The representative doing the installation (Stephen) was excellent. For the estimate, he completely explained what would be done and why. This had him all set to move on the installation when he showed up to do the work. He was on time, polite, and respectful of the property. He also secured the outflow pipes (the previous installation left them quite loose). Overall, a job well done. The cost was pretty much in line with other estimates, but the personal touch and professionalism of this company won out.
Description of Work: Installed a water backup basepump. This included moving the old pump to accommodate the new one and installing a copper pipe. It utilized the existing outflow pipe for my previous backup. Went with the HB1000 basepump, which is a bit higher end than the introductory one. They would have gone with a cheaper pump if I wanted, which would have saved about $200.

I called them on June 25th to make an appointment. Initial appointment was for July 16th. I asked them to email reminder to me close to this date. However, when the time came I had another important meeting so I could not keep the July 16th date due to being out of town. I informed them immediately by responding to their email sent on July 14th that I would need to re-scheduling for either July 18th or July 31. i also sent details of work needed. I did not hear from them. I called their office on July 16th as soon as they opened. I was told that we could reschedule for July 31st. However on July 17th they called to say they are booked for the whole season and will not be performing any work on my home! I chose the company due to their good review as well as because I needed some one to fix concrete issues. I may chose them again however I am disappointed that they cancelled out. Unfortunately, it's sad that they backed out saying t hey are booked for the whole season especially since they had an appointment with me from June 25th. If you know you are setting a time with some one to give estimate then how could you not have time to do the actual work later?

Things started well. I called in the morning and was told someone would be out to my house that day between 2 and 4pm that same day. I asked if I could get a call when they were on there way from there previous job (since I work 10 minutes away from home, this would allow me to be there when they got there). I was assured that this would be no problem "since they always call when the are on there way". At that point things started to go downhill. The plumber didn't call ahead and went straight to the house where he asked my wife what was wrong. Seems he said "I don't read the call sheets because they always put something wrong on them". My wife did call me allowing me to head home and directed the plumber to the hot water heater. By the time I got home, he had looked at the hot water heater and was able to tell me that the hot water heater wasn't working (duh) and that I would need to replace the flammable vapor sensor and ignitor assemble. I asked him how he diagnosed that since when I read the manual the trouble shooting steps didn't seem to point in that direction. At this point he asked to see the manual looked at the page I was looking at and convinced himself that he was right. He told me that he would call around for parts and get back to me to fix it that same day and that the typical cost for this is around $180. (Sounded a little high to me but I need hot water so was resigned to it). 4 hours later he called and told me that I need to call the manufacturer for parts myself and that they would overnight them to me at which point I can call him back and have him come in to install. Oh and there was good news, I only need the FV sensor and the cost went down to $90. This kind annoyed me. I'm paying money to do this and I have to send my time getting the part? Anyway, I called the manufacturer (Rheem/Ruud) and explained what was going on. Before they will send the part, I need to do a couple diagnostic tests which took about an hour (turn off and on then could flashes as the burner trys and ignites...) Seemed simple so I do it. When I tell them what I see they tell me that that is not the symptom of a faulty FV sensor but rather an igniter assembly. They tell me that there are directions that say how to install it and that I can do it my self. the part came two days later and I was able to install it myself and the hot water heater is working now. As part of the installation, I had to unplug the FV sensor and discovered that the labor to replace would probably take a minute. In short, the Mr. Plumber service tech did not now how to read a call sheet (and follow the instructions on the call sheet), diagnose the hot water heater problem, find parts to repair the problem or charger a reasonable amount for a repair ($100 for 2 minutes of work?). I will not being calling Mr. Plumber again. Still searching for a plumber in the area to trust.

I ended up going with them because they had done work for me last year. They are excellent and they do a really good job. The owner came to the house and helped the people related to the business. It is a very good company. They are really good so I would recommend them highly. The owner is excellent. He is a hands-on person. He talked to me about the cost and he explained everything. His men are professional. They have been explained on what they have to get done. They are with their electrician today. They all really do a good job. I have been very impressed with them. They know what they are doing. They are a licensed contractor. When I speak to them on the phone they get back to me quickly when I have a question. They don’t call me at work but they call me at home. Out of 10 they are 11. They are really the best company I have worked with, for having serious problems with the house whether it is plumbing or water in my basement or crawlspace or electrical problems. I think their price is fair.
Description of Work: I am using Frank's Basement Systems to get some work done in my house because the crawlspace is flooded. They are doing some other work on the side. I have problems with the plumbing. Then they are also fixing my crawlspace. There is water in my crawlspace and they are cleaning up. They are putting a foundation that has got an encapsulator. Then they are going to put a sump pump in there so if there is any more water that goes in there, it will be taken out. They are taking out some mold because there was some mold on the insulation. They are just basically cleaning it up. I have used them before. Last year they fixed my roof. I had some wood ants or termites and they fixed that. They put insulation in my house.

Frank Nati arrived on time. I was impressed by his level of knowledge and professionalism. He assessed the property from top to bottom, walking myself and my father-in-law through every step of the way. He did not sugar coat anything or over exaggerate anything. We were thoroughly impressed and would definitely hire and recommend Franks Basement Systems just based on this experience. We did not end up purchasing the property so I am unable to review any of the work that would have been performed. It is experts like Frank Nati that make the company #1 in the business.

