Potter Heating/A-C & Perrone Plumbing

I was very pleased with this company. Jason, the person who made the original estimate and performed the work, was knowledgeable and efficient. He explained everything that would be done and did a couple of extra things with the plumbing. This company charged far less than the other two that gave me estimates and was the only one that said the plumbing for the downstairs bathroom could be done through the basement floor rather than cutting into the dining room wall.

My AC sprung a leak late Sunday night (I was able to just turn the unit off and sweat it out for the night!) and the service tech was there by 8:30 Monday morning. When I called the following week for the hot water tank fix they were able to come that very day! Both service techs were knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely be contacting them in the fall to have my furnace cleaned!

These people screwed me over. Do not hire!! Their tech left a bleed valve open on a radiator. It leaked for four days while I was out of town. I came back to find paint sloughing off the walls of the room under the leak, original 1918 woodwork warped, ceiling and walls wet and full of mold. I called the guy back from potter and he saw what had happened and said, did I leave that valve open? I'm so sorry. We had a talk about how I hoped he wouldn't lose his job. My contactor and insurance adjuster agreed that the damage was $9500. My insurance covered all buy deductible, thanks travelers! But I'm left 1k out of pocket. My insurance asked theirs to compensate and Potter said no, that we have no evidence it was their fault and that my conversation with the guy was only hearsay. They know what happened and they are in the wrong. All I can do is warn others about them and that a company having insurance doesn't mean they will use it fairly. I can't believe business owners could be so unethical. I still hope the worker did not lose his job.

Great! The repair person showed up exactly at the scheduled time and completed the installation (removal of old sink and pipes, addition of new sink and pipes) within three hours. I've hired Potter/Perrone for work before and they always do a terrific job. I definitely recommend them to anyone needing home heating, air conditioning, or plumbing work!

I had countless issues with the work performed by Potter/Perrone. The work dragged out over months, their quality is sub par, and staff is EXTREMELY unprofessional. When I called to talk to a manager regarding my issues, he stated "you are just one of those Hillary Clinton types who have work done and don't expect to pay anything". I would never refer Potter/Perrone and hope that this sways you to use another service.

I placed my original call to the company at 7:45am and explained my situation to a woman over the phone. She set me up for a service appointment between the hours of 1pm and 3pm. At 3pm, after not hearing from the company or technician, I called back and was told by a female staff member that they were very busy and that she would take my information. Having taken time off from work to be available for their technician, I asked simply for a courtesy call to let me know the person was running late...I'm fully conscious of how things can take longer than anticipated but communication is important. After not hearing back from anyone at the company, I called again at 4:55pm and spoke with a man who seemed to have no idea about my service appointment and again took all my information down. He said it would put it in as an emergency, even after I explained that I had already had an appointment. To my surprise I was contacted withing 15 minutes but someone who said the rate would be in excess of $180 per hour for him to come and look at my hot water heater that evening. Then, at 5:45pm, I received another call from someone at the organization that they were on their way. After an hour of taking apart the burner assembly, and hearing him on the phone calling local hardware stores, I was informed that their was nothing that could be done since my thermocouple has left hand threading. I understand this is unique and not the technician's fault, and thanked him for his time. He said someone from the office would call me in the morning. I received a call this morning telling me that I should look to buy the part online and that was the resolution. So, while I'm sure many people have had good experiences with this company, suffice it to say that mine was decidedly not. I have also read the company response to other reviews indicating that they always tell their customer what their price per hour and service fees are, however that definitely did not happen for me and as a result I have no idea what the total bill will actually be.

Awesome service! Honest technicians! We did not need new faucets at all and he was able to quickly and inexpensively repair the ones that we had! Thank you!

I have used Potter Perrone in the past and was pleased with their work. I intended to replace my furnace and AC unit in the Spring 2015 and had Potter Perrone provide an estimate. During the holiday season, my furnace stopped working. I had Potter Perrone install the new furnace and AC coil. The installation went well but I was left with a bit of a mess and there was some damage to the walls. One hose was not replaced (for the up pump) and it leaked necessitating an emergency service call. I felt the service call could have been avoided if the hose was simply replaced as it should have been. This spring, Potter Perrone came out and installed a water back up system for my sub pump and then the AC unit. I am pleased with the equipment, but once again I felt the mess left for me was excessive. I have a very expensive piece of exercise equipment in my basement that I was not instructed to move and/or cover. I did not anticipate the dust, muddy shoe prints, etc. that would be left behind. Also following all three projects, there were sharp metal pieces left on the floor as well as other debris from the installation.

The provider replaced a hot air propane furnace that they installed in 1998 with a new Carrier propane furnace. We also have central air conditioning they installed in 2002. After the new furnace installation, the fan on the air conditioner kept cycling on and off. We called them to come take a look and the service person told us they had wired it wrong and fixed the problem The fan stopped cycling. This past week we attempted to use the air conditioner for the first time and it wouldn't come on. We called them to come back and the service technician said it was a very poor wiring job, asked if I had done it myself, which my wife said no it was your company. He re-wired everything and the air conditioner works, but now the fan keeps recycling on and off again. We have turned off both the heat and cooling at the thermostat and the fan still keeps cycling on and off. It has been doing it all night and we now smell an ozone smell down cellar and are worried about something burning out. I called to have them come back today and they said they are booked until Monday. I told them this can't wait until Monday and want them here today. The lady that answers their phone said she would speak with the service manager and call me back. She called back and said that their general manager doesn't think they are capable of satisfying us and that we should call someone else. They won't come back.

I had them install a new furnace and hot water system for my son at his business. They supplied the unit but we discussed what was going to be installed. The whole package with repairs that were necessary was $6000. I like their quality of service, their reasonable prices and they are very responsive. I got a warranty with the unit.

