Frank's Basement Systems

Technician removed and cleaned sump pit and reinstalled sump pump. A little messy jop, especially for winter, but technician tried to keep things clean. I did have to ask about checking backup pump and battery, as I thought was part of the inspection, but after mentioning, the technician inspected the system. Knowledgeable of system and answered questions I had.

Jim was very polite and knew how to handle the job very well. Replaced the faucet and sprayer and cleaned up any mess that was made. Have always have very good service from them.

I came home and was shocked to find my kitchen floor covered in water. The source seemed to be the sink in the utility area off my kitchen (along an outside wall), which didn't make sense because the valve for that sink had been turned off for quite some time because of a previous leak. When I ran down to the basement to shut off the water, I found that valve was indeed already off so I had to shut the next closest valve which also cut water to my kitchen sink and 1st floor bathroom. I have used Mr. Plumber a couple times with good results in the past and checked Angie's list for good measure. I called them first thing the next morning and I was told they could have someone out within the hour. Marc arrived well within that time frame. He was very efficient and thorough in checking the problem area and he explained what he was thinking as he went along. It turns out it wasn't a frozen/burst pipe after all, but a faulty shut off valve that caused the problem. He explained my options, and I chose to have him cap the line in the utility room. He quoted me a price for the job, checked his truck for the part, and told me he needed to go back to the warehouse to get the part. He was back within 20 minutes and the job was finished up soon thereafter. I was able to get to work without missing the whole morning.

This issue arose because a previous owner had installed a half-finished room in our basement. When we began to get a leak that was located from somewhere behind that area, possibly around the window, it became clear that it needed to come out. Upon tearing down the paneling, we noticed some foundational issues that needed to be addressed as well. We requested bids from 4 local companies, and Frank's stood out in professionalism, thoroughness, and responsiveness. Mike Ciocca wrote up a clear proposal to address the issues, and came back for a second meeting to answer a full page of questions that I sent back in response so that everything was clear to us before they started. Scheduling got a little hairy with a winter blizzard, but Mike was always responsive and before long, Chris and his construction crew went to work. They finished the entire project in 2 and 1/2 days with minimal disruption to our schedules and those of our neighbors (they needed access to the windows which were next to the neighbor's driveway). In fact, they were there early every day. They even fixed some shoddy work by a previous contractor, reinforcing our existing beams to the floor joists with steel plates, and helping us to locate a subcontractor to tear out that horrible room when it turned out that we couldn't manage the task ourselves. Thus far, we've been very pleased with the work done. Getting such a large construction project done on the house was a stressful process (especially around the holidays), but working with the Frank's team was the best experience we could have hoped for in our situation. Although they are on the high end of the price scale, they were not the most expensive bid we received, and were certainly the most thorough and professional. Highly recommend.

Scott was very professional and helpful. Didn't overcharge and gave some important tips on how to maintain sinks/toilets and prevent them from clogging. Very happy with the service.

Installer was very knowledgable and conscientious. He placed shutoff valves and boxes at convenient locations. The work completely met our expectations, we have no complaints.

I called at 10 am and explained that we had some water in the basement from what we believed was a frozen pipe leading to an outdoor faucet. An appointment was made for 2-4 pm the same day and I said I would be home all day. I waited at home throughout that time, then called at 4:20 when no one had arrived. I was informed that someone had called at 3 pm, leaving a message requiring that I call the office to confirm my appointment before a technician would be dispatched to my home. Unfortunately, my cell phone had not rung when they called and it went directly to voicemail. I asked why a secondary confirmation was necessary when I had made the appointment only that morning?? I was dismissed and told that I might have gone out for milk and not been home. I understand that it is frustrating for a service company to sometimes have customers who are not at home when they say they will be. On the other hand, since I was not informed that a secondary confirmation would be required of me, I was not glued to my cell phone as I worked around my house today. If Frank's Mr. Plumber is going to cancel appointments because of a lack of a SECOND confirmation of a need for service, they should let customers know that ahead of time. I will never use this company again. Not only did I lose precious time during which I had pressing errands I delayed for the appointment, I STILL have water leaking into the basement and no one here to address it. I was counting on their service and expected better follow-through from a company rated so highly on Angie's List.

His recommendation was that he was unable to do what the Big Deal was for and gave me a quote for the service he'd need to do but it costs too much.

