I decided not to keep the deal. No fault of the company.

I called New York Carpentry and spoke with Flavio(the owner), I wanted to install a dead bolt on my front door. He came on the same day, very pleasant and courteous individual. Installed the dead bolt for me and also made some adjustments on my door which was in bad shape, and didn't even charged me for the extra work. He covered the area where the work was going to take place, his helper was holding a vacuum whenever it was needed to contain the dust. My door looks great now, and functions perfectly. I am very pleased with the whole experience. Thanks Flavio.

Flavio called and scheduled a preliminary review of the job and I sent pictures. He arrived on time and was very courteous & professional. He took measurements and offered to pick up the material. To save time, he told me what to buy and I purchased everything on my own. His list of materials was complete (sheetrock, plywood, screws, 2" x 4"s, decorative wood for the windowsill) and required only one trip to Home Depot. On the agreed upon date, Flavio arrived around 8:30 am and began the project. It was a bigger job than it looked primarily due to the old latte and plaster headway that needed demolishing and removal. It involved about 7 contractor bags full of wood & plaster. Flavio was conscientious about the dust and put a throw cloth down. He works with a high level of integrity and a very committed and strong work ethic. He worked all day and framed out the walls, sheet rocked walls, fixed the wood trim around the window and put in a new window sill. He covered the joists with plywood. He recommended another contractor to do the finishing work - skim coating and plastering the new walls. We were impressed with his talent, integrity, and commitment to the job. He really cared about doing it right.

The quality of work was high. I appreciated the small considerations that Flavio and his team payed attention to. They were sure to take their shoes off when coming in. They were on time. They ensured that they did not scuff the floors and they cleaned up well at the days end. I am happy with the finished product and I think both rooms look excellent. Thank you Flavio.

There was a hatch door in the ceiling leading to an attic above an office off the family room, requiring a step ladder to access the attic space. To make the attic more accessible, I purchased a pull-down stair unit that I contracted with New York Carpentry to install. The installation job was promptly scheduled and the work performed in a very timely, high-quality, professional manner. The entire process was explained to me in detail, in advance beginning the job, so I knew exactly what to expect. I have several other carpentry projects -- large and small -- planned for the house and will definitely be calling New York Carpentry again.

Flavio is professional and efficient, and very easy to work with. He arrived on time on both days, and worked continuously throughout. Was very detail-oriented, versatile and had a great can-do attitude. He put protective coverings to prevent dust from spreading to other areas of the house, and thoroughly cleaned up after the job was done. He did an excellent job. We are very satisfied and would be happy to hire him again for other jobs.

Flavio partnered with me to discuss the details of the job, anticipate any issues ahead of time, and offer his recommendations upfront to save me time and money. He has all kinds of high end tools, sets up his work station and gets to work. I had to make him break to eat lunch! As we saw our kitchen getting that finishing touch (the molding), we were already thinking about next projects for him, like backsplash tile. We knew from talking with him and seeing his work that he is a carpenter, not a handy man. There is a huge difference. He has experience and talent and is pleasant and respectful. I would highly recommend him!

They were prompt to reply, but they are located in NY state and I need work done in Indiana. Should not have been sent to me by email as a "big deal"

Flavio is very considerate in providing information and answering your questions in regard to the project. In this case, their was some rot on exterior window trim. After some thought, I requested an estimate for Windows and trim and also decided it might be a good idea to replace the fascia boards on the dormer as well at the same time to save on future maintenance. The materials he used were above average including Crystal Windows and Azek trim boards for the window trim and fascia boards. I can't comment on how these products will hold up as its been only a few days, but I am happy with having a larger custom window that makes the attic room larger and also satisfied with look of the fascia trim. The windows from Crystal were better than Home Depot brand but in-line with what I was willing to spend on windows. The Azek has a 25 year warranty and hopefully it'll last longer than that. The workmanship was from my lay knowledge very good and though different from the original look, not unappealing. I received 3 other estimates for this project and the price was just about the same as the others, but Flavio seemed more knowledgeable about what he would do and was prompt in providing an estimate. i would certainly consider NY Carpentry again as a bidder for future projects.

They did the job custom cutting the wood very professionally done. The were able to do one deck in 3 days. The work went smoothly and I am please with the result. A year later I had a problem with the wood shrinking and therefore it pulled some of the nails from the post on the handle bar. I called them and show them the picture. They responded in a week and caulked and glued the areas. They said they would replace the handle if need be.

We cannot say enough good things about Flavio. We hired him to re-shingle a small area of our home before we repainted. It turned out that we deiced to re-shingle a much larger area due to the fact that the shingle were in pretty bad shape (the house is about 110 years old). We also had him rebuild a small staircase leading up to our rear porch. Everyday he and his crew showed up first thing in the morning as promised. They worked tirelessly thought the day, and cleaned up completely at the end of everyday. His workmanship is top notch. He is a craftsman who really cares about the quality of his work. We found his prices to be very fair and reasonable. Our house now looks great and we could be more pleased. We highly recommend Flavio and his company New York Carpentry.

Flavio Pinhan, the owner of New York Carpentry came to me all together three times as a subcontractor under Palette Pro. I was deeply impressed with his work at the first time when he shaved the bedroom door. I watched him doing the work and he had done a perfect shaving by only one shot ! For the second time, he also did the door works. His shavings were perfect but also I was very surprised with his idea of adjusting the narrow door bottom pieces. Now I can open and close the door over the foot-mat without any sticking or scraping it for the first time in 10 years! He is polite, pleasant , punctual and most reliable with great memories.
