..He worked fast but fairly dependably the first 2 years. Did need reminders then, but responded and did the work mostly acceptably. We used him for 3 years, but in the second year our lawn was often too dry to be mowed, and there was not that much snow either. Therefore the work was quite easy for the payment then. During the winter of 2013-2014 he became unprofessional. . He could sometimes not be reached because of "full " phone message system or because he left town without notice and without coverage. In the latter case we had to find a replacement. Needless to say we signed no further contracts.
Description of Work: Contracted to mow our lawn weekly or less if too wet or too dry. Contracted to plow or driveway if there was more than 3 inches of snow. He was paid per season.

Note this provider does not reside at the stated address. He now uses a post office box. He did not always come to plow as agreed. However, he plowed more than he shoveled. It was necessary to call him on multiple occasions, but often I found his mailbox was "full." I concluded that he was receiving complaints from others, too. As tiresome as this routine had become, I called him again before the forecast for a major snowfall and received a message that he was out of town until March 6, He did add, "I'm sorry for any inconvenience." Bottom Line: It was necessary to find someone else to do shoveling and snow plowing for last two major snowfalls. Admittedly, I was very angry when I heard the message that he was out of town and I let him know it. Of course, he offered no apology upon his return but he did send a "contract" for seasonal lawn service. Such gall angered me all the more. I put up with sloppiness and many no shows for lawnwork as well as snow removal, especially in the past year. Most likely I should have terminated him sooner; I extended the benefit of the doubt way too broadly, which was my fault, I suppose.
Description of Work: Had agreed to do snow plowing and clear the sidewalks. I found it necessary to call on multiple occasions to clear the sidewalks (part of the deal). Work not performed as agreed during most of season and not performed at all toward end of season.

Did not show up for three weeks in December/January--then when he did not show up at end of February after a 4.3 inch snowfall, I had to text to ask for service again. He was in Florida and had left no one to cover for him! I had to engage another service. I used Mike for 10 years but in the last 2 years his service for plowing and landscaping has seriously deteriorated. I am now headed to small claims to recoup the money I had to pay the new plow service for the remainder of the winter. 1. Did not show up to plow when snow was more than 3"--the amount in the contract that required plowing 2. Did not perform Spring Cleanup till well into May. When it was too late to mulch. 3. Told me he was in Florida with no coverage at the end of February. I had to engage a new service and repay for services.

Tri-star has been doing lawn and garden work (as well as snow plowing) for me over the past three years. Owner complies with all instructions and requests. If a worker causes a mishap (e.g., snow plow nicks some lawn edging), it is called to my attention before I even notice. Then, of course, the problem is corrected.

Owner was uncooperative when I called and told him about the weeds and the poor job trimming the bushes. He tried to convince me that weeds were ground cover. He asked if the garden was already in place when I moved in. I have lived here for 19 years, I know when the weeds appeared and I know that I did not plant them. He agreed to send a worker today to finish job, no one came. He said he will send someone tomorrow. If he does, I will update.
Description of Work: Owner said he is a professional landscaper who does not plant flowers or deal with grass. He trimmed small shrubs, did not trim larger bushes. He claimed that I asked for trimming not "size reduction". He mulched around weeds and told me they were ground cover. I told him they were weeds and that I had not planted ground cover. There are dandelions still growing in these weeds. he did not pull ivy off fence as agreed, he did not pull weeds along side fence as agreed.
