New York Carpentry

I hired Flavio to build shelves and cabinets around the existing fireplace mantle. I found him to be very professional and meticulous in his work. He worked with us to brainstorm ideas and added to the original concept of what we wanted. Working in an older house with uneven walls, Flavio made sure that each piece of what he was building fit perfectly, he also incorporated ideas we had during the project to accommodate our needs. Flavio finished the work on schedule and he cleaned up after himself every day. I was very pleased with Flavio's work and will be working with him again in the future.

Flavio and his workers did a great job. They ripped out all the old rotten wood, installed supports where needed, replaced the rotten wood and installed covered gutters to divert water and keep the rest of the wood in good condition.

Flavio is highly skilled, reliable and meticulous in his work. From the moment I first reached out to him I knew I had the right person for the job. He was immediately responsive and always came on time as agreed. He was also extremely accommodating as we had our wood floors done by different contractors and he had to come 2 separate times (in addition to the estimate before starting) to coordinate with the other workers. He took down our old banister above the stairs (while leaving key pieces to make it safer for my family and small kids) and placed the main pole that needed to be installed first. He then came back after the floors were installed to put up the rest of the new railings and banister. I was worried about the overhang that was visible from the old sub-floor. Flavio was ingenious in how he fixed this. I could have never imagined it would look as beautiful as it did. I'm beyond thrilled with how it turned out! Flavio and his teammate took time at the start to measure everything precisely and this seemed to make all the difference. Flavio also knows the city codes very well and won't compromise on quality. I felt completely reassured that he knew exactly what he was doing and did it so beautifully. He far exceeded my expectations. We will definitely hire Flavio and his team again. Best woodworking I have ever seen!

Excellent work, my house is very out of level in some places making trim work and doors more challenging but all of the doors are hung perfectly and the cuts are tight. Flavio clearly knows what he is doing. I would trust him with any carpentry project.

Flavio is meticulous and has very high standards for himself and his work. He was always responsive, came on time to quote projects and provided a quick proposal. He is a professional carpenter that takes every detail into account. He didn't mind my input (compared to other contractors who take fast offense at any question or suggestion). He cleans up afterwards leaving the space the same or better than it was beforehand. But most importantly the outcome of his work - butchblock counter cut tightly around obstacles and counter installation in an imperfect room - was high quality. Finally, he is kind and pleasant and a patient problem-solver. I would definitely hire him again.

Very professional from the first phone call to the the last nail being hammered. I did a full kitchen remodel doing much of the work myself and outsourced tasks like electrical work and drywall taping that are best left to professionals. I called New York Carpentry to do the intricate two-piece crown molding around all cabinets. Flavio and his assistant completed the work in one day and the cuts and fitting were perfect. I had to “settle” with the work of other trades but NY Carpentry exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend Flavio for any carpentry work needed.

Flavio returned my call promptly and came out to give an estimate the next morning. Our exterior door is a non-standard size but flavio had creative ideas to get the job done at a reasonable price. He picked up all materials and was back to complete the job done soon thereafter. His attention to detail was remarkable and he went above and beyond to ensure a perfect finished product. We were so happy with his work that we also had him realign and install new weather stripping for a french door.

Flavio and his team were very professional and courteous. He was flexible with our schedule and budget and went above and beyond to do the job that he was hired for. He even took it upon himself to correct issues that weren't part of the original agreement, but needed to be addressed. For example, he discovered that behind the window seat, beneath the bay window, there wasn't any insulation, so he pointed it out to us and repaired the issue at no additional cost to us. His carpentry work is very well done. He rebuilt a beautiful new window seat for us and installed a trim molding where the old mirror dividers were. We're extremely happy with is work and will definitely consider him for future projects.

I had a very positive experience with New York Carpentry. Flavio responded almost immediately to my inquiries and came over the same day to assess the job, which required tiling part of a backsplash, spackling and repairing drywall, installing wall and a ceiling lamp, installing a cat door, and hanging lots of different things (on cement, drywall and from a hollow shelf). Flavio gave me a reasonable quote, and a few days later all the work was done. I was very impressed with his work, his ability to solve problems, and his can-do attitude. I will definitely hire him again!

Excellent work. All staircases sturdy with no rotten wood. Shelves and back entrance look top notch. Flavio and his crew cleaned up afterwords and took away rotted wood. Nice personality, helpful, and honest.

This was my not my first time hiring Flavio. The previous contractor that did the sheetwall and the flooring did an awful job getting the walls plumb or level. The kitchen floor was off by more than 2 in level. At this point I was very upset and though Flavio had previouslt indicated he was busy, he was luckily available on short notice to install my cabinets. He along with his assistant began my job. I had purchased the top of the line cabinets and was worried that they would be eclipsed by the other problems. Flavio and his assistant started on a Monday and worked methodically in installing 13 cabinets. They were 42 inches up top and would be installed up to the ceiling. Flavio worked with another experienced kitchen installer and in a matter of days had executed what i thought would be an impossible task to making this kitchen look any good due to the bad walls and floor. But it came out better than I even imagined. The other bad construction is not noticeable bc of how well the cabinets were installed. The final challenge was the crown moulding. Even Flavio thought it may not come out well. But it was executed beautifully. They go all the way up to the ceiling and look amazing. If you are going to spend the kind of money you have to on a kitchen you should hire Flavio , because you wont regret it. He makes sure everything is cleaned up each day and he and his assistant are pleasant and comfortable to have in your home. I'd be happy to provide a reference if needed.

NY Carpentry did a excellent job ! - Cabinets were modified to perfection

All the work was performed in one day. I am very happy with the installation as all of the cuts are tight with minimal to no gaps at all. The moulding is straight and firmly secured. It's a professional job, and there is a big difference between his work and if I had done it myself. Flavio is very easy to work with. He was available on text for quick communications during the week prior and he does exactly what he says he is going to do. I will definitely hire him again to hang more moulding and possibly to build some cabinets and built ins.
