They were excellent, they were prompt, they did what they said they would do and I felt that they were very honest. They let me go purchase my own faucet instead of insisting on me buying one of theirs. Roy's plumbing is the only company that I have used who put on those clean booties without being asked.

We had no problems with them. They were a little expensive, but they told me a head of time how much it would cost. They came on time and got the job done quickly.

They called me 30 minutes before they were going to come out. The tech was very professional, he was in and out in about an hour, he cleaned up after himself and my sink was no longer leaking.

While the actual work was fine, the amount of money that we were charged for the job was absolutely ridiculous. My wife was told that it would cost $500 to simply put on the new basin. My wife declined to have the work done and was then told that she would have to pay a substantial fee for just having the estimate and not doing work. When she asked how long it would take to do, the plumber replied "45 minutes." My wife pointed out that $500 in 45 minutes is more than a neurologist make. Needless to say she went ahead with work in order to avoid being charge a large fee for nothing but a quick estimate that could have easily been done over the phone. We called the company and complained but to no avail. Avoid Roy's as they seem to enjoy taking advantage of people.

All went very well. The technician cleared roots and other debris from the sewer drain. The only issue was the price.

After several stories about how hard he was working to clear my drain and telling me (a female) how afraid he was that this would require $7000 and large equipment, he gave up and left me with a quote to "excavate (sic) at the foundation. We will remove the broken section & check the remaining line. We will repair the line. Have the job inspected. We will then backfill. We are not responsible for landscaping cost -$3667.80." Next day I call ADVANCED SEWER CLEANING and they cleared the line in <30 minutes for $65 without any problems, moaning, or scare tactics and reported that nothing is broken and that the job was routine.

Except for taking apart the shower faucet to clear out the grit, this plumbing experience was a disaster! In attempting to disassemble the bathroom basin hot water knob, he scuffed the chrome fixture with his pipe wrench (it slipped off the rag ). This was part of a custom fixture set that matched everything in a recently remodeled full bathroom. He did not offer to replace or pay for his bungling. He then stretched out (ie: broke) my strap wrench. Again, he did not offer to replace it. Finally he goes out to his truck to bring in his professional strap wrench, but still could not remove the fixture. While he is calling in to get more expensive quotes for my job I asked him to call and find out what other work had been done at this address (because I knew the COLD water fixture had been similarly fixed by Roy's just last year). He flat out LIED and said that it was a flapper that was fixed recently. That previous job was under my roommate's name so he thought it a previous owner.

I called Roy's because I had a slow drain on one side of my duplex (I live there myself). They would not give any pricing on the phone other than telling me there was a $30 estimate fee if they did not do the work. The "tech" showed up on time. He was very smug. On one side he barely glanced at any of the drains, no flashlight. Just opened the floor covers. On the side where there was a known backup he pointed out some other work that I should have them do. He then quoted $210 off the top of his head. I thought it was high, but said it was OK for the 4 drains (3 were all attached on one side. He said that was for the one drain. The others would be additional. I would never agree to have any estimate where there is an up front estimate price. 48 hours after I submitted this report I received my check back, voided and with no explanation.

They did fix the problem as they just cut off a section of the bad pipe and put a new one on. They were an emergency situation because I didn t want my basement to flood. I didn t have any time to call around and they overcharged me. The price was just ridiculous. I would never use them again due to this. They did come right away and the pipe hasn't leaked since they fixed it.

They charged a ridiculous price for this work. It was almost twice what it should have been. Because of the price I simply can't say anything nice about them. I would strongly warn other Angie's List members about this company's pricing policies. I'll never use them again.

I was not pleased because they didn t offer us any options. The guy said he could fix the toilet for $165 or replace it for $365. We told him that we went all the way to Erie, Pennsylvania to get the current toilet because it matches our other fixtures. We only needed a little part to be fixed on the toilet to make it stop running. We told him we were not interested in any of his options. Therefore, we went and bought the part ourselves, which was only three bucks, and then fixed it ourselves. They sent us a bill for $65, which was just for the service call. We did pay that, but we would never recommend them to other people because they are not professional and they will try to rip you off.

