Excellent job. They conferred with us about the price of doing various jobs and offered advice on keeping the trees healthy. Very nice, agreeable, and respectful.

Gave us an estimate - we agreed to it. He and his 3 men arrived as promised and did the work professionally and neatly.

Jack is tree athlete who climbes without spikes and uses balance (rather than ladders) to perform his work. He began with a calm, composed assessment of branches' weight layout and then he precisely cut the huge tree limbs that rested on the shed. He and his two assistants worked in concert paying great attention to safety and detail for a few hours. The tree limbs and branches were cut and removed so no further damage was caused to the shed and surrounding gardens. Also, they pruned smaller trees and shrubs that sustained damage due to the initial fall. Jack recalculated the final cost to be less than the estimate since he completed the work in less time. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I have used this provider in the past and will continue to seek him out in the future due to his expertise and professionalism.
Description of Work: cut and removed many large branches from neighbor's tree that crushed a shed roof during a storm and then properly cut the raw break from the tree trunk.

Overall I was not happy. I spend 50 dollars for a certified arborist to come out to my home take a 20 minute look at my tree, tell me I have a problem and then says he will have to send my contact information to someone else for evaluation. When you hire a certified arborist there should be a service level here that at the very least will work with you and whom ever he sent my information to in order to resolve my initial problem. Without getting the other company mentioned into this review I have since began taking corrective action on my own through a local co operative extension. Update: Jack contacted me again and explained that he had learned that I was not happy with the service I had received. We talked at length about the visit and we agreed that in the future communication could improve on both sides. I typically do not try and contact a contractor again when I feel that the service performed was not up to my standards. In my previous experiences I find that this is just a typical waste of time. Jack is interested in making his services more clearly stated in the future and acknowledged the issues I had. We also talked about the entire process and the others involved that were not directly related to this service visit and how they could be improved. For that I had to update this post and say good job on fixing your mistakes. For the record he also offered to fix the issues I felt were flawed and the amount charged for his visit. I feel that it takes time and money to run a business and knowing ahead of time that I was going to be charged is a given. The service I asked for was what I got. General rule of thumb when hiring people for work. Have everything spelled out and clearly understand what is being done and for how much.
Description of Work: Jack came out and did an evaluation of my evergreen tree. He showed up on time and walked around the tree dug out a set of binoculars and looked at the top. He took a sample from one of the branches and proceeded to tell me that there was a problem with it but he was unsure of what the condition was. He said he would pass along my information to another service who in turn would call me. He took a couple pictures with his phone and was at my property for about 20 minutes. He did inform me on the phone prior to his arrival that this could be a hit or miss and the possibility of not being able to do anything at that day was realistic.

He looks over the tree first. He goes over with you what a tree might need. He is informative. I don't have a basic comparison for price. I have used them more than once.
Description of Work: I used Magai Arboriculture for tree service. I had quite a bit of work done and it was over a $1000.
