Not only did Virginia do great work painting our trim, she was fast, reasonably priced and pleasant to work with. I'm so happy with the results! I would definitely use her again.

If you are looking for someone who is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of interior design, you have found the right person. We really can't say enough about Virginia. She is very professional, reasonably priced, easy to work with, neat and tidy, totally reliable and just an overall pleasure to work with. We were very comfortable leaving her in our home when we were away. On top of all that, her work is impeccable. She pays close attention to detail and doesn't rush through a job just to move on to the next. She is one of our favorite people to ever work for us in our home.

Our project involved several rooms and since it was wallpaper removal, it was unclear how easily the paper would come off. Virginia explained every step of the way with prices and all turned out exactly as we expected. The painting in the rooms was all beautifully done and her suggestions on color were superb. Also great was the fact that Virginia listens to all you say as far as expectations and your style. She assesses your style and likes and dislikes with room color very quickly and has suggestions that fit your style and taste. Also, she is extremely honest, which is very important when someone is in your house. We also liked the fact that she mostly alone, no "crew" of painters in your home. She is truly an artist and we are already am planning more projects with Virginia in a few months.

We are very pleased with the results and impressed by Virginia's talents. She listened to both of us, looked at our art and furnishings, and was able to devise a color scheme and glaze treatment that is just perfect. Our rooms are bright, the color compliments the floor and furnishings, and the glaze treatment adds character without overwhelming. Also, the quality of her work is excellent. She is a careful painter and good communicator, a pleasure to deal with.

I've gone thru several painters in the last 5 years. For one reason or another, I was never really satisfied. Needing various painting projects completed, I contacted Virginia thru Angies list, she was close, very flexible, and came highly rated from other users on Angies list. Met with Virginia and I outlined what I needed to have done in short and mid term time frames, as well as a long term vision. Our first project with Virginia was to repaint a small bathroom that another contractor screwed up and paint a small but challenging "sitting room". Very happy with the timing and quality of the work. Its important to find people willing to put forth the same effort and quality of work that they would put in their own house, and Virginia is very meticulous with her prep and finish work. Results with first 2 rooms were simply fantastic, we've since done a 3rd room together and when her schedule allows, we are going to continue with other painting projects in 2017.

Virginia is top-notch. This is the second time we've needed her services and, as expected, she did a fantastic job. She is ALWAYS on time, professional, and clean. AttentionHer job isn't just slapping paper on a wall; there are pattern and scale considerations, areas to maneuver around, seams to match. It really is a lost art. We couldn't be happier with the work she did. I would use anyone else.

She delivered everything she said she would. Price was as advertised. Very responsive and arrived on time. Very professional. Came with paint swatches and material so I could make a decision for decorating. If you are a person who has trouble making a plan to decorate a room, Virginia is well worth the money spent.

Came with several choices and both agreed on what the final products should be for our environment. Was able to guide me into a palate that would go with the existing wall paper and colors in the rooms I am looking to replace blinds and rug. I have a 1960's kitchen that had multiple layers of backing that had been papered over. Virginia put me in touch with an excellent remover to get the project started. She then meticulously repaired the walls and prepped them for papering. I ordered a very high-end art wallpaper that came untrimmed and required paste for hanging. Fortunately Virginia had worked with materials of this quality and from this company in particular so her experience was invaluable. Virginia visited my home several times to explain every step of the process and answer any questions I might have. She was very up front about pricing and provided itemized receipts for all work completed. She is a lovely person and a joy to work with. Her prices might be slightly higher than others, but it is 100% worth the cost for the highest quality work. Rest assured that everything will be completed correctly.

Virginia is a lovely woman with great taste! I thoroughly enjoyed working with her as she helped me pick out new paint colors for my home, new carpeting and new kitchen flooring. She brought samples for me to look at and we discussed many different options. She set me up with wonderful suppliers and installers, making the whole transaction seamless and without worry or problems, and I have had a very good experience working with her. Virginia is very professional and punctual, which I appreciate. I won't hesitate to call on her again in the future for other projects.

She was excellent. I am an artist and so I know color. However I was having trouble picking a color in two rooms because of their lighting. With her extensive experience she quickly helped me choose the two colors. She could imagine the effect of a color in the space from a small sample in a way I could not. One choice was especially brilliant, one I would never have thought of and will transform the room. I am grateful for her help because I was stuck and frustrated. I had tried several colors that did not work and wasted money on paint. I only wish I had called on her earlier. When we do finally move to a new house I will call on her to help me. I have successfully decorated several homes where we have lived so I am no novice. Still I know that I can learn a lot from Virginia and can avoid some mistakes. Also she was excellent at consulting. I have my own strong ideas and I do not like designers who come in and force their vision on a client's space. She listened to me and came up with suggestions that fit my preferences while giving me options that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. Very pleasant to work with.

It went fine. Second time purchasing her services. First purchase, color and price were settled on. Price was/is fair - will do at a future date. Second purchase, initial visit colors were discussed and colors were chosen and painting was started next day and finished third day. (Total of three days) Third day lighting changed - color for one room was too dark. Will rethink. Color chosen for living room was completely out of my comfort zone. It worked out beautifully. Looks wonderful. Lifted my mental health level many points. Virginia is knowledgeable and very meticulous. She is also tactful, observant and in my case insightful. Hope we will work again.

