I am completely satisfied. It was in a middle of a snowstorm. I could not be more pleased. My experience was excellent. They came right when I called. One of their foremen came out and showed me that there was no problem. I thought I had a water stain on one of my ceilings, but it was not water. It was completely dry. I would absolutely use them again. In fact, I have recommended them to three other people. You get what you pay for. I cannot say enough about the workmen that were here. The owner of the company, the foreman, and everyone employed by them was first class.

Despite being the largest roofing company in Syracuse who repair and replace roofs all the time on commercial and residential buildings, both a sales rep and I believe the owner tried to tell me that they "don't do complete tear-offs" when I approached them for an estimate. They came out to see the house, then told me they would call with an estimate. A week later after I never heard from them I called back and they told me my job was "too big" for them and they don't do full tear-offs. Needless to say, this is a complete lie and very unprofessional of them. For some reason, for which i do not know, they just refused to even consider the job. No concerns were made aware to me, no other reason given other than "they don't do tear-offs". I suggest you find another company who is actually interested in serving the community when they need it. I would not recommend this company.

The crew worked hard every day, cleaned up every evening before they left, and did quality, professional work. The crew was friendly and courteous to a man, even the youngest guys, and the music was never played loud enough to disturb me or the neighbors. I was home much of the time, and can honestly say that this crew worked hard and kept at it, from 7 am until 4, 5, sometimes 6 at night. They spent nine days at our house and despite the noise and the mess, which they cleaned up every day before they left, we were a little sad to see them go. Several members of the crew, including Ricky, who was a calm confident leader who made sure "the homeowners" were always happy, safe, and kept well informed of progress and challenges they encountered, had been with Van Derhoof for years, and it showed. Ricky and Andy Baron, the roving supervisor who checked in with Ricky and me regularly, knew that the right way to do things was the only way to do them, and that this was the Van Derhoof way. They were and I hope still are great representatives of the company. Right from the get go I was impressed with the professionalism of the Van Derhoof staff, from Jack Everett, who sold us the roof and laid out specifically what we were paying for, to Ricky, Andy, and the other members of the roofing crew, who obviously took pride in their work and in doing a job right. They did their best not to damage my wife's extensive gardens, and aside from a stepped-on plant here and there, tore off and put on a roof on a house in an urban setting with very tight property lines. Even though the final cost came in at about $3,500 over the initial estimate, I am glad I hired Van Derhoof for the job. The work was done right, the additional costs seemed reasonable and were well explained by Andy -- I approved them as we went along, so while I may have winced a bit when it came time to pay the bill, there were no surprises. Communication between Ricky and Andy and my wife and myself was excellent. I recommended Van Derhoof and this crew in particular to a friend and neighbor, and he and his wife have hired them to do their roof this summer. I was similarly impressed with the company's gutter crew, who took the time, along with Jack Everett, to help me decide on the best gutter solution for our house and property. Now I know why Van Derhoof has been in business for 75 years. If you need a roof and you live in the Syracuse area, I recommend you give them a call. Oh, and the only reason I gave them a B on price is because I would rather have paid less. Still, their original estimate was several thousands less than two other local roofers who submitted bids. I'm glad I chose Van Derhoof.

They came when they were scheduled. The job went along smoothly even though there was rain on two of the days. Total job took 4 or 5 days. They cleaned up everything. They protected the landscaping with plywood, etc. The roof looks great. They covered the house with tarps when needed.

I was very pleased. They were extremely professional, and I loved the way they dealt with me and my numerous questions. They were very accommodating and gave me the Angie's list discount. They did the job in only four to six hours. They covered everything up and I only found a few nails afterwards. It was a great experience, and I would recommend them to anyone. I think they are the best in the area. All of the other companies in the area use the same type of shingle, which Van Derhoof Roofing Co Inc does not use as they have had troubles with them. They also came by later to check on the work afterwards and then to collect payment after making sure I as happy with the job. When it came to the work on the inside for the skylight, they recommended someone for me who also did a wonderful job. They also recommended a great electrician.

Very professional, pleasant & prompt; fair price for work done, as all plywood had to be replaced. Excellent clean up. There's a good reason why they've been in business so long!Roof & plywood replacement on house, roof & partial plywood replacement on 2 car garage.

Everything went very well. Company arrived earlier than expected. Completed all work quickly. Left no mess and answered all my questions. Quality of work was excellent. The people were very knowledgeable and friendly. And I will hire them again.

Very well. Took awhile to get it scheduled but the work itself was performed well and i was kept informed with photos and updates as the work went along.

Very professional. The workers were neat, hardworking, and fun to have around. My questions were answered daily. I'd use them again (although I hope I don't need them again).

They just did really excellent service. Their men worked very efficiently. They got the job done in a very reasonable amount of time. The quality of the material that they used we're very impressed with. I have had some issues concerning whether that was really unrelated to the work they did, but they were very kind about coming back and helping us with that. What stood out was I think how efficient and the quality of the material. We had people in the area that have gotten roof done by folks that doesn't use that kind of material and it did really have issues with. We're very pleased. Plus, it's the second time. We had it done, we did our house for over 30 years. I think our first roof lasted quite as long as it should have, and that we just recently had it replaced. They told us, "This one would pretty much last for a lifetime". I would recommend them to others without hesitation.

A crew of three men came to our house in the afternoon on 3/9/2015, exactly when they said they would. They cleared a thick layer of ice from a section of roof over the location of the indoor water leak. They were thorough, and careful not to damage the shingles of the roof. The leak stopped almost immediately. They were real professionals. We found the billing accurate and fair. We're grateful that they came when we needed them!

The president of our HOA found someone for $73.00 per hour so I used them. I would have used Vanderhoof roofing but I called on a Wed looking for help, they called me Wed. night and said they couldn't be there until MONDAY and the charge was 183.00 I believe and I was willing to pay as the leak was bad. When our President (HOA) found someone they were much less expensive AND they came immediately. I called Vanderhoof and cancelled via a message machine.

Work started earlier than expected. Work crew were excellent, took proper measures to protect property and cleaned up everyday. Foreman explained what was being done and notified me of concerns.

They gave me an estimate and started when they said they would. Did a very professional job. Removed my old broken siding, re tyvek the house and put up the siding. Cleaned up after themselves and even fixed a couple of shingles on my roof before they left. Would not call them inexpensive but they did an excellent job and would use them in the future without hesitation.