Franks was one of the five companies we interviewed. The representative provided educational materials, which we appreciated. The sales tactics were pushy, but not as bad as EverDry. However, they kept calling! Leaving obnoxious messages like, "You said you'd call me back!" I may not know much, but I do know that requesting an estimate is not a promise of business! We didn't appreciate being treated this way. We found a highly recommended company (Comprehensive Mold Management) which disagreed with Frank's assessment and did adequate work for much less. We went with them.

It went great. The toilet is sitting on an uneven old tile floor, and that's how the leak started (apparently many years ago, but ever so slowly). Frank's guy found a solution, and the problem was solved. The service was excellent, quick, and reasonable.

Just like one of the earlier folks, our water heater pooped out on a Friday as well. After using Angie's List, we decided on Mr. Plumber and gave them a call. The lady answered the phone quickly, and was as pleasant and professional as anyone could expect. She asked if it was OK if they came on Saturday instead of Friday night. I was agreeable to that so it was arranged. The installer would be calling around 09:30 - 10:00 to let us know he was on the way. Saturday morning, just as planned, we got a call at 09:30. It was Pat who was going to be our Technician calling to let us know he would be there in 20 minutes. The installation went flawlessly and quickly, even though Pat took the time to explain everything from what he was going to do to how to operate and set the heater. What a pleasant experience that came out of a major annoyance! I guess the price was a little on the high side, but then I don't have a lot of experience putting in water heaters on a Saturday, do I? I do know that I looked on the internet for the model we put in and Mr Plumber's price for the unit itself was comparable.

i was given a time when the plumber would come and he arrived when they said he would; the plumber was friendly and courteous, he assessed the problem and then fixed it by reseating the toilet which apparently wasnt placed properly and he checked to make sure he had fixed the problem. I would definately use them again

Faucets were replaced, and they look and work really well. Very punctual, very professional. Pricing felt a bit high, in the sense that an Amazon purchase of the same faucet and a reasonable hourly rate would be about $100 less than the $400/installed faucet.

Mike was on time, very friendly and professional and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done and quoted us a very fair price. This is definitely a company that genuinely cares about their customers.

Our hot water went on a Friday night, of course. We'd had a good experience with this company regarding waterproofing our basement, so we thought we'd see how the were rated on Angie's List. After we saw they had an 'A,' we gave them a call. I was surprised and very pleased that they were able to come out the very next morning to replace our hot water tank, as we have a newborn and didn't want to be using only cold water for very long for everything you can imagine. The price was higher than I'd hoped, but we got a plumbing grade hot water tank as opposed to one you can buy at the big box stores, and I'm pleased with the product so far. So overall, a good experience and I would use them again.

I am very pleased with them. I see an improvement in my lawn. He is very knowledgeable. He will advise me on various things.

Simply put, this company has awesome service. They are true professionals that care about customer service. In my situation I had tree roots in the clay sewer line (1960's home) that over time caused recurring sewer backups. When I called them they made certain they showed up that day even though it was a weekend. The "on-call" person attempted to clear the line but was unable to break through. The following day another person showed up and used a smaller snake to punch through what turned out to be tree roots in the line. After clearing out the line they ran a camera into the pipe to confirm everything was ok. A day or so later I noticed that the drain in my basement utility sink was still clogged. It was an honest oversight but this was quickly remedied upon calling the company. I actually spoke with Frank, the owner, and he was wonderful! He promised a plumber would come back over at no additional charge to complete the job. They did, and I couldn't be happier. I would use them again (and again) and highly recommend Frank's Mr. Plumber!

Arrived promptly, worked steadily through day (did not break for lunch). Completed job in just over six hours, excellent workmanship. Replaced removed sod, seeded and graded where needed. Excellent clean up of job site, completely explained work done and left instructions for care of resoded lawn and care and maintainence of sump and drain system... Highly recommend this firm for quality of work, and the couresty and work ethic of their crew.

Hired to repair basement cracks. Found an additional leaking crack and called before performing additional work. Very responsive and professional. Pleased with work and very pleased with customer service: from estimate to follow-up billing. This company seems to actually care about their customers, which doesn't happen much anymore.

They did a nice job. It appears to be okay. We'll find out as time goes on. They did the job in the time they indicated they would use. I used them once before and I was satisfied with them and they're highly recommended on Angie's list. I thought they were a little pricy. They had to reschedule twice because their serviceman was sick and they didn't have anybody else.

Excellent. They had a big work crew that came for the full week. The foreman was professional and each day they cleaned up as much as they could. We had a lot of work done and they were efficient and knowledgeable. We absolutely recommend them.
