Overall Bad job, costly, emotionally upsetting Unfortunately, he gets his next customer by showing the prior job when all is looking perfect. We screwed our friends this way and feel terrible. Our architect also got swindled.
Description of Work: Greg. Proprietor for Tri-State construction started off very nice, convincing, lower estimate, lots of reassurances. During the job he started off very respectful as well, responsive, yes to all our concerns and additional reassurances. I will reserve my true feelings of anger for how we feel taken advantage of and give you the straight facts about the work that was done. Our master bathroom with steam shower unit, and high end tile - never drained properly and became moldy within weeks of the work being done. Many excuses by Greg all blaming the quality of the tile, and things he would fix, not taking responsibility for the most obvious problem which was a poorly pitched floor and bad tile job. A year of this went on.. with much frustration and worsening issues. After multiple professional tile layer- evaluations, tile companies coming in to evaluate and home insurance investigators we had to demo more than half the shower. What we found: the whole subfloor soaked/saturated, pan liner incorrectly layed, thinner than standard wall board/cement board used, incorrect spacing of studs, incorrect fitting of piping/plumbing and actually dangerous drainage of back flow from steam unit. Needless to say the whole thing was poorly done, and cost us much trouble, money, and we now don't have matching tile to complete the job. This was a 20K mistake to start. Radiant heat not layed correctly either, inadequately covering the whole floor. The rest of the work done included an addition- kitchen. Sparing the details of each problem here is just a list of problems: Gutters not appropriate- not draining Kitchen floor not even with old house addition Island prep sink not draining properly Pipes from outside in to house not sealed...... we have a mouse problem now Deck bowed Outside drainage a problem Quality of materials and finishing touches simply poor... cheap home depot stuff used as many have pointed out. Not the higher quality contractor level of materials.