The service went very well and the staff was great. It was not long to install. He took the old one out and put in the new one. They showed up on time.

SETTING THE STANDARDS IN GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I contacted Potter Heating about a broken boiler (winter temps below 0 and a sick elderly father in the household) after getting no response from another HVAC provider. I should have called them FIRST. The operator handling the call was concerned, empathetic, responsive, and very professional. The boiler repairman was not immediately available, but Potter called 3 times throughout the day with updates as to when the repairman would arrive. This meant a GREAT deal and gave us confidence the problem would be resolved. The repairman and asst. were prompt, professional, courteous, knowledgeable and SKILLED.. Even nice to our new puppy :) The charges were very reasonable and fair. Have been recommending Potter heating to everyone I know. Thank you, Potter.

Mark called as he was on his way and then again as the GPS told him wrongly where the house was located. He worked very efficiently through all the vagaries of our old and weird house. I was very happy that he cleaned up everything and best of all tested the system very thoroughly. I KNEW before he left that there would be no problems. It was a pleasure watching someone strive for quality in all the little things as well as the big ones. I am extremely pleased.

Service was good- thorough...... price was way too high for a service call, plus a and quot;feeand quot; on top of the service call.Not reasonable- would not use them again......

This particular experience is now standard practice in my house -- the fall maintenance of my furnace -- but I've lost track of how many times I've called Potter-Perrone for help in either HVAC or plumbing situations -- emergencies, remodeling, standard maintenance. Over the years, they've consolidated and replaced my furnaces, replaced a water heater, saved me with major water leaks and on and on. My line in recommending them now is simply, and quot;They've kept me warm and dry for years.and quot; I've recommended them to many, many people, including family, and have always been proud to do so. Suzanne DeFuria, the owner, is scrupulous about being up-to-date with her equipment, the condition of her trucks and installation. She has never hesitated to tell me, when needed, and quot;No, you don't really need that, do this instead.and quot; Her workers always have been prompt, efficient and clean (oh, those little footie things!). For me, she is the epitome of customer service. This is a high recommendation from a longtime, happy customer.

I called Perrone Plumbing at 9:00AM on Labor Day, Tim called me back within 10 minutes! I described my problem to him and he hit the road to my house. He drove from Hannibal to Cicero in 35 minutes and immediately got to work! Within 45 minutes my drain pipe was cleaned out and everything was good again. I can't say enough about how responsive, knowledgeable, and professional Tim was! Thanks to Tim and Perrone for saving my basement from what could have been a God-awful mess! It was a little pricey, but it was a holiday and paying a premium price was to be expected. Don't ever hesitate to call Perrone for your plumbing needs, especially emergencies!

The plumber arrived on time and began the installation immediately. He quickly assembled the strainer basket in the new sink and then attached the faucet to the sink. The faucet was a Delta Touch Faucet which he said he had never installed before. He then installed the sink with faucet assembly into the new counter top. Since I had glanced through the installation instructions prior to his arrival, I questioned him about some of the installation procedures for the faucet and the sink but he assured me that everything was all right. He finished the job in about 75 minutes. I was not totally satisfied with the installation and went to the company to see a supervisor. I explained that I felt that the plumber worked TOO fast and did not take the time do the installation correctly. I discussed a few specific concerns I had about the installation. The supervisor understood my concerns and agreed to send someone else to my home to address those concerns to my satisfaction. Another plumber showed up the morning of the next business day and made the necessary adjustments to the initial installation without any further cost to me. I rated the OVERALL Experience a and quot;Band quot; due to the fact that the second plumber had to come to the house twice in 1 day to satisfactorily complete the proper installation of the faucet.

They were excellent and I recommend them. They were professional and their prices were good.

Evaluated furnace performance/efficiency, described pros and cons of manufacturer/model furnaces. Provided excellent feedback on performance of each model. Showed that there was no evidence of CO (carbon monoxide) or cracks in heat exchangers.

Had a leak in shower that was damaging ceiling. Found the problem quickly and caulked space in between shower and tile. No hot water in other shower made that repair quickly. Came the next day after we called them and fixed both problems within an hour.

They send the same person each time we call so he knows our house and the issues that have gone on in the past. Thery are friendly and get the job done every time without leaving us in the poorhouse!

not well once you sign up for the job pand p then forces a divided between the two companies. so they don't actually work together on a project to get the best out come, it's never clear who is your person to talk to with problems or ask questions. i could go on and on....besides the disgruteled employees that do the service the service it's self is poor. i had a pedestal sink installed and you can see ALL the plumbing, yes all of it. the drain should of gone to the floor (which was wide open) the valves should of been put up higher. the furnace vent in the roof wasn't flashed correctly so now water comes down the roof to the vent and onto the furnace. some of the holes cut for the duct work were to big and needed repair, when the gas lines were run they were to lazy to go around a beam forcing the contractor to build out the beam because of a gas line. when the gas lines were hooked up to the main gas servies they left out washers, so when the gas was turned on carbon monixide leaked into the whole building and i had to have nation grid come and turn off the gas and wait for it to "air out". i wrote two letters, the first one was to make them aware of the communication breakdowns between techs/administration, and the 2 was major plumbing errors, i included pictures of the problems. it went unacknowledged. the 2nd letter was to ask them to contact me about the roof/furnace that also went unacknowledged. in addition i sent an email that did get a response from the president and she was very eager to help and make good with a roof repair. the administration is friendly and knowledgeable, but the staff that preforms is so-so. i would go for the smaller guy on my next job

I was happy with their service and efficiency. He was very knowledgeable. He discovered something that I had done before that need fixing and took care of it. Arrived in a timely manner. Very courteous and neat.

Our service went really well with them because the guy we usually use was sick and we had used him before and he did a good job so we called him again.
