We received two bids for this job; van der Hoof was the lower of the two bids. They told us they expected it to take two days, but because of on-and-off rains and the Memorial Day weekend, the entire job took just over a week. We did have a bit of an unpleasant surprise when we found parts of the old roof in our living room - it fell in when they were replacing the skylight. Otherwise, they did an excellent job of replacing the roof and cleaning up when the job was finished. I would use them again (but hope that we don't have to!).

Crew was on time, polite, professional very heat work was excellent!

They prepositioned materials and the crew arrived as scheduled. Completed the job in 2.5 days and did and excellent job of clean up. Very satisified.

All went well. Company was prompt and easy to deal with. All work was done timely and agreed upon. Recommend and will use company again for other future roofing needs.

The team showed up on time each day and provided status at end of the day. They kept me informed of additional work required and sought approval to do so. Took care to cover windows , lawn and siding to prevent damage during removal and installation. The team worked professionally throughout the day . The team cleaned up as work progressed and at the end of each day after work was completed. They hauled away all the old shingles and old plywood after each day.

They are excellent. The re-roof work they did was excellent too. They are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. When we got bids, they were not the cheapest but their quality was good. I would encourage people to use them. I would not downgrade them for their price because they are good.

In the summer of 2012 the roof over the garage began to leak. I called vander hoof. They came over and applied tar for $150.00. The work did not fix the problem. This past summer(2013), the roof began to leak from a number of different spots. I called Vander Hoof again. They looked at it several times and could not fix the problem. They recommended a new skylight for $1500.00. I paid for the work, it was performed and the roof began to leak worse. Winter arrived and snow cover halted the leaking. As soon as the snow began to thaw, the roof leaked like a sprinkler system had gone off. I called Vander Hoof again. I received a telephone call today that they cannot find the problem. Their only solution is for me to replace the garage roof for $4500. I should not have to replace a 15 year old roof. Especially when their last solution, which did not work, cost me $1500. I believe that I have been very patient with this company, yet I am now very dissatisfied.

The roof went on alright, they had to replace the plywood because the home is much older. They had to repaint my outside chimney and they missed a few spots so I had them come back out to fix it. They didn't come back out to paint the fascia, I had to do it myself. They were more expensive then other people. The roof isn't leaking so hopefully were in good shape. I think they did a nice job, the roof itself looks good. The only had a few minor things to come back out and fix.

I emailed the company expressing my concerns, with no reply.

The service went very well. I contacted Vanderhoof on Sunday evening. I received a call on Monday morning requesting ice/snow removal from my roof. They came the next day (Tuesday) at 9 AM and were very professional in their approach. They listened to my concerns. They completed the service in about an hour.

The VanDerhoof crew was cheerful and efficient, although bad weather interrupted the job and made life difficult.

We didn't use them because the work needed to be done immediately - roof was leaking.

I'm trying to remember when I have had a better job done by contractors and just can't do it. This company is simply superb. The estimator, the roof crew, the owner -- just top notch. If they said they'd be there, they were and they were absolutely on time, every time. The job was extensive and lasted quite a while, and every single day the grounds were cleaned up perfectly. My roofs are clean, tight and great looking. I was told this was the most expensive company in town -- they weren't quite, but every penny was worth it. I offer this as an enthusiastic, completely unqualified recommendation.

They discovered rotten wood under the siding, a poor roof(s) underneath, problems unforseen until the roofs were torn off off and gutters that were put on incorrectly from the last guy not doing a proper job. Many others would have never told me and just put a roof on. Not these guys. They take pride in their work and it was very evident from the start!

They were too high. The quoting process was fine.

The estimator fully knew his products, was very informative, answered all of our questions and even returned to the job site at the end of the project to be sure that we were happy with the results. The price was the most expensive estimate that we received BUT we truly feel that we received a QUALITY job. The crew was totally professional, punctual, knowledgable, neat and safety wise. We ran into rainy weather and yet they always showed up on time with good attitudes and worked as much of the day as they could. The roof was covered with water tight tarps each day when work was completed so that unshingled areas did not get wet. The job was more complicated and took slightly longer than we expected but it was an excellent job. Van derhoof even called in a representative from the skylight company to ensure that they were installed correctly and operated smoothly. Van derhoof Roofing was highly recommended by everyone we asked and we would definitely recommend them to whoever wishes for a topnotch job. EXCELLENT COMPANY TO WORK WITH!

This company was very professional and did an excellent job. I'd highly recommend them. Not only did they do an excellent job, but they also completed the job sooner than expected. I found them on www.bbb.org and couldn't be happier with them. They had all the information I needed when they came for the initial visit. Ed Wright was the person we dealt with most and I can't say enough about him. He was great! He gave great advice and answered all my questions, plus some :) If I ever need a roofer again it'll be this company I call. We also had them install new gutters for my mother-in-law and she's happy, too. That was another great job well done :)

They did an excellent job removing old and installing new roof shingles. They need to be more careful while wroking. My gutters were dented up during the job. Not happy about that.

Very well done, all issues addressed and corrected. Couldn't be more satisfied.