Virginia was great. Very professional and personable throughout the consult and the painting we hired her for. She worked around our schedule and we had no problems whatsoever with her or her work. She knows her trade that's for sure. We will be hiring her again when we get around to our second floor, and I will recommend her to all my friends. Do not hesitate to hire her.

She told us an estimate would come within a week, we never heard back from her. She did not return our phone call. We hired another contractor.

Badly. Virginia was asked to provide an estimate for painting the interior of our house and hanging wallpaper in the bathrooms. We hit it off at first and she visited 3 times to discuss colors and choice of wallpaper. We chose grasscloth wallpaper for the bathrooms and she agreed that it would look beautiful. I paid $450 for her time "consulting" with us. She set a fee of $2850 for painting the master bedroom and the bathroom trim and hanging the grasscloth wallpaper. She asked for 1/3 down in advance and I gave her $1500. Try as I might, I couldn't get her to give me an estimate for the work in the rest of the house. She showed up to begin painting our master bedroom without a crew. (We thought that she would bring in other painters so the work could be completed in a reasonable amount of time. She works 6 hours a day, (10-4) 4 days a week. She was stressed out at the end of the first week when my wife spoke with her about the work. She told my wife that "she was losing patience". (Admittedly, my wife is particular, but she isn't rude, and she was concerned about things such as painting the ceiling without first fixing loose ceiling tape.) After two weeks, Virginia managed to finish painting the master bedroom and some of the trim in the master bath. The work was OK, not exceptional. She immediately asked for payment for her painting work, and I paid her an additional $500. As a result she received all but $180 of the painting fee (papering was $700). My wife returned from a business trip, and noticed a few spots that needed touching up. We agreed that we'd give Virginia a list of required touchups and also agreed that we'd switch to another painter that could complete the work more quickly and wasn't as difficult to work with. I sent an email to Virginia telling her as much because Monday is her business day and I wanted to give her enough notice to allow her to book other work and avoid losing income. Today she showed up, told me that "wanted to be sure that we agreed about the work required for her to receive payment for the painting in the master bedroom and bathroom". We agreed to that, and I told her that I'd pay her the balance of her total fee after she completed the job of wallpapering and painting the bathroom trim. Then she told me that she wasn't going to do the wallpapering because she was told by 2 people this morning that it is a bad idea to use grasscloth wallpaper in a full bathroom, she couldn't guarantee the work and she was concerned that we wouldn't be satisfied and she wouldn't be paid. (This is despite the fact that I've paid every bill immediately without question.) This shocked me because she said nothing about this when we selected the wallpaper. (She claims to have mentioned it to my wife. I know that she said nothing to me.) I've already paid thousands of dollars for the grasscloth wallpaper. Her response was to tell me that I could return the wallpaper, but there would probably be a 30% restocking fee. (so I'd lose over a thousand dollars). I told her to pack up and leave. She said that she was fine with that because she had 3 other jobs lined up. In summary, she accepted a consultation fee, agreed to hang grasscloth, then refused to do so because now she thinks it is a bad idea. She has an attitude, works slowly, is an unexceptional painter, thinks people are out to cheat her, has no sense of customer service, and is an all-around pain in the a**. On the other hand, she was punctual. Every bit of the above is factual. Hire her at your own risk.

Colors Virginia helped me pick are really nice. Virginia was very accommodating in agreeing to do the job while we were away. No paint spills anywhere. The painting included vaulted ceilings which are not easy. Overall very good job.

Ms. Fisher is a wonderful designer and has a gift for color combinations. She came in and gave me some terrific ideas with how to freshen up an older house, which will soon go on the market. Painting a house to sell is a little trickier, as you need to be somewhat neutral, but also inviting. Virginia was a pleasure to work with, was incredibly prompt, and worked with me on color decisions. She did a beautiful job on both my bathroom and kitchen - and worked with me on pricing. I would certainly work with her again!!

a real expert, saved us a lot of wasted work

She was very together with scheduling. Came out to assess our bedroom and consult with us with what we wanted. We had attempted to start the job ourselves with an accent wall and made some mistakes with a dark paint. She painted our bedroom the color we wanted and even fixed some of the mistakes we made. She's so sweet and didn't mind our dogs constantly trying to be in her way. Definitely going to hire her again.

Virginia is a wonderful person as well as a talented artist. She developed an initial scope of what she felt would work best for our dining room, but quickly adapted with subtle changes based upon what she was seeing as the project progressed. She applied 2 base coats and then 2 applications of faux finishes in both pearl and copper, which made for a striking appearance. Virginia paid attention to every detail. She was meticulous in her work. Cleanliness of the jobsite was very important to her and markedly visible as an attribute of the pride she has in her work. She is professional while she works diligently, but she is also personable in the interludes to discuss her work and technique. We found Virginia to be a superb artist with whom we hope to have a long term relationship with future work. Very highly recommended!
