They are not good to deal with. The service is not up to par and have a lot of dead spots.

I switched from Time-Warner cable to Verizon only because they had a good deal. I like the fact that our computer is a lot faster. What I dislike, and they never explained it to me, is that I have to dial my area code before I dial any phone numbers that are local. I also don't like the fact that all the channels we got with basic cable, all the channels I like to watch, I don't get any of them. I have to pay extra. I never asked, and I didn't think to ask. I would recommend them, the TV comes in good, but I would make them aware of the phone with the area code and to have them check to see if they get their favorite channels.
Description of Work: Verizon provides a two year contract for landline phone, cell phone, TV and internet. We got a digital box in my room and my son's.

I pay approximately $165 for all three services and they are usually pretty good. I had a major problem with them recently and they finally got the issue resolved. They got somebody to follow up on it; and because I had been practically without my phone and my computer as it was connected to my phone line, they said that they would give me a credit for all that time. It turned out that it was only a $5 credit and that’s not even what I paid on a daily basis. So I was a little disturbed about that. The initial issue was I was hearing other phone conversations when I was on the phone. One in particular was a doctor’s office and I could hear them answer the phone with the doctor’s name and then I could hear what the patients were saying. So I called Verizon on a Friday to inform them of this and they said they would send somebody on a Monday. I didn’t use the phone over the weekend because I didn’t want to hear the phone conversations and it was hard to talk over other people’s conversations too. When they came on Monday, they really messed it up and it ended up that they switched wires around. When I used my cellphone to call my home phone number; it rang into somebody else’s house a couple of blocks away from me. I talked to the guy and when I used his phone number it rang into my house. So we knew the wires were switched. I called Verizon on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to tell them about this. On Wednesday, they asked me if I wanted a text message when this was resolved, and I said yes. I gave them my cellphone number and I kept getting these text messages saying my problem was resolved. But as soon as I called my home phone from my cell phone to see if it was resolved; it kept going to the other guy, so we knew it wasn’t resolved. It wasn’t until Thursday that they finally got it fixed. I didn’t have the use of the phone because every time somebody called me it would ring into his house; and even though his was a home phone it was his business phone, so I kept getting all his calls. We kept calling them back; and on Wednesday I got about eight text messages telling me that the problem was resolved. I kept calling them back saying it wasn’t resolved; and they said they would put in another order. Finally, Thursday morning the guy came and he came to my door after he fixed it. He said it wasn’t just two wires when he tested it and my line was ringing into the other guy’s house and his was ringing into mine. I said I knew and we told you that. He said that he put the wires where they were supposed to be and it should be fine. It has been fine ever since. But it was kind of frustrating. Then Verizon called and said somebody else would follow up on that. I talked to a lady and she said that they would reimburse me for that and then I got an e-mail that it was only $5. I pay $165 a month for my computer, cellphone and home phone, and they were telling me that $5 was going to cover for no phone and computer for almost a week. It wasn’t even worth them even giving me any kind of credit. They didn’t charge me for the repair because they only do that if it’s inside the house and what they did was outside the house. I called them on Friday to tell them I was hearing conversations of a doctor’s office. There’s legal stuff with that and they made me wait all weekend. They waited till Monday; and I think they should have done something immediately with that and that was not a good thing. They said that the technicians would come between 8 A.M. and 7 P.M.; and they did come between that time. I don’t know when they came on Monday; but they were there first thing in the morning on Thursday. They were as professional as could be and I think a lot of it was automated technical stuff that they really didn’t have any control over. I am using them and will continue to use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I use the services of Verizon and they did service on my home phone last Thursday. They provide home phone, cellphone and Internet services for me.
