Frank's Basement Systems

I have been a customer of Mr. Plumber for the past 7 years. They are my "go to" plumber. The plumbers they send out are courteous and professional. They do great work. Mr. Plumber responds to my emergency calls in a timely fashion. If I need them, they are there!

Have used for previous 2 snow seasons. Reasonable. Came him- self when laborer didn't work out.

I called them for an estimate to fix damage to my brick front on home. Estimator was late for appointment. He also wasn't sure if they could do job. Promised an estimate after speaking to others. No estimate. I called a week later and left a message for him. When he called back he stated it would be $1100.00 and a full day job. I later called another contractor who offered to do the job for $250.00 labor + cost of mortar.

Not all plumbing companies do fiber optic work like that, they even invited me to come watch them and look at the camera. They sort of explained to me the pipe lay out under my house and going out to the main. They have about 100 different employees and 30 plumbers. The particular gentleman that came out was quite talented both in terms of explaining things and his technical expertise. They even spent an additional hour working on it past the quoted bid on their own time just so they could be satisfied that they did the job right. In the past I've had work by them, but when I used other companies it wasn't a typical experience to have plumbers do that. Even though they are relatively more expensive in terms of the initial quote for the job, given the amount of time they spent and the quality of work they did I couldn't imagine having got the same work for a cheaper price.

The job went well. They came back in the spring, and reseeded my lawn. I have used Frank's before. They installed drain tile in my backyard, and I will continue to use them for any drainage problems.

Mr. Plumber had to come back a second time. Our toilet needed fixing and they replaced several things with the toilet but the issue was still there. So, they ended up coming back a little later and re caulked the toilet and the problem was fixed.

It turned out excellent. We chose them because of the salesman, the cost and the plan they had for our backyard. We liked it better than a competitor's plan. Their work was done very neatly and very professionally. They were quick and they left the backyard spotless. I would absolutely use them in the future.

Overall, the job was done very well and professionally. We have ice in our new ice maker and no leak in our faucet! The plumber, Jeff, was thorough and careful with his work. He might have taken a little longer than another plumber would have, but he made sure he did a good job. Even though I find Frank's to be a little more expensive than other companies, Frank's customer service, and good work is worth the extra money.

It was a very satisfactory job. I paid $800 on the job. The price was very reasonable. The job was scheduled with a minimum of fuss. The workers showed up and did the job without any problems. I would recommend them and I will use them again in the future.

The guys showed up on day 1 to start digging, but did not start because they were unsure if the entire yard had enough elevation change for the water to gravity feed from the back of the yard to the street. After surveying the yard with a laser to determine the pitch of the yard, we decided to install a lift station to help drain the yard. When I came home from work I was surprised to see a completed job. Frank's did a great job of cutting the sod, installing the pipe, and repacking the soil and laying the sod back down. After a few weeks the sod is looking great still and you can hardly tell they were here.

This service was performed for my 70 year old mother (with me present over the phone) on her 70th birthday! No one wants a giant mess in their stationary tub from a blocked drain on their birthday! The servicemen treated mom like a queen, did the job well and quickly, and did not try to overcharge her or perform unneeded services. They were also punctual and came the same day, when we had called other companies who couldn't come or who couldn't perform the service. Being able to trust them in that way rates Mr Plumber very highly in my book.

It is not a work that they typically do, and so we did not go with them. We needed a specialist. They were very responsive and called us back right away. They were really great to discuss things and work with too. We would use them if we have any drainage work in the future.

We spent about $650. The crack had been repaired before. They cleaned out the crack and then they sewed it off somehow and injected it with a substance, starting from a very low location and working their way up. Eventually the space they created and sewed off was completely filled. It is a standard technique that they use. They were recommended to us by people that we knew. I had never seen this technique being used before. I was not really convinced that this technique would hold out for a very long period of time. I am still not convinced. However, they have given us a guarantee for about 15 years or longer than that. We will have to wait and see how it holds up. There is a wait period on this type of work. We have had this repair before. Sometimes whether or not the repairs will hold up does not show until 3 to 5 years. We don?t have any immediate use for them. We will put him on wait and see.

