Description of Work: Installed a new oil tank in the basement. Removed the old underground tank. Handled the permit and scheduling the inspector. Filled in the hole and leveled the ground. It went well despite the drizzly weather.

Description of Work: Barrier Tank Services replaced our tank, cutting out and removing the old one and replacing with a new tank. Due to the weather (work was done in the middle of the coldest week in January) they made sure we were never cold. Great service.

Description of Work: Barrier contracting replaced a 275 gallon oil tank and oil lines in my basement. Both Wayne and Wayne Jr. were a pleasure to deal with. They were professional. Their crew was punctual, polite and careful while working on my property. While there was in fact slight a miscommunication with my local building department regarding the inspection of the completed work, both Wayne and Wayne Jr. saw things through to the very end of the job to insure everything was correct and complete. While I do understand that everyone's situation is different as far as price is concerned Barrier's quote came in approximately $600.00 cheaper (including all the required permits)than their closest competitor. In this day and age of automated help lines and terrible customer service Barrier came through and delivered exactly what they promised. I would HIGHLY recommend their services.

Description of Work: Barrier removed an underground 550-gallon oil tank and replaced it with an outside above-ground tank in three days. No mess, no fuss. | |I found Barrier on Angie's list, and after Wayne Jeffers Jr. came by in late April and spent about 45 minutes answering my questions and explaining stuff (he has that rare gift of not making simple things complicated, or complicated things simple). He then sent me an itemized bid. Wayne replies to email quickly and is super-responsive and responsible. He told me the name of the tank he would put in, and recommended that I look it up online, which I did. He said it was unlikely my old tank was leaking (which I feared because it adds time and cost) because older tanks like mine (from the fifties and sixties) were built better. That turned out to be correct. Everything was straightforward and clearly spelled out. | |He said he could do the job in early May, which he did. He came around with the village inspector on May 1 or so, got the permits, and on the following Tuesday his guys dug up and removed the old tank and poured a concrete block for the new one to sit on. And somehow managed not to run over some small plants I figured were doomed. They brought the new tank the next day, painted it, and installed it the day after that. | |It couldn't have gone any smoother, and the price was great. | | | | |

 + -1 moreBarrier Contracting LLC was much lower than what the oil company charged but the quality of the tank was nothing compared to the old on. He was working fine, on time, and nice to work with. He got back to you right away. He didn't do the work himself, he sub contracts. He gave the estimate but had the crew do the work.

 + -1 moreWayne and his crew from Barrier provided quick, professional and expert service. I had been worried about my 550 gallon underground oli-tank for the past year. It was 18 years old and I knew it had to be removed. Wayne came over to the house, checked everything out, gave me a terrific estimate and told me the project would take just 2 days. The new oil tank was installed in one day. Wayne then had his crew transfer all of my usable oil from the old tank into the new one. The next day the crew hand dug the underground monster out of 3 feet of dirt. Thoroughly checking for leaks or contamination, they had my building inspector come over, give his approval and they then perfectly filled the hole and made the landscaping better then before. I also had Wayne and his crew remove/replace a railroad tie stairway behind my house which they completed in their own professional manner. Believe me, I know how anxious you become when you have this ticking time-bomb of over 500 gallons of underground oil on your property. Wayne's professionalism and his willingness to walk me through the project was spot on!! I so highly recommend Barrier for any type of excavation work, especially oil tank removal and replacement, that I simply can't recommend Barrier any higher! They are the BEST of the BEST!!!!!!!!!

 + -1 moreThey (4 men) arrived on time and hand dug out the tank locations to find the tanks. In one case, we did not know where the tanks were buried so they followed some vent pipes and ended up finding not one, but two tanks buried side by side. The tanks were about 15 feet from where the vent pipes were showing, so it took more digging and a larger hole than they expected. No leakage of any kind was found. Unfortunately the tanks were under an asphalt parking pad which could not be restored, so they buried some stumps and then filled in with good soil and pachysandra. Next they installed the new 330-gallon tank in the basement, got it inspected and hooked it up. Oil from the tank in the ground was transferred to the new tank. They filled the new tank and left about 150 gallons in barrels outside for use later. They then removed the tank from the ground. No leakage was found. In all cases they were courteous and professional and went beyond my expectations.
Description of Work: 1) Removed buried fuel oil tanks and restored surface to near original condition. Got all permits and inspections as required. 2)Installed a new 330-gallon fuel oil tank in the basement. Again got permit and inspection as required. 3)To get fill dirt for oil tank holes, dug up an area in the woods on the property, then backfilled the hole with old tree stumps. This removed some unsightly tree stumps from view.
