REVIEW OF SYRACUSE BRANCH: Utterly horrible. Do NOT hire these people to handle any of your pest control issues. They are extremely unprofessional, lack communication and will charge you a fortune for services they half-a** or simply to not provide AT ALL. It is unbelievable they are still in business. They will keep your card on file and continue to charge you even when you ask for it to be removed/canceled. They show up at random without sufficient notice. They charge hundreds of dollars to look at EMPTY traps and walk around your house. STAY FAR AWAY from these grimy salesmen - because that is what they are!!!

They're pretty good, we have not had a problem. On the price, I'm not too sure because we've had them the last couple of years and we're on an automated payment. They're very responsive. Since we're on a rotating service, they'll call every three months right around the time we need services to schedule a time for them to come. They'll call in 24 hours before just to give you a reminder when they're scheduled to come.

We have an ant problem. He said they were carpenter ants. He would spray and it would take care of ant, spiders, roaches and rodents. For the first time to come out would be $200. Every other month after that would be $80. He also said that carpenter ants are not as destructive as termites and service may not be necessary. He was polite and not pushy. They were quick. I called and they were there that day. They were right on time.

They are great! The people are very nice and reputable. They call to remind of the upcoming appointment.

Orkin's representatives were very prompt and professional. We would have used their service, but they did not find a need for it.

They were very professional and timely. They cleaned up their mess. We have not had any repeat issues of the original problem. They did a great job.

No ants for first time in years! Mice caught and hopefully eliminated! Two technicians I've met could not be nicer or more professional or knowledgable

Orkin came for the first consultation 3 weeks ago and told me that they guaranteed they'd find the nest and kill all the carpenter ants. A few days later a tech showed up and put down a sugar bait that attracted every ant in the neighborhood it seemed. I was against this but he did it anyway telling me that this would kill the ants. I was not told that there would be hundreds of them coming in. I was told by the first tech that they never find the nest like the first young man claimed. I paid them $350 which is $100 more than other companies and I was made to understand that the ones we saw would be killed. We were infested with over 300 ants each morning and thousands in my basement. A week later another man came out and said he'd never seen so many. He did explain that it was normal to see the problem increase but then he sprayed poison inside and outside my home. My floors and carpets were sprayed with this watery poison substance that made everything dirty and sticky and still hundreds of ants appeared. We were told not to mop the floors for at least 2 weeks. A few days later he said I could mop the floors because I told him what a mess the house was.The ants still came and now there are huge winged ants flying around and new baby ants as well The problem worsened ten times and again I was told by Orkin this was normal. Today there aren't as many ants but the weather has been cold so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I spoke to another company that offers the same services, but they said that baiting the ants with that sugary substance was the worse thing that could be done because it attracted so many ants. There was a better solution and I have been through h*** with these ants! The other place uses another method that would have kept them out of site. The man from the other company found the entrance point that Orkin never even looked for. I believe they took my money and now nobody there wants to talk to me now that the bill has been paid in full. I would have liked a representative to talk to me about other options the could have offered to me other than the way they baited my home. I believe Orkin could have used an alternative method that would have worked. I can't get anyone over here and the manager won't take my calls. He was to call me Tuesday to let me know if he could come over, and I still haven't heard back from him. Today is Thursday already, I called again this morning and couldn't get anyone to talk to me.

Orkin Pest Control were very good. I was very pleased with the work.

They were a class act. They were expensive but they were one of the few exceptions where you got what you paid for. They guaranteed their work and I had an infestation of millipedes around my house and they took care of that for me when other companies said it was not possible. They made seven visits a year and they made sure that the problem was taken care of. They were not cost friendly but they certainly were worth it. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

They have done a good job. They have come extra times if I saw more bees or more ants they come again.

They were very expensive. I will not use them in the future.

The first few services were okay. However, the last 3 appointments, the technician did not show up and did not call to let me know they weren't coming. I had to call the office to reschedule. The last time this happened, I had to reschedule 3 times. The first visit, they failed to give me the one hour call-ahead that I had requested (I requested this after they had failed to show up for the previous two appointments...so I did not have to leave work early only to sit around for hours) and I wasn't there. I had to reschedule and they didn't show up for that appointment. I rescheduled again and they showed up earlier than my appointment window while I was still at work and not there. Rescheduled again for a day I had off from work and they finally showed up. I have since discontinued my service with Orkin and have gone with another pest control company. First technician put down the wrong mouse traps outside. The next 2 visits, they were supposed to have them replaced, but this was never done. Their technicians (when they do show up) are very professional and seem well trained. I have had mixed results with Orkin in other areas. The service I received at my house outside the Rochester area was terrible (I believe they were scheduled out of the Amherst, NY office). Prior to that, I had used Orkin in Texas and Georgia and their service was outstanding...never missed an appointment, always on time and came back between treatments when needed.

They are very responsive. The workers are very polite. They explained everything in detail.

Initial service and technician were excellent. He explained the entire process and the need for follow-up visits for one year to completely eliminate the problem. However, after that, it went downhill. Company routinely called with an automated message 2 days prior to each service date, but on 2 occasions within an 8 day span of time they never showed up. In addition, company does not provide any window of time in which they will arrive, only the date. This makes it very difficult for people who work (like me) as I waited ALL DAY on both of those dates, only to have them never show up. They also never called to reschedule the service. I spoke with a supervisor after the second incident, who assured me he would resolve the situation. A week later no service had been scheduled and he never returned my call. I placed a follow-up phone call to a Manager who did resolve that issue by sending out a technician within 48 hours, but I had already lost two days of work. In January of 2010 they billed me for a service but never sprayed the outside of the house. When I questioned this they stated they "don't spray in the winter months." This was not revealed to me when I signed the original contract. My contract expired in August of 2010, but I received yet another automated call at the beginning of September informing me of my next service date. When I called the office to question whether my contract had expired they stated "yes." I then asked why they would still be coming if my contract was up, they stated they continue coming every other month unless I call to change the service. I think this is deceitful to the customer. I chose Orkin due to their national reputation but I will NEVER use them again.

I THOUGHT THEY WERE A GREAT COMPANY. THEY SHOWED UP RIGHT ON SCHEDULE AND WERE VERY COURTEOUS, HELPFUL, AND PROFESSIONAL. I THOUGHT THEIR PRICE WAS FAIR. I DIDN'T SEE ANY BUGS AFTER THEY CAME AND SPRAYED SO THEY DID A GOOD JOB.
