple of more hours a day, the job could have been done maybe two days earlier. However, I never brought it up because they were doing a good job and I wasn't paying by the hour!

We asked them to start early, and met their commitments. The final price was 2,500 higher than the original estimate because we needed two external units, as opposed to one.

We received four bids on this work and Stan Gelber was easily the best in terms of price and promptness. The price was $9250, but this includes $2250 in rebates. The installers were prompt, courteous and very professional.

The workers from Stanley Gelber took a little while to come out. They didn't take any longer than anyone else. They actually came out earlier than planned, which was nice. I thought that they were extremely professional. They were more expensive than the company I used in the past. I felt that they knew what they were doing and they shared information with me that I thought would be helpful. I was really happy with them.

My husband is the Executor of an estate that includes this house. We live in another state and were having a difficult time finding a reputable company to install a new heater. This company is amazing! Lou, the service manager, at our request, went out to the house, checked on the work, and immediately contacted us. All arrangements were made via phone,email and fax.Within a week, his service people were at the house doing the installation. We arrived a few days later to find everything in working order and extremely clean.

My appointment was for my routine yearly service. The technician was courteous, neat and orderly and took care of what had to be done to maintain my warranty on the system that I had installed last year. There was some confusion over the price of the service but this was rectified after talking to the service manager.

I've always felt that Stan Gelber and Sons Incorporated is a top-notch company. They do a very excellent and a thorough job on the air conditioner. They are also very responsive and will come out quickly if there is a problem.

The estimate was excellent. He answered any questions and gave the warranties. I don't have a chimney. It's a direct vent system in the garage. It makes the heat there and brings it into the house. He was a real nice guy. He didn't pressure me. He was here about an hour and a half.

Because of the old style construction of our home, the project was a difficult one to complete. Every contractor we've hired for other projects has commented on the unusual problems he has faced. This was no exception, but the workers conscientiously solved every problem they were confronted with. Basically a five man crew worked hard and in good humor in hot weather. I was consulted on every questionable decision to be made and when my suggestions conflicted with theirs, they acceded to my requests. As promised, they contained about 95% of their mess, making our inevitable cleanup much easier than anticipated. The Unico system supplied by Gelber is far less complicated than systems proposed by others, more aesthetically pleasing and less expensive. On the final day, they supplied three extra workers and the crew worked overtime to finish the job on time. Gelber did what other contractors had said they couldn't do, for less money and we couldn't be happier.

They are a good air conditioning company. I trust them to repair my air conditioner if it needs it, but they don't do anything unnecessary. The man who came was very professional and knew what he was doing. He was very thorough and I was very satisfied with the work. This company is very responsive and prompt.

From the time we signed the contract to the date the system was installed was just about a month. The office communicated everything to us, were very professional and the crew arrived on time and were very neat. They did a wonderful job installing the new system in our attic, cleaned up before they left and walked us through the system and how to operate it.

The service people were easy to talk to and they explained the work needed to be done. The work was completed in a timely manner and we are pleased with the results. I recommend them as dependable and thorough.

Although they weren't the cheapest, they were professional, neat and treated my home as if it was theirs. I am very happy with the results. It just proves, you get what you pay for.

They were very professional, knew what they were doing, were well coordinated, and very clean. They were a pleasure to have working in the house. They made the entire experience very easy, as it was a very large job. They were very responsive when I called with a question or concern.
