They made an appt at my connivence and were prompt in arriving. The plumber assesses the problem, gave us a fair estimate and included the sr discount .. He had to go to buy necessary parts . When he returned he worked steadily until the repair was completed.. a coupe of hours.
Description of Work: No hot water in the showers.. plumber believed it was due to too much water pressure damaging the fixture.. He put in a pressure reducer and rebuilt the fixture ..hot water restored

I asked him to do something different on the patio work and he had no problem doing it in stone work. As for responsiveness we had to call them a couple of times. We will use them in the future.

We ultimately didn't use them because we had a comparable estimate (cost-wise) from a company with which we had previous positive experiences. But we would definitely consider them for future estimates and work.

+ -1 moreI received a call from the company owner asking for information regarding my previous experience, and asking for another chance to revaluate his company. I requested a sewer inspection. The technician sent was prompt, courteous, and professional. He did a thorough plumbing inspection, but was unable to do the sewer inspection when we couldn't locate the outside vent . They gave me a free service contract for a year and stated if I should have a clogged drain to call and they would snake it from where ever the problem was. Thank you Mr. Frank for a years less worry. Few company owners care enough to go the extra mile to satisfy a client that didn't even use them.
Description of Work: The technician went over the complete plumbing inspection with me, showing me where potential problems were, and gave me a free contract for a years inspection service.

+ -1 moreAt approx 10:00 AM Thanksgiving morning I placed a panic call to Mr. Plumber because we had managed to completely jam our garbage disposal system with potato peelings generated in dinner prep. Our kitchen sink was useless, I had made several attempts to solve the problem, and really was only effective it isolating the problem. Imagine my surprise when Frank himself answered the phone! Within 20 minutes we had a very competent plumbing specialist at our home working to clear the clog! This was a major almost rock solid drain clog too I might add. He snaked the drain, cleared the lines and reassembled our under sink plumbing and we were good to go. I do not know or pretend to know how others feel about emergency plumbing calls. . .from dire panic, to total frustration, and the realization that nothing good is about to happen. None of this happened Thanksgiving morning, giving us just one more Blessing to be thankful for Thanksgiving Morning. Ladies and Gentlemen, if you find yourself in the middle of a desperate home maintenance situation please call 716-873-7473 with confidence. This is the very best recommendation I can possibly give for the service I have come to expect and rely on!

+ 3 moreAll of the work contracted for was completed and I am extremely happy with the quality of the work done and the professionalism of those doing the work. Our property is now a showplace. Our home of 18 years is now they way we always wanted it but never got around to doing. I would not hesitate in recommending Frank's Landscaping to anyone in need of the services we required. If there was to be bit of advice I would pass along, it would be to let Frank choose his own sub-contractors, and keep an open line of communication with all parties involved. I kind of insisted Frank use a particular sub contractor for part of the extensive project. It could have been a much more seamless production if all of the parties involved were similarly motivated. Putting these two parties together was solely on me, and were it to be done again I believe I would reconsider my insistence. Cudos to Frank Dimaria and his extremely hard working crew. Today everything is done to my satisfaction and we are still friends, and in fact I have continued our professional relationship with a maintenance contract as our plumber to maintain our home and furnace and AC.
Description of Work: I had a complete external property makeover done. 1. For years our back yard had very serious drainage issues. 2. Our garage was in sad state of repair. 3. Concrete driveway was was cracked and grass was growing through it. 4. Front yard was not level and had become over run with weeds. 5. Front of the house landscaping was overgrown and ever-green shrubs had taken over the front of the house. Contract with Frank was to remove the existing garage and build a new and larger unit behind the house, replace the 8 foot wide driveway with a 10 foot wide concrete driveway leading to a slab for the new 24 x 30 foot garage. Excavate and run drainage tiles throughout remaining back yard and all the way to the front of the property ending at the curb. Tie in all of the down spouts from the gutter system of the house, new garage and the sump pump to the drainage system, He was to level the property and re-sod front and back lawn. In the 5 foot area beside and behind the new garage he installed landscaping cloth as a weed barrier and completely covered this area with stone, also received same treatment beside the deck and property line beside house. Once the man work was done Frank was going to landscape the area in front of the house with assorted greenery. mulch, and a barrier to keep the lawn in the lawn.

+ 0 moreThe basement is DEFINITELY DRY but I thought the fancier walls would be a little more durable than they are--you have to be careful because you can stab stuff through them. The basement, however, does seem a bit more warm than before--even though we did have insulation before. The guys who did the work were very careful not to get anything else dirty and they cleaned up well. The only thing I would have to say about the guys is that there was some kind of tiff between two of them, and it sounded like the one was going to walk off the job. I am very conflict-averse, so just the fact that something like that was going on made me a little nervous. The job foreman seemed cranky. The salesman, Frank Nati, was very professional, knew his stuff, and even came back to look at the concrete to be sure it was drying. Lately, we have had a LOT of rain, and I can say that our basement is EXTREMELY DRY! I'm very happy with the final outcome. (And the fact that we have a legal, written guarantee for 35 years gives me that extra piece of mind that I need!)
Description of Work: Frank's fixed many cracks in my basement walls, dug a trench for the water to drain, and put up walls. We spent extra in part of the basement for the fancier walls that are insulated and have a vapor barrier.

