Responded to my message quickly. Came out and gave me an estimate within a day or two. Then came and did the work that same weekend. He did exactly what he said he would do. Trimmed the grass along the driveway, cleaned the driveway and sealed it. The job was extremely neat and clean.

Scott was very easy to work with. He stopped by and dropped of a quote a couple days after we called him. He's a little hard to understand on his cell phone but he's very responsive. He offers a 5% discount coupon on Angie's list, so our final cost was $123.50 per driveway. His quote sheet didn't indicate whether or not tax was included (which he should, because some of his competitors came in with lower prices....but did not include tax!) He got us on the schedule literally one day after I called to say he could do both driveways. Since I was at work when he arrived, my wife said he was very friendly and took his time doing both driveways. He did a great job. Very thick application, oil base, no spills or splashes. Meticulous (my wife's word) in his work. It took him a while to finish and he pointed out some of the concerns with both driveways, but overall we are very pleased and would hire him again in two years when its time to seal again.

The final product was great, I have no complaints. It looks great, it was an extremely neat and professional job. I will be calling them again next year for sure.

Went very well, he provides a date and shows up then. He's dedicated to sealing, uses the more reliable hot asphalt finish, much better than the buckets of sealant you can buy at Home Depot. His work is very neat, no spillage or mess, coverage complete--does a good job.

Scott is an interesting character... he's kind of... mellow. But he seemed pretty knowledgeable, and he turned out to be very honest. He told me that yes, my driveway would certainly benefit from being torn up and replaced. But it was not too far gone for him to seal well. I had suspected the other companies (which I won't name) of up-selling, anyway. He told me that I would still be able to see most of the major cracks, and the holes and depressions would be smoothed up somewhat, but not all the way, and the major damaged areas would be repaired but they would definitely not look like a new driveway. However, it would look a heck of a lot better than it did, it'd be all a uniform color of "new-asphalt" black, it'd be a lot smoother, and most importantly, it would be properly and fully sealed for a winter or two (he recommended re-sealing it again the following year, which I would have done anyway, and I'll probably call him to do it). I thought those disclaimers were fair, since everyone else who had looked at the driveway had told me how badly damaged it was, so it's not like he was telling me anything I didn't suspect already. He scrubbed the driveway clean, blew all the leaves off (he even leaf-blew my front lawn for us, since he had the machine on him, into a nice pile!), scrubbed out all the moss in the asphalt cracks, pulled out the loose asphalt chunks and the damaged areas, broke up and smoothed out/flattened/repaired a curious mound of asphalt that the previous owner had left during what looked like a botched repair job 4-5 years ago, and sealed the whole drive -- a pretty decent sized driveway, L-shaped, and about 4 car lengths by 2 car widths. I called him on a Monday, he came out on a Wednesday to estimate, and then did the work Thursday, the next day. Scott was right -- it definitely does not look like a new driveway. But he did everything he said he would, and it looks to me like he did a good job. I guess when the freeze comes and goes, in April, when everything thaws, I'll know for real how well the seal held up, but I'm pretty darn satisfied... especially for only $350 instead of $7000! Definitely recommend -- a stand-up guy and a good work ethic, and honest to boot!

Called for a free estimate, leaving a message on Mr. Drummond's phone. He returned the call only a couple hours later and an estimate was left in my mailbox while at work. Mr. Drummond had an Angie's List customer discount coupon on Angie's List, which "sealed" the deal for me. He came out the day after I agreed to his offer, since he was going to be in my area. How refreshing to find contractors who actually take great pride in their work! These guys are efficient, polite and very experienced at doing a high quality job. They are almost obsessively neat?they laid down a tape at the end of our driveway for a perfectly straight line, so as not to slop sealer into the roadway! And they covered every inch of the driveway without so much as a drop of tar on our sidewalks and stone walls. Naturally, they cleaned up completely when the job was done and roped off the end of the driveway. They do charge a bit more than the ?cut rate? guys, but you generally get what you pay for, and these guys are definitely worth every penny. If you need your driveway resealed, you would be crazy to hire anyone other than Secure Seal.

The work turned out excellent. Scott Drummond has done the most exceptional work. He is the finest of all the contractors I have had in 40 years. The work was great and will not require any follow up. He has an exceptional gift with the work he does. I have been a tradesmen for over 40 years and I normally do all the work myself. The work was as close to perfection as it could have been. Their work was provided with so much precision. His associate did a great job as well.

Based on the stellar Angie's List reviews of Scott Drummond's Secure Seal, I called Scott and set up a time for him to look at the driveway. He arrived exactly as planned, described exactly what he would do as we looked at the driveway, quoted me an incredibly reasonable price, and arrived the next day as he said he would, precisely on time. I did not ask about repairing cracks or holes, as I needed to keep this as inexpensive as possible. Note to customers: if all you're paying for is driveway sealing, don't expect it to magically repair cracks and holes. Those kinds of repairs require additional time and materials and, of course, expense. Scott and his partner Mike first edged the driveway - got all the overgrowing grass and dirt away, then cleaned off the driveway thoroughly. Then they sealed it. I watched, fascinated, as Scott spread the sealer and Mike carefully made sure any drips (very few) were wiped clean of any surface they didn't belong on. They were quiet, efficient, thorough. Even down to the chalk line at the base of the driveway so the edge looks neat at the street. My husband was thrilled to see how well they did it and how quickly. A nasty job (for us) over and done, with no fuss, no muss. I have worked with many, many contractors as we own a few investment properties. We have worked with the good, the bad and the incompetent. Every one of them wanted some amount of money up front - a guarantee that they would get paid. I expect, especially with a small business operator, to pay immediately, on site, or to leave a check if I can't be there. I arrange to be there because I want to see that the work is done correctly, but also because work well done needs to be paid as promised. Because Scott behaved in a professional manner from the start, I made sure I could hand him the check for the job, which I did just before he finished up. If I had not been able to do this, I would have arranged for a neighbor or family member to do this in my stead. I've already got Scott in my calendar for next year's sealing. He recommended that I seal it again next year because it had gone so many years without sealing. But while he could have told me that I needed to do it every year, he didn't. He said that after next year, I can then do it every other year. That kind of honesty will get my business and my recommendation over and over.

