absolutely phenomenal. I am not a handy type, I don't understand plumbing and such. I called toys, they came the next day, and offered to come same day but I was unavailable. TJ gave me several options, they fixed the problems, cleaned Jo, left me a service folder explaining more about the company, a drain maintenance cleaner, and even. Sent a thank you card a few days later. I'm not sure that I couldn't have had the same work done CHEAPER, but I really don't care because it was quick, professional and complete. Excellent service makes it worth paying a little more. I would definitely recommend this company.

The job took around 1 hour. They acted and worked professionally. Unclogged the drain and explained what caused it, also offered a warranty for their work. Cleaned up and left. Upon my final inspection I realized that the drain stopper was not reconnected, so I considered calling them back to fix it. Not knowing how long it would take for them to come back , I decided to finish the job myself (I'm handy), It took me almost an hour to set it in place due to twisted pipe. I was a little upset that the job was not completed by them. However , I was happy to have it fixed and ignored their oversight.
Description of Work: I had a clogged bathroom sink. Roy's offers a $99 deal for any sink, so I called and set up an appointment. Two service people showed on time and well presented. They told me that there was a service charge of $29 in addition to $99, I agreed, I had Angies coupon for 20% off that was not accepted due to the fact that $99 was a special offer and can not be combined with any other offers. The service charge was explained when I set up the appointment.

They were neat and efficient. There was no discrepancy between the estimate and the price. I was satisfied with the work and will call them again. They are not the cheapest, pricewise, but we got quality work and I am satisfied with what they did and I think I got value for the money.
Description of Work: I used Roy's Plumbing Heating & Cooling to work on my gas fired boiler. They also put in a new toilet, a stationary tub in the basement and did some drainage work in the basement.

After doing a little bit of research, I find that they tend to oversell. They want to provide more services than I really need. We had an emergency with carbon monoxide and we had to sit outside until about 3 in the morning until they got somebody over here. We had trouble getting them in. I had called them at around 10:30 or 11:00 in the evening and told them about the emergency and so on and they didn’t get anybody out here till about 3 in the morning. The work that they did was fine but they were pricey and they always try to find something more to do. We would not use them again in the future.

I bought one of their service contracts so the price was included in the service contract and I would never do that again. The technicians that come out to the house really are untrained to go out to people's homes. The last one that was here checking my furnace shocked himself. I heard a snapping noise and I saw him pull his hand back real fast. The light to my house dimmed so he did something. I was concerned for his well-being. It frightened me. One time before that somebody else was here told me that there was some part in my air-conditioning unit that was not appropriate and was going to drain all the energy from my house. The time before I had trouble with my high efficiency furnace, which is only 4 years old. He came out within the hour and gave me a list of 4 different things. I needed a whole blower costing several thousands of dollars. It was a new furnace and it was still under contract with somebody else. I really was not happy with Roy's at all. They might not be as knowledgeable as maybe another company. The technicians come out and they want you to give them feedback. They give you a post card that is already stamped. All you have to do is put in your comments and send it out to the company. I didn't send it back because I was a little reluctant to put something nasty. I am still under contract with them. The technician sent me a thank you note that was so sickening and saccharin sweet. They are terribly expensive. I have problems with a pipe between my house and my septic tank and they gave me a price of over $4000.00. He asked me to have my septic tank pumped out so I called this company to have my tank pumped. When he came out and I told him the issues I had, he said he could dig that up himself and charge me $500.00, so he did it for less than $1000.00. Roy's was going to charge me over 4000.00 and that was a senior discount. He gave me a few hundred dollars off. They were very pricey. I don't think they know what they are doing. I don't think they are trained to come out to do homes and take care of problems. They have been here a number of times and I have never felt confident. They were pretty good on responsiveness. They came within an hour and they called before they came. The guys try but they don't know what they are doing. I would never call Roy's again.

they installed a new furnace. Had to call them back several times after installation. Very dissatisfied with service. At first I had no problem with them but had to keep calling them back to fix certain things with the furnace. Would NEVER call them for anything again. My advise is to call a more reputable company like John Lock they are more professional. I had them install a new central air system & never had a problem once installed. In fact they are now doing the yearly furnace check for us instead of Roys