+ -1 moreOn the start date, I was greeted by Charles and Chris. They were friendly and professional. Their crew put in supports under the living space flooring. They then dug down to the bottom of the foundation. The bad section of concrete blocks were then removed. A new footer was poured to support about a 15' length of new concrete block. The new concrete blocks were installed and pointed. A couple of days later, the dug out trench was re-filled with dirt. The total job took about 5 days and looks great. All of the workers were always pleasant and professional, and did a great job in cleaning up the area each day.
Description of Work: Removal of some foundation concrete block. Put in a new footer and installed new concrete block.

+ 0 more24 Aug they were a no show. Called the office. Mike the project manager said it did not get on the production board. He called back and said both inside and outside would be done Friday, 26 Aug. Office called back about permits and surge tank. Yes, we (owner) were going to have this done, but the plumber we had used was not licensed in North Tonawanda. We told Frank Nati, the salesperson this. He apparently never told the office. They arrived on Fri, 26 Aug and did the work. Very professional throughout. We've had them back since to put water siphon on the sump. They were Johnny-on-the-spot to repair a leak in the sump exhaust.
Description of Work: Franks's was contracted to install drain pipe from the basement to the street and to finish waterproofing the basement. We signed the contract. Work was scheduled for 24 Aug (outside) and 29-30 Aug (inside).

+ 0 moreTrimmed all shrubs around my home and put down mulch. UPDATE: 10/27/11 **Since I last reported on Frank's Landscaping, I received a phone call from Frank DiMaria, the owner of the company. He was quite disturbed by my report. Frank offered to do whatever needed to be done in order to rectify any situation and to make my husband and I happy. He asked why I didn't contact him to begin with. I honestly didn't have a reason other than I just figured the company was so big that my business didn't matter............obviously I was wrong. I've never gotten such a sincere phone call from the owner of a company before that was so willing to "make things right". We haven't had the opportunity to talk about what can be done, but just the fact that Frank called me and was so willing makes all the difference in the world as to whether or not I would hire them again and I definitely would!!!!! Companies that care so much are a dying breed!!! Thanks Frank for showing me that some companies do still take pride in their work :)
Description of Work: Frank's trimmed all of the shrubs around my house and put down mulch. They did not pick up their clippings and put the mulch right on top of the clippings. Because no weeks were pulled, all the weeds came up through the mulch.

+ 0 moreThe salesman was a true salesman, everything is doable, we are the best, etc. Had someone check the job, but of course they can do it. Drain was installed too shallow and was glued in place. When called they came out, did not talk to me and left. The concrete installer had to cut the drain and improvise a solution. The drain was incorrect for this installation. A foreman from Frank's came out and told me point blank that the drain installed was incorrect and that I needed a clean-out and they would be in touch. They were not in touch. I called and they sent another foreman out. Same story. Same result. I called the owner. He was only available business hours to come out and look and would not trust his foreman's assessment. After repeated attempts and cancellations I gave up on them. I modified the drain myself to work because they were refusing. Other issues in my life did not permit me the time it would take to fight them or process suit. They care about $$$ only, not their customers or their quality.
Description of Work: Franks was contracted to trench and install exterior drains and tie into the drain tiles in the street. This was part of a new driveway install that needed a drain.

Description of Work: The owner himself responded immediately to my phone call, and came to appraise the problem the next day. His crew arrived promptly and did a great job of fixing a recurring problem. He used up-to-date equipment to evaluate the sewer problem (camera), and ended up replacing the sewer line from the house all the way to the street. His crew also cleaned up the inside results of a backed up sewer! We will be using them again to fix a sump pump problem.

+ 0 moreThe crew was late arriving. They explained that they needed to finish the previous job and clean-up the job site. We explained what was happening and what was to be accomplished. The crew, under the direction of a very able foreman, went to work immediately preparing the work site. As quitting time approached, they cleaned the area. The crew arrived on time the next morning, went to work immediately. The foreman kept everyone on task. He had them taking breaks in a staggered method so there was no stoppage in the work. It was a large job but they finished, cleaned up, and departed just after lunch.
Description of Work: Frank’s waterproofing division dug down next to a ditch-pour foundation approximately 6 inches below the top of the foundation. They covered the pressure-treated wood above the foundation and the foundation to the bottom of the opening with Geocell. They covered the Geocell with a special material that was sticky on one side. Then they covered the area with a knobby rubber type material to seal the area. When that was competed, the area was backfilled, cleaned, and the area was completely rejuvenated. After they were finished and left, it looked as if they had never been there. The work was exactly as written on the contract. It did the job and we were completely satisfied.

+ 0 moreWe were happy with the work they did. The technician showed up on time and cleaned up after himself at the end of the day. When we called the office with questions they were either answered right away or someone called us back within a reasonable time. The only problem we did experience was when the first tech showed up he hadn't been told by the salesman that he would be repairing a crack that had already been sealed about 20 years ago. He did not bring the correct material with him for the job and we had to wait an addtitional day for them to come back.