I got the estimate at the end of August, 2009 and because I got a new job and had some other things come up I unable to schedule the work till February, they still honored the original estimate. The workers were punctual, knowledgeable and communicative. The project manager stopped in a few times over the 2 days of the project to check on how things were going and to answer my questions. They suggested additional work, but it seemed to be because I really needed the additional drainage, there was no hard sell to get me to do the additional work. They were willing to re-use my existing sump pump to help me save money on the project. It was a very muddy job and they did the best they could to keep my carpet, front porch, and lawn clean. After they finished they explained everything very well. It wasn't perfect, but no one could have done better. I was very pleased with the whole project.

When they hit a snag with the water pipe, they went above and beyond to bring in a plumber to install/reroute new pipes. The construction crew (normally 5-6 people) were always so very professional, friendly, and soft spoken. They were like buddies by week's end. In terms of management, I couldn't have asked for more from Mike and Frank. Their price was lower than all competitors (we asked three other companies), and they did more than we asked, AND they offered the best solution. Best of all, they communicated frequently, and were completely honest in responding to all questions. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

They did a good job. They did what they said they were gonna do. It turned out really nice. We were very pleased. They crew worked very hard. I was impressed. There was not a slacker in the bunch.

In terms of the plumbing, they came out and fixed the problems and the quality of the work was excellent! The tile work was good, but they didn't really communicate quite as much as I would like. When I saw a problem I called them and they sent someone out immediately. When the project was done the owner called me to get some feedback for himself. Whatever problems there are they could fix it.

I called Frank's to get an estimate for some landscaping work in my front yard. They had done waterproofing work in my basement the summer before and I was happy with their work. I have a very small front yard in the city. The gentleman from Frank's, I can't remember his name, arrived on time and was very knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and was very patient with me. THE PROBLEM IS that I never received an estimate and I have not heard from him since he came on May 16, almost a month ago. After two weeks of not hearing anything I called Frank's and asked about the estimate, the woman on the phone said that she would give him the message -- I still have yet to hear from them. I don't know, but maybe the job was too small for a big company like Frank's Landscaping and Drainage.

We were very pleased with their work and it was just in time as we had a lot of rain & snow last fall after the work was completed. We no longer have a problem with water shooting through our walls when it rains. As a matter of fact the sump hole is now dry. The very best part was the fact that Frank's left the yard as they found it. We didn't have to purchase additional soil to level out the trenches dug, or plant grass seed. Our friends and neighbors were astounded that we had all that digging done and you couldn't really tell once they left.

I had used Frank's Landscaping last summer (2006) for some work and was very disappointed in the results; the work was not finished and it was very difficult to get anyone to remedy the situation. The work was never completed. I noticed several other people had trouble with the landscaping as well last summer. However, this summer, one year later, I received a phone call from Frank. Someone told him his rating on Angie's List was low and he contacted me to see if he could make things right. He said he was unaware of the problems I had and asked if I had asked to speak to him last year (I did not). In short, he replaced three damaged shrubs at no cost to me. It took a year but he did remedy the situation. I suggest that anyone having trouble with Frank's Landscaping should ask to speak directly to the owner-he does seem to take customer service very seriously.

I have used Frank's before and have always thought the company reputable. The owner of the company actually lives in this area and has done work around here. The work went well, and they replaced the sod, reseeded the lawn where necessary. The additional drain tile has helped tremendously with my "wet" lawn problem.

Due to his uncertainty and higher price, I opted to not choose him for the job. I received the estimate immediately as he did it on location. When I requested revisions to be made, he was reluctant to do so. The company offers landscaping services as well and I have them scheduled to do some landscaping in my front and back yards. I am very pleased with their landscaping business, but would not choose their drainage services.

In the beginning Franks Landscaping was great. They were on time, did good work, and stuck to the price they estimated. But after that they would not come back for follow up work, would not help with questions, and were not very helpful in general.

I found Franks Landscape & Drainage to be very helpful, prompt and professional. They did a great job of fixing the lawn when it was done.
