The heating work was almost complete when I cancelled the job In the spring of 2011, because the carpenter wasn't showing up, week after week. I gave Jim a few weeks' notice before cancelling, but the carpenter still didn't show. Then I got busy with other things and the job was left on hold. In the spring of 2013, I called Jim, who came with his son and completed the work. They installed four "beauty plates," repositioned and enclosed a "heat run," repaired an anomaly in the house's original heating system, adjusted all the registers, and installed new filters in the furnace. Now the heat seems to be working properly in both areas of the house. He didn't charge me for completing the job. Summary: I have no quarrel with the work itself that Lawrence Heating and Air Conditioning performed either this spring (2013) or in 2010. The carpenter Jim hired worked satisfactorily, but was absent a good share of the time which led to my canceling the job, resulting in neither the remodeling nor the heating being completed at that time. Because the work was interrupted (and I can't locate my file with the cancelled bank check stubs for Mr. Lawrence), the only cost I can document is the electrical work for $3040.00.
Description of Work: Lawrence Heating and Air Conditioning Because Jim had done a good job for my nephew in Skaneateles, I hired him in 2010 to install heating in a new area of my home. The heating was combined with electrical work , for which Jim hired an electrician, and remodeling, for which Jim hired a carpenter.
