NYSERTA confirmed coverage of the $250 Audit cost. Audit 5/20/2015 - Peter pointed out deficiencies in insulation and gaps where heat was going from my main floor through the attic right out side. I explained my limited ability to fund changes so the need to focus on small changes that would have big impact and then other projects which may be more but had compelling return on investment. Peter pointed out things I could do myself or with a handy man. He reported no gas leaks or issues of that type. Audit Report 5/28/2015 - Report reviewed their recommendation with 2 packages. It left some items out that were discussed and I sent an email with questions for response to clarify as there were two items we discussed I wanted to cover. Peter responded to my email for clarifications in a few days. Peter was also helpful in giving opinions about the roofing job I was letting out. I decided to break out the package into two phases leaving the cellulose wall insulation for another year. I will have them do the things only a professional can do. I have scheduled the following for the first week in August. Timing is my choice to give me time to prepare the area. >Rim Joist Foam Insulation >Attic Air sealing measures >Air sealing exterior door measures >Bath Exhaust >Attic access tent In preparation for their work I have had an exterminator in to remove a hornets nest found in the attic during the audit and I need to move stored items from 3 feet of the basement exterior walls and the attic. I also had a carpenter open up an access portal to a back attic gable. 8/3/2015 - The team arrived on time as scheduled and immediately started work. They had me inspect each area of treatment. I found a few spots they came back and caulked. I had a concern about how the attic ladder insulating tent was installed which was corrected. Pete came back and inspected after a 2 week wait which allowed the foam to cure and in some cases pulled away. He fixed those places and adjusted the doors which were tight with the weather stripping. I had an excellent experience and I would hire them again when I can to complete the recommendations.
Description of Work: I contacted New Buffalo Impact to do a Home Energy Audit. I had filed through NYSERTA for an audit and looked up each qualified vendor on Angie's list. I liked what another reviewer had so say about them and discarded a number of other vendors for high pressure up-sale tactics. Peter was prompt for the audit appointment and explained the process he would be using.
I spent $11,000 for the windows and extra $8,000 for all new frames. They were very good and very punctual too, and they cleaned up well. The crew was good too. They know their stuff, they do the work well, and they stand by everything. They come back and correct if there was something missing or anything, they are very good. They are like a family to me. I have come to know him so well for the past 2 years.
Description of Work: New Buffalo Impact installed 15 windows for me this spring. They did all new energy efficient doors, screen doors, some electrical, they did a lot of carpentry, and I had all new trims on the outside of the house for all the windows. The trims have matched the color of the soffit, just to coordinate it all and get rid of the white paint. Carl Panzarella is the owner.

The Auditor, Jay, came to our home and explained the services we would receive, which included a new refrigerator from Sears. Beginning on March 3, 2014 the crew consisting of George, Mike and Kenny commenced working on our basement. They were very efficient and extremely kind. On 3/4/2014 Jay returned to examine the work and the crew started working outside as well. By Wednesday, the 5th everything was finished. I would recommend this company to anyone who has an older home which needs to be made more energy efficient. The best part is we paid nothing and got great service as if it had cost us a great deal.
Description of Work: NBI provided insulation and energy services over a period of three days through the Energy Emporment program.

See above - no complaints - big complex job went smoothly.
Description of Work: New Buffalo Impact acted as general contractors for a significant interior rehab of my house (including plumbing and complete rewiring, some sheet rocking) and they insulated, westernized and replaced my windows with energy efficient windows. Almost a year later I could not be more pleased. They did a great job at.great price - were courteous and professional throughout - I highly recommend their services. They have integrity and know what they're doing. Thanks to Bill and his team.