The total time of job completion was about 75 minutes and crew sat in their truck in front of our house for 20 minutes before leaving to next job. I believe that $420.00 an hour was excessive for a job that was not as complicated as originally qutoed. Note: Update 7/21/2011 Within a few days of my posting on Angies List, a representative of Roy's Plumbing, Heating & Cooling contacted me to learn, in detail, my grievance with his company. He attentively listened to my concerns and offered several options to rectify my apprehension. The next day, promptly at the scheduled time, a Roy's representative arrived at our home and set right any/all grievances I had previosly posted. I will use Roy's sevices in the future and was impressed with their professionalism.
Description of Work: A crew of two arrived on time to replace a broken 4" waste drainage PVC pipe in the basement. Replacement pipe had to be accessed through back of kitchen cabinet and fed to basement connection. The cabinet had been emptied of all items and I replaced turn-table shelving at jobs completion. The workers that came to our house were very well-mannered and clean-dressed. They have very specialized crews for specific jobs. The cost for this work was $3,500.
Description of Work: First of all, they installed a furnace. They noticed that the de-humitifer was located in the wrong place, and re-routed it to the correct place on the furnace. They cleaned out all of the air ducts. They checked our a/c and even gave us proof of purchase for a r esidental conservation incentive program for a $250 rebate from the gas company.

Roy's came out last year to look at our broken sump pump. They recommended a new one - underground/double float. Never wanting water problems in our basement we did it on the spot - costed us about $800.00. Not really knowing this company, we trusted they were honest and fair. So this year, just a year later, the sump pump failed. We noticed an alarm and beeping indicating a float issue. Hoping it was still under warranty, I called Roy's to come and check on it. They arrived the same day which was great. We apparently needed to replace it (unusual for this product as it's a very good pump I was told). The service man had one on his truck, completed and tested it in about 10 minutes. He was very thoughtful and kind. And best of all it was all under warranty (5yrs) so it didn't cost a thing.

We moved into a new house and needed a gas line run to the dryer. We also were looking to get a leaky faucet completely replaced and shut-off valves installed. Upon arrival, the Roy's employee was very upfront with their prices and I decided to have some of the work done but not all due to their high prices. They replaced the gas line and fixed the leak but we chose not to have the faucet replaced or the shut-offs installed. Fixing the leak was not guaranteed but months later it is still holding. The Roy's employee was very nice and did not pressure me into getting all of the work done.

My phone call to Roy's was greeted with a friendly helpful person. I was able to get an appointment that afternoon as I was off work that day and didn't want to take further time off work. The technician arrived during the scheduled period and evaluated the pipe issues and the sump pump. He explained to me what needed to be done and he thoughts on my sump pump. We further discussed options to replace the sump pump as well as pricing on both activities. I decided to not only have the pipes replaced but to have my sump pump replaced as well. The work was done quickly and efficiently. Roy's is the best!
Description of Work: Original call was the fix the pipes that connected the sump pump outflow to the drainage pipes that went to the storm sewer. An evaluation and discussion occured regarding my sump pump along with a discussion of my options and I decided to replace the sump pump as well.

It came to no surprise to us, that the 3" copper sewer drain failed since we had previous plumbing failures in our 37 year old Marrano House. The failure occurred at the 45 to 90 degree fitting joint where a hole had actually broken through the copper pipe. Contacted ROY's Plumbing since they had taken over for Douglas Plumbing located in Orchard Park, NY of which we were previous customers. Douglas was very good at what they did and reasonable! Prior to contacting Roy's Plumbing, consulted with Home Depot's plumbing adviser who convinced me to hire a plumber to effect repairs. DYI parts cost consisting of $20 in plastic fittings, $12.00 in Schedule 40 pipe, two rubber sleeves with clamps ($14.00) and glue about $10.00. Biggest concern was the introduction of sewer gas into the basement during the repair. I was pleasantly surprised that Roy's could be out the same day. There was an $29.95 upfront service call fee if the work was not to be done. Roy's was punctual and the bad news was given right away. Repair was to cost $355 flat rate. However, the repair used the same fittings as noted before except the clamps were a bit heavier than the ones at Home Depot maybe adding to the cost an additional $20.00. The job took 1 .25 hours to complete. However, still had to pay the $355. Note the tech was not about to remove the $29.95 charge until I had mentioned my conversation with the telecom operator. Overall, the job was done on time but at a very high price. The job should have been priced out at around $240.00 assuming tech's time, parts and company's burden. Before having work done by Roy's, recommend shopping around to find a more reasonable plumber.

