Lonnie the owner seemed like a nice guy easy to talk to. He told me he would take care of the insurance forms and I was to get a good deal. He knew how to play me and I fell for it. I must say that he did a good job. But the way it was done really frustrated me. He told he would start on a Monday & then two days before on a Saturday a guy is cutting down my trees. He loved to be a show off as he was swinging on the trees like he was tarzan. I guess I was suspose to be Jane and watch him. But I did not want to as it was cold and I just wondered what someone was doing in my back yard with making this big noise with his saw. I wish Lonnie would have told me he would be coming two days earlier as he did scare me and I wondered who was in my backyard. Mr. Tarzan needed something from his car and made me get it while he watched me get it. Anyway, Lonnie did not take care of the insurance forms like he said & my agent still has not got photos he needs. He BSs a lot but he did the job.

Upstate New York Tree Service was highly recommended by my parents, for doing such a terrific tree trimming job for them recently. So, no surprise that this wonderful family business for decades, did a fantastic job at doing some significant tree trimming of two very large trees for me! The owner thoroughly knowledgeable and having a background educated in all things green, explained the significance of the bit of rot on one of the trees. Also he detailed a plan to remediate & comprehensively trim down both trees, especially the compromised one to lighten the load quite a bit. Having had a major tree removed out front a while ago and knowing pricing (and add inflation) a bit for this work, his quote was reasonable and fair Especially nice, was that he could get in the work required very soon, rather than waiting weeks or more for a quote and work done, as maybe for some tree services. His very professional team arrived w/all their heavy duty equipment, tools and saws ready to take care of business. and That they did in a very organized, thoughtful and effective manor at doing some very involved and complicated tree trimming. In the very back of my yard, they successfully navigated, tied off and avoided large branches damaging my new shed, garage or nice fence! No small accomplishment! When all was effectively and efficiently done over a few days, they very thoroughly cleaned up and hauled away all tree branches and debris. After recently worrying while watching my trees sway wickedly during that big storm that generated numerous tornadoes in Central NY, I will worry no more! Plus as a major bonus: much less raking, picking up sticks/branches and plenty of new sunlight to enjoy; priceless! Appreciate very much the comprehensive, reasonably priced, and quality professional job done by Upstate New York Tree Service from the owner to the whole crew!

This guy is truly something else I pd him 3800.00$ for tree removal offy garage and to cut down any existing branches on the tree that caused the damage. See the tree in the back ground still has limbs cause I was tired of arguing with him. Then I was nice enough to let him leave his bucket truck in my driveway and see the other pic of all the OIL his truck leaked all over my driveway. Has been taking his time to come correct the issue in the meantime my cat came in with OIL all over his paws I had to take him to the vet to get it removed. DO NOT HIRE THIS PLACE! YOU WILL BE SORRY just like I am!!! Needless to say I hired another company to replace my garage. Hardly a PRO. HE INFLATES HIS PRICE WHEN INS IS INVOLVED.

This wonderful family owned company is absolutely fantastic! Immediate response, experienced, caring, a professional team of tree experts who knew what they were doing and got the job done!!! From start to finish this family and team was pleasant, flexible, hardworking and dependable, safely removing trees & to the last cleanup!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I had a large branch of a tree (12-inch diameter) fall on my house and needed to have it removed as an emergency service. I contacted Angi and Upstate NY Tree Service called my house and proposed to come to my house and remove the tree. I needed to have the tree removed before it caused any additional damage to the house. I was at work when Upstate arrived at my house to remove the tree. My wife who is 74 years old had was asked to approve the removal for $3,700. She did. Subsequent to the tree's removal our home owner's insurance adjuster reviewed pictures of the tree on the roof and determined the value to remove the tree was $1,753.84.I have photographs of the tree on my roof and a written appraisal from the insurance adjuster for the value of the work. Upstate's cost was approximately double the value of the work. I my opinion this company takes advantage of unknowing individuals in a time of need.

I hired Upstate Tree Service to trim and shape my Japanese Cherry tree which was way overgrown. Lonny was so nice and very professional. The tree was so large they had to use a bucket truck to trim it. My husband was afraid that if the truck went on the lawn it would ruin our grass. They did go on the lawn but youâ d never know it. Our tree came out beautiful and I will definitely use them again.

Strong arm tactics to get extra money after the job was half done. Leaves yard in poor condition. Did not do everything as agreed upon. Does not answer phone calls and responds to texting only after threatening. Angie came to my assistance to get Lonnie to respond to my concerns about how the job was left. Workers did come and fix my lawn that was left with big tire tracks from personal vehicles, & big divots from the falling of the trees. The area was seeded, as well. The limbs that were left in various areas and not place in side yard as in contract were moved from the lawn. I am grateful to Angie for helping me get satisfaction. BUT still would not recommend, this company. I did not read the BBB reviews before hiring but if I did I would have paid $200 more upfront, and get things done right form the start. My advice shop around more than just 3 people and don`t go with the person that tells you he will give you a deal because he has more "jobs in the area"

cut large dead ash tree in a hard to get area. very professional. went right to work. had respect for my house, fences, canoes, and animals. cleaned up beautifully. everything was written down so no discussion about their responsibilities and mine. i'm very pleased and would highly recommend them.

Austin came out quickly for an estimate and started work the next day. They gave me a fantastic deal for six 70ft trees in hard-to-access areas. They even worked in -10 degree weather. Everything cleaned up nicely except for some landscaping/mulching needed in the spring, but that's a lot easier to deal with than a tree falling through my house. Highly recommend Upstate Tree for the money.