I am not sure how good a job they did since I ended up replacing the sewer line anyway. I was upset over the price because there seemed to be all these hidden fees that they did not tell me about up front before they started the job.

Roy's is great. They give us discounts and coupons since we have been using them for so long. There was one time we were charged too much. They gave us a credit and let us know. They're quite honest and very personable.

Roy's is honest and dependable. They are easy to talk to. They are competent and consistent. They cover it all when it comes to heating or plumbing needs. I am totally pleased with them.

Busy company. Could not come to do work for a week but was only one who would do complete project. Others would not do concrete replacement. Came promptly on day promised and completed all work with explanations of what they were doing. They were neat and personable. Came back week later to do concrete. Try to sell you extras at time of estimate and on the job. Overall pleased with work.

THEY CAME OUT AFTER I CALLED FOR AN ESTIMATE. THEY CHARGED FOR THE ESTIMATE, WHICH I WAS NOT TOLD THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE FOR THE ESTIMATE. THE ESTIMATE WAS FOR A NEW TANK, NEW GAS LINE AND REMOVAL OF THE OLD TANK. THEY SAID THEY WERE HIGH DUE TO THE ADDITIONAL WORK. MY OTHER ESTIMATES WAS FOR THE SAME WORK.

The repairman was very nice and did the job well, but Roy's charges $50 just to come out and look at the problem and then don't credit that amount to the overall bill. That seemed odd to me. I will probably not use them again just because of this extra charge.

The plumber told us it would be $80 to try to unplug it with an auger. If he needed to take off the toilet it would be more than $150 and then another large charge to put it back on. We had another plumber come who charged us $20 (we gave him $30) and had it running fine in 10 minutes. He had a good idea of what the problem was (waste backing up into the smaller toilet and not enough water pressure to get it back down) BEFORE he started. The guy from Roy's was just quoting from the book and really seemed like he didn't want to do it.

Sal and his helper Kevin were prompt, courteous and extremely helpful. They were very knowledgeable.

Their ''flat fee'' is by each section of the jobs. While the plumber is skilled and works neatly, the prices are ridiculously high. Even with full list price for material, the labor charges are not broken down. Total labor was 4hrs! I was in a bind moving into the area recently and needed this work done immediately. To top it off, they try to sell a preferred customer fee to give priority to future work of $179. I would never do business with this co. again! I felt totally ripped off.

I then went to Lowe's plumbing department and got some FREE advice from one of their knowledgeable employees who suggested I try a small, hand operated auger/pipe snake to open the clog, which I purchased for $9.88 plus sales tax. Within a couple of minutes I broke the clog, which was very small. I then screwed the access cap back in place, ran water in all sinks and tubs and flushed all toilets and found all drains to be free flowing with no leaks. PROBLEM SOLVED - FOR $9.88 plus tax instead of the $1004.95 plus sales tax quoted by the plumber, who charges not by the hour for his services, but by some insidious new method called FLAT FEE. The flat fee method is obviously inappropriate for small jobs like this - it encourages estimating high, getting the job done as fast as possible to maximize the rate of return per hour, and then quickly move on to the next victim. I averted a near financial disaster.

They are very professional, they will only charge you a trip fee of $29 if they come out look at the job and you decide not to have them do it, which is a lot less than others here in the area. The plumber was very courteous, he put on the little slip covers as soon as he stepped foot in my house. He replaced the faucet, and the company even followed up with a follow up call to make sure everything was okay. The price was reasonable for the job in my opinion, and my faucet is working fine.

I heard about Roys Plumbing by an advertisement. I was very pleased with their work. The owner even came due to a special problem to try to solve the problem and did get it fixed.

Roy's Plumbing tried to rip me off, the price was very high compared to when I've had it fixed before. They tried to fix more than needed to be fixed.

Roys Plumbing was very neat and clean. They are very courteous and polite. They responded right away to my phone call, and came when they said they would. They were really good at explaining what was going on, and what had to be done.