I was using another company earlier. They did work only on the heating. They did not do any plumbing work. My heater system circulates hot water and there was a problem a few winters ago. It required a plumber to fix it. They could not do it. I called Roy?s Plumbing. They did both the plumbing and the heating jobs. I have continued to use them. They are pretty prompt when we call them for service. They are very expensive but when we need them, we need them.

Tech arrived on time and was very curteous. It was a HEAVY sales pitch from the onset. Tried repeatedly to sell me their PM packages. Went to basement to check internal unit and came back up with a shopping list of things i supposedly needed. Informed me that my hot water tank was leaking carbon monoxide. Asked him what test he ran and he told me he just could tell visually. Ive been in the construction business 30+ years and told him that was impossible. Quoted a price of $1500 to replace tank.RIDICULOUS...Never cleaned or checked exterior unit due to really bad weather conditions.Did not charge for the BOGUS evaluation.Again, their "special" is to get themselves into the door and sell, sell, sell

I decided I no longer needed the "Sliver Membership", and proceeded to review the terms and conditions of the contract. Nowhere did it say I could not receive a refund so I contacted the company and requested a pro rated refund. Upon speaking to two representatives on or around 15, 16, 0r 17 September; they stated that no refund would be given due to the fact that they made two service visits to my home, fixed the unit, and didnt charge me. The cost alone they argued exceeded what I paid for the "Membership" however I counterclaimed that all repairs fell under their "Trouble Free Summer". One of the employees even admitted that the "contactor" used to fix my unit was in fact a used part while the other person I spoke to said its value was in the around $188.00 OVERALL, my issues are with the fact that while on military duty they tried to "charge" my wife for the "used" part and she had to argue with them to get it resolved. My other issue is simply the fact that Roys is insisting that because the costs of their service visits far outweighed my cost in membership, I am not entitled to a refund yet two things here: if I had been paying monthly, I would simply stop paying and two; the visits were covered under their "trouble free summer". I am all for holding companies that want our hard earned dollar accountable, and feel this is unacceptable.
Description of Work: 5/22/2009 Purpose of service request was for advertised "Trouble Free Summer". In addition to the standard fee, I enrolled in their "Silver Club Membership", and paid in full. Technician Russo stated that the membership would include a furnace tune-up. Tune up completed, all appeared in good working order. 6/16/2009 Service on air conditioning unit requested, would not stop running which resulted in me having to pull circut breaker from unit to shut off. Technician arrived, stated no problems found but I did suggest cause could be associated with batteries in thermostat. From my statement, he concluded that as cause. Due to military duty, I was away and wife handled call. After technician departed, the water hose was left running, and caps from unit were left lying on ground. After unit was looked at, the technician proceeded to examine my furnace and stated there was a cracked inducer motor abd advised wife not to run unit until replaced. Quoted new motor at $509.00. Shortly thereafter (no date placed on service invoice), same problem had occured. I was away on military duty and wife called in service. Technician Russo arrived, and diagnosed the malfunction as a faulty "contactor". Upon completion of repair, Russo stated to my wife there was a charge for replacement (somewhere in the one to two hundered range). My wife argued the repair fell under "trouble free summer" program.

I would never call Roys for ANYTHING !
Description of Work: My furnace quit in the middle of winter. I have an 80 year old and a 3 month old living with me. Roy's came out on Friday and told me I needed a new furnace and they could do it monday. We waited until Sunday when the house was down to 40 degrees and called someone else. They came in and spun a little fan on the furnace that had been stuck. Now it works fine. Roys wanted to sell me something, not fix my problem. They left my family at risk just to make money. And I paid a $50 fee for the privledge.