The service person was at the house in the time frame given. I was looking for an estimate call but he started right in working - no estimate. Friendly worker, knew his work and where to get the parts needed presumably at a good price/value (local LOWE's). Everything was cleaned up at end of job - 1 hour.

It was a difficult job because there were multiple blockages in multiple locations that allowed free flow to certain utilities but not to others. Many different techniques were used to help keep the cost down and Steve was very thorough with his explanations on what he was charging for and why. I appreciated him being straight forward and honest.

What a great experience. I could not have asked for better service. The other contractors I interviewed were very interested in selling me only the "top of the line" most expensive, biggest systems possible. Mike from Frank's took the time to listen to what i needed, asked about my budget and then suggested several options that were much more in line with what I could afford and certainly more in line with what my needs were. The installation crew arrived on time, worked professionally, kept me informed of anything that came up, took care of everything (including replacing a blownfuse in my furnace that they happenned to notice while relighting the pilot) and left the basement perfectly clean. I felt that they really valued my business and treated me with respect, not just as a one time customer. I will be using them again this summer. And I will definately be recommending them to anyone I know who needs plumbing work.

Overall we are happy with Frank's. We had an unexpected water in our basement that came in through a separation in the floor. The underlying problem was a clogged drain tile. We had a few evaluations and estimates. We like Frank's the best. The sales rep Mike C. was great. He was very nice, explained the problem well, offered us some solutions and products. He was not pushy and did not put the hard sell on like another company we had come in. The price was fair. $3200. They installed 3 drain cleanouts in the corners of my basement and reclosed the floor with a nice mortar job in each area. They were neat. They then came in with a plumber who jet cleaned all the drain tiles of mud and debris to satisfaction. A basement dehumidifier was installed and works very well and we are very pleased we went ahead with this aspect of the project too. It's working like a top with the spring thaw and rain. Basement feels good. We did have an issue with their scheduling which is why I can't give them perfect marks. They said they would be out in 3-4 weeks, but we didn't hear from them. We called and it sounded as if they accidentally didn't get us on the scheduled. They came the following week. The job was completed, but with each segment of the job, a different employee came out and each one did not know what parts of the project were supposed to be completed. It required multiple phone calls. Apparently one of the schedulers was out with the flu so that was the reason for the confusion and scheduling snafus. The problem was ultimately handled by a lady in the office who coordinated everything and did a very thorough job in making sure everything was completed and satisfactory. The company was very responsive and provided excellent customer service in this regard. The employees were professional, neat, and quiet while working. We would recommend Frank's for their services and we would use them again.

The serviceman was supposed to be at our home between 3:00 and 5:00 pm. We received a phone call at 5:05 pm indicating that he had an emergency and would not be coming. They wanted for me to call the office on Monday or Tuesday and schedule another appointment. This was disappointing since I left work early to be home in time for the appointment. 1/15/13 Frank called me today and personally apologized. He asked if there is anything that he could do to help us out. He repeatedly said that service is a top priority and provided his cell number in case we need anything. I would use this company in the future since he handled this situation so well.

Crew was very professional in their work, however the original sump pump liner used was not what i was expecting and when i told the lead plumber on the site about it, he basically said that this is what i had ordered. While not terribly disappointing, it bothered me. The sales guy followed up with me on the job and asked how it all went, when i told him about the mix up and my disappointment he immediately apologized, scheduled a new crew to come in and completely tore out what they did and redid to exactly what I had expected. You don't find companies that will go this far for you that often to fix mistakes in their work. I would highly recommend Frank's Basements and their family of companies for any plumbing, basement repair work you may have.

They did the work but installed the vent right next to the walkway to my front door and left before I even knew the work was done. We noticed odors coming from it and called them. They at first said that was the way the town required it to be installed and then, after I called the town to confirm the rules for placement of the vent, agreed to redo the job. When they did, they found the old line connection to the main sewer was still blocked by tree roots and had not been cleared when first done. They fixed it & moved the vent pipes back to where they were originally placed previous to their work. I would have preferred not to have the extra mess and damage to my concrete work and lawn but was very pleased they stood by their work and fixed it without hassle.

The woman in the office making the appointments, had to be the nicest most friendly person I have ever had to deal with. I had an appointment to complete the work in my basement over a two day period. They called and changed that date to the following week. I was assured of the two day commintment, as I had an important doctor visit the day after. When the contractor showed up alone the first thing he did was to explain what he was going to do. Telling me that it was a full 3 day job. I insisted I was told two days max with a crew on site. the contractor insisted on 3 days, causing me to find someone to come in and house sit while I was out. There was never a crew, just one lone worker. He did a very good job, and my basement was clean. Outside of the inconvience to me over the length of time to completion, I am pleased with the job. This was a costly job, and it could have been completed in a day and a half if there was a full crew doing the work. This is the only reason for not giving an A. But i would recommend them to others.

My experience with Frank's Mr. Plumber was an excellent one. I scheduled an estimate about three weeks prior to the work being done at my home(we were on vacation so they couldn't come back right away). They told me what the problem was, how much it would cost to fix, and how they were going to fix it. They did exactly what they said they would in a very professional and time efficient way. They wore coverings on their shoes in my home, they were polite and they explained each step as they went along. I would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Two gentlemen came to my home (after giving me an estimate) to fix a leak and replace the drain in an upper level shower in my home. They had to cut a hole in my kitchen ceiling and then they proceeded to remove the leaking drain and replace it with a new one . When they were finished with this, they spent some time testing their work to ensure that they had done everything correctly.
