Onondaga Flooring

Several months ago we replaced flooring the entire lower level of our house. We picked out absolutely beautiful LVP from Onondaga Flooring. Loved the floor. Heard great things from people about this company. Shopped several flooring company's. Got many estimates. Begged my husband for this floor, with this company, because they 'are the best.' Well, the contractors they sent, sent one young guy to install. He was fairly new he said. Does this on the side. The job was supposed to take 2/3 days. It took a week. No big deal, had it been installed well. The poor guy was overwhelmed. His cuts were imperfect. The floor wasn't set well in some placed. I complained to OF. They contractor boss came and repaired what he could. There are still areas that were not done well. The $7000 floor was left dirty. Shavings and grime everywhere. We had many better estimates. I pleaded with my husband to go with the floor I loved, with the company that was highly recommended. I'm still unhappy and it's been 6 months.

We were very pleased with our interactions with Onondaga Flooring. Marianne was extremely friendly and took the time to help us make the right selection of carpet for our needs. The estimate, ordering and installation of the carpet was all done in a timely manner. The installers did an excellent job. We have used Onondaga Floors in the past and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

The work was beautiful but the lady I spoke with on the phone would say one thing to me and then another thing to my daughter who was sharing the expense of the work. I think my daughter was charged between $700 to $900 more for the bathroom floor. It would have been okay if the lady had told us the real reason, but there wasn't any reason. The quality was great and everything. The price was exorbitant and the lady (on the phone) was dishonest. The installer was great but the store itself -- the lady -- was terrible. For professionalism I give the store and F and the installer an A, because he was very good. It was just the lady trying to be cheaper. She was trying to get more money than they said.

they are not reliable company they started their contract with dishonesty and they cheated us through out. until we found out that they installing the floor with defected wood and more cupping noticed as they progressed. we called the store and they admitted the hard wood is defected and they stated they have to stop the job. now Is more than two weeks my first floor is ripped all my furniture s are displaced, have no kitchen or sitting area i called them several times and they are not taking any responsibility for their breach of contract or trust . i wont trust this flooring company any more and wont recommend to any one.

From first visit to store to installation, I was completely pleased with everyone and the results.

Enjoyed working with them. We first visited the store on a Saturday to get some information about new carpet and there was only one person working. She was assisting another customer and after 20 minutes of waiting we decided to try back another time. When we returned a week later, she remembered that we had stopped in previously, apologized for not being able to help us that day, and thanked us for coming back. We selected three carpets we liked and she provided us with samples to take home and provided us with a ballpark estimate for the carpet, padding, installation and removal of existing carpet. When we decided to move forward with the carpet we selected, we called to arrange a time for someone to come get official measurements. He arrived on time and was polite and quick. We called to receive a final estimate with the exact measurements and to put down a deposit and order the carpet. Once the carpet came in, we were able to schedule installation. The time table they gave us (7-10 days for carpet to come in and 7-10 days out for installation date) were accurate. After we scheduled installation, I called to see if we could bump it up to an earlier date and they were very accommodating. The installers were polite and had three bedrooms completed in about three hours. Overall a great experience!

We worked with Michael. He took a lot of time with us, was knowledgeable and answered all questions in straightforward fashion. We needed a few different carpets for different areas and he made great suggestions?even finding a remnant that he thought we would like (and indeed we bought). He helped us to keep on budget. It was easy to reach him and if he he wasn't immediately available , then would promptly return calls. Installation went smoothly. Rich and Sean showed up on time and conducted themselves as professionals. Conscientious, very hard-working guys.They seemed to know the exact game plan for each day and went about it methodically and without interruption. They seemed to work well together and take pride in their work. I think they did a great job. It was our pleasure to have them in our home.

Frankly, we didn't know where to turn for our new runner. Flooring is not something a family deals with on a regular basis. First we tried the big box stores, but were put off by the lack of guidance and limited selection. Besides, we felt paying for materials and labor up front was risky. Then we shopped the carpet stores where our experience varied from take-it-or-leave it, to being overwhelmed by choices. Our last stop was Onondaga Flooring (the furthest from our home) where we were amazed at how smoothly things went. Maryanne, listened carefully, took note of our budget, and then skillfully guided us through the choices. We found something we liked and she came out that same day and measured. This was a Friday and the installation was the following Tuesday. Mike called on Monday to confirm the installation and at that time we posed a question about a possible miter at one end of the hallway. No problem. He would have the installer bring extra material in case we needed it. Rick, showed up on time, and worked carefully to make every thing look great (and cleaned up afterwards). Finally Maryanne called to follow up and make sure we were satisfied. We are happy, and highly recommend.

Erin was very professional to work with, and we love the Mohawk Laminate Flooring that we purchased. And we were very pleased with Mike, their flooring installation specialist. When we had questions while installing the flooring, Mike was available and graciously helped us when we called. Thank you, Erin and Mike!

Excellent job all around. The salesman kept me notified about scheduling, and I was given plenty of notice prior to installation, Installers arrived promptly as scheduled. They were friendly and professional. The downstairs provided an additional challenge in that there was a second layer of carpet underneath the top one, and it was glued to the concrete floor. The workers removed it, a messy, tough job, and took away all the old adhesive and disintegrated backing before installing the new carpet and vinyl flooring.