I called Secure Seal for an estimate. Scott was receptive, got me an estimate relatively quickly. Initially, I decided not to have him do it because we were having company soon, but Scott followed up a month later, and we scheduled them to seal it. They sealed the driveway. Our driveway is in fairly rough shape, with quite a few cracks, but this is our first asphalt driveway we've had, and had never had a driveway sealed before. I think I expected more--that there would be some improvement in the cracks or filling in--but honestly, the driveway still looks pretty cracked. That may be what I should have expected, but I'll admit it didn't look as good as I had hoped. After the sealing is where things got a bit weird. Scott called a couple of times to see if he could come by and pick up the check. Neither time worked for me--one was during the work day, another on the weekend when we had plans. I asked him if he could just leave an invoice in my mailbox (or just mail me one)--he said he could. Instead, he showed up at my door on a Sunday evening with the invoice in hand and asked for the check. Again, I told him I would send him the check--we were in the middle of dinner. The next evening I used my bank to send him a check. On Wednesday, he calls again saying that I told him it would be in the mail Monday morning and here it is Wednesday evening and I haven't received it. I've described what happened and maybe it doesn't sound odd to others, but to me it just felt strange. I have people do work on my house all the time. If I'm around, I pay them then. If not, they leave me a bill, I pay it, and on the rare occasions where I forget they send me another invoice in 30 days. It's all handled professionally. Scott doesn't work this way--it feels like a low budget, kind of desperate operation. I don't know if it really is, but it feels that way. I'd never hire him again because of this and I wouldn't recommend that anyone else does either,

Contacted Scott and he said soon as the weather forecast is right for sealing my driveway, he would call the day before to let me know if the following day would be OK. This happened exactly as planned and my driveway was sealed to perfection.

Before he started Scott went over everything that was needed to do the job so there were no surprises. Super neat job. Scott repaired holes and eroded areas, thoroughly cleaned the surface, and carefully applied the sealant - even working around 55' of fencing with a paintbrush. I thought Scott was exceptionally professional throughout. I hired him because of the excellent reviews he received on Angie's List and it was no mistake.

Scott provided a great estimate, did the job ahead of time and provided information for access time. The job was very neat, no black garage doors, or sidewalk. cleanup was great too. Appeared to use excellent sealer as compared to the last vendor. Recommend using Secure Seal

Fabulous job. Not so much as a drop out of place. Thick, precise coverage; the few cracks were sealed. Scott was cordial, prompt, courteous and professional. His phone will ring again the next time we need to seal the drive.

We found Scott on Angie's List and hired him based on his customer reviews which, we happily discovered, were right on the money. A real pro and a pleasant guy. We have a very long and large driveway with uneven edges, rocks, plantings, etc., which creates quite a challenging canvas for a guy with a huge squeegee and buckets of hot sealant, but Scott was a genuine artist. He cleaned the driveway thoroughly and trimmed grass and vegetation before he got to work with the sealant. And it was the neatest sealing job I've ever seen -- not a drop of black anywhere but on the asphalt itself. The price he quoted was fair, he scheduled promptly and showed up when he said he would and got the job done without delay (even though the temperature was 94 degrees that day). I was very impressed. A five-star rating in my book and I would not hesitate to call him again. Recommend highly.

I found Scott on Angie's List and gave him a call. Knowing at the time that other people in the area were on a several week long wating list for thier driveways to get sealed. Scott called me back within the day (Tuesday) and said he would stop by my place to do an estimate within the week. On Saturday he called back with the estimate and said that he was doing two other houses in the area tomorrow and was wondering if i wanted to have him seal it the next day. I gave him the go ahead. He did a detail oriented job clearning the driveway and pulling the grass edges back. The sealing job he did was extremely clean without any residual on the house, walkway or the curb.I would recommend Scott to anyone who needs thier driveway sealed. He is a little more expensive than the large companies but i think his responsiveness and superior work make it worth it.

Scott was sealing a neighbor's driveway so I stopped over to ask if he could seal my driveway. My driveway has rock walls on both sides of it and it is difficult to get an estimate for sealing let alone someone to do the job at all. In the past sealing companies have gotten sealer all over the rocks! Scott came over after finishing the neighbors job and sealed my driveway which AMAZING PRECISION! Really, you should have seen this guy make straight lines and especially a perfectly straight line at the end of the driveway where it meets the road. Oh and I should mention that the biggest problem sealing my driveway is removing debris from the corners where the rock walls meet the driveway- he did an awesome job of this. This was totally random and spontaneous on my part; which rarely turns out for good; I'd never seen Scott before and the neighbor had never used him before either- but this time it did work out great! I've had a few estimates lower than Scott's before (but some of them estimate but never actually show up to do the job) but he is definitely worth the little extra money!