Salesman took time to show us all the various types of hardwood and vinyl flooring. Whe he cam out to measure he showed up at the scheduled time. When wood flooring was to be delivered we were given a two hour window of time and driver was there right at the start of the time span. Took two days to complete the install. The two installers were very friendly and careful to keep work area clean as possible even sweeping up the little sawdust on the driveway at the end of each day. Also they were very helpful in explaining the best way to move appliances on the floor to avoid damage to the floor

The floor looks great! Problems with the subfloor were discovered after they removed the carpet. They helped us find a contractor to replace parts of the subfloor and then did their installation. Very professional. Careful workers and great clean-up.

The installers did a wonderful job and were very nice men. We are very happy with the carpet. However, when Marty Michel came to measure to order the carpeting in November, he failed to bring to our attention that since the hallway flooring was going from vinyl to carpet, two doors would need to be cut down to allow for the difference in height of flooring. Therefore, no prior arrangements were made to have that done. After the carpet was installed, the installers could not replace the doors they had removed to install the carpet in the hallway. They told us that the doors would need to be cut down, and then they left. I talked to Mr. Michel on the phone after the installers left, as I needed to pay for the remainder owed on the job, and asked him what I might do about the doors needing to be cut down. He then said he thought that the installers would charge about $35 a door to do that. We were unaware that the installers could have done it if arrangements had been made, the installers did not mention that they could have done it. I said ?they did not volunteer?. Mr. Michel off handedly commented: ?do you have a circular saw??, but offered no other remedy. We are not very experienced at having carpeting installed and needed to be more informed. Many places sell carpeting, we chose Onondaga Flooring for the personal professional service also and don?t believe it was what we expected. We are seniors and were surprised to be left with doors that needed a carpenter. We gladly would have paid the extra charge to alter the doors if we had been given the opportunity. PS: I sent the owner, Michael Perry in Syracuse, the above with the usual "comment card". After he received notice of the above Angie's list posting and the "comment card", he called me. He was so very nice and apologetic for the situation. He had not been notified by his employees that we had been caught off guard about needing the doors cut down. I had not thought to take the matter further than with the store employees. We had since gotten the doors cut to facilitate the change in flooring height. He stated that he would have facilitated the door adjustment if he had known about it. We will be having more flooring installed in the future, but felt uneasy about not "knowing what I don't know" when someone comes out to measure for the job. The owner assured me he would come himself to measure and make recommendations as to what we might want and/or need for any future transaction.

No pressure from salesperson to purchase most expensive product or to sign contract right away. Encouraged me to bring home carpet pieces to pick the best color. Explained differences in products clearly. Installers were clean and neat.

They were incredibly fast and efficient. They were terrific. They were excellent. I could not tell you about price as I did not price compare. I would absolutely use them again in the future!

We needed area rugs for several rooms and wanted bound remnants. Onondaga Flooring had a very large selection and we were able to find just what we wanted. They cut at least one rug to fit the dimensions that we needed, delivered all rugs and pads and placed them in the rooms for us. Good experience.

It is a gorgeous basement like an apartment. I had misunderstanding with a new salesperson on the cost and the work to be done on the estimate originally given to me. The owner came over and apologized. He settled the dispute and figured everything out. They gave me a good price. The owner took care of everything; he lowered the price on the carpeting which I didn’t even ask for. They really did a great job. I am very pleased with the work completed and they are at the top of my list.

We wanted several remnants to partially cover our hardwoods and visited four stores including Onondaga Flooring. We met Marty, the salesman, and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. He went the extra mile making sure we would be satisfied with our purchase. We ended up buying seven great pieces and they look great in our home. Thanks Marty for all of your help........

They did a very good job. No complaints on the workmanship. Since I'm writing a few years after this job was completed I can tell you the carpet itself has been a good value over time.

From my initial visit to the installation of wall to wall carpet in our basement, my experience with Onondaga Flooring was outstanding. They spent a lot of time with me to find the best quality rug for the best price. There were NO HIDDEN COSTS and the installers were incredibly friendly and efficient. I look forward to working with Onondaga Flooring again very soon

They were very good and I liked what they did. They do carpeting, linoleum and all that kind of thing. They were very attentive and their prices were pretty good. They also explained everything pretty great. It so happened that I needed a new rug and at the time I was going around and pricing rugs seeing different companies and they really did a great job. I spent a little over $1500 on that service. The sales and service was great. They came in and had to put the padding, the rug, and all of that down. The price that I got at the store was what it was and there were no hidden fees and nothing hidden. They also had financing if it was something I could not pay for right then and it was pretty reasonable. The workers were on time, cleaned up everything and there was no mess.

This a first class company. They made sure we got exactly what was right for us, worked around our schedule to install, put in the carpet, and hauled away the water damaged old one. Our grandson's room looks fantastic now with this great carpet and all his hockey items. great job Onondaga Flooring

Would not recommend. Left gaps in floor. Blocked registers with wood strip. Poor job with molding.

They were very responsive and punctual. They knew what they were doing. The work went very smoothly. They were in and out really quick. They first came out and measured and then they came out, had everything, and they finished the work in a few hours time. They were very pleasant. They did a good job and I have no complaints. They didn't pressure me or lead me into anything that I didn't want when I went to the store. If I just wanted to browse, they let me browse and if I had questions, they were right there and answered them. I can say that I didn’t have any problems with them. Their price was not better than any others. I would use their service in the future if needed.

I have employed Onondaga Flooring several times in the years since I moved into my house. Their products were excellent quality with very competitive prices--I shopped around. They were on time for installations and deliveries, and never treated me as unimportant when I had a small job for them. Their workmen got right down to the installation jobs and didn't goof off. I have to say I have not needed flooring for several years now, but I will go back to them in the future.
