Onondaga County Construction

I purchased the Angies List deal for $99.00 for snow removal by Onondaga County Construction on 03/09/2015. This was the first time I had used one of Angies List deals. From the time I placed my order, Matt kept in contact with me. When Matt couldn't make the pre-arranged date, he e-mailed me to reschedule for the next day. Matt was good about following through with e-mails and phone calls prior. Although I placed the order on 03/09/2015, Matt didn't get to me until 03/17/2015 due to previous customer orders. By the time Matt arrived, Mother Nature had melted quite a bit of the snow and ice off the roof. Most of what was left was the ice dam at the edge of the roof and gutters. Matt spent about a half hour in the cold and wind removing the three inches of ice build up from the front of the house. It wasn't until after Matt left that I noticed that he hadn't checked the rear of the house for another ice dam. As the weather was warming, I let it go as I was not getting any leaks in the back parts of the house. Had I paid the full value of the service, I don't think I would have gotten my money's worth as most of the snow and ice had melted by the time Matt arrived. Next winter, I wil keep Onondaga County Construction in mind for future snow removal needs.

The deal was a great price, however due to the thaw we had I didn't need the snow/ice removal service.

Went well. We had a little difficulty arranging a time but it worked out okay. He had a co worker with him. Now that the weather is turning milder he thinks the warmer weather and sun will take care of the rest of the snow. He took care of the channels in the roof where the ice could build up.

They did a good job for us. I think there was a little confusion in the Big Deal that was placed on the list because it wasn't 99$ for an hour of service but 99$ off. He told us though right when he came over to give us the initial estimate for the full job. That was more of a clerical error.

Scheduling was fine and he arrived on time. He was responsive and returned our calls. He explained that we would need to have a new roof installed. He provided us with an estimate for the work, but we ended up using another company. I think that they would have done well with the work.

It was okay and he came out. The deal was not really worth it as other companies will do the same thing for fee. He got the job done in about 20 minutes. The scheduling was good and their responsiveness was good.

Provider wasn't able to get me the exact color for the shingles. I asked him to take pictures during the Job because I wanted to see how bad the condition of the wood was but he didn't do it. However, he was able to finish the job on time. I did a walk thru afterwards and found few unsecured nails. This was my first time having someone work on my roof. Overall, i am satisfied with the job.

The provider showed up on time. It was a warm and humid day and it was visibly difficult for the provided to work in such conditions. I can't say I could see a lot of effort in performing a detailed inspection. Rather a 3 minute walk in some parts of the roof to see the overall condition. Some minor work has been done (nailed some lose roof shingles). All together it was good to find out that the roof still has some life left but at $99 I fin it at least $50 over value.

We discovered that water was leaking into our home and that ice on the roof had formed a d***. Of course, we discovered this at 8:30pm on a Friday night! My husband called Onondaga County Construction and Matt came out the next day, as promised. The ice was removed and he gave us a quote to install heat tape/coil on the roof to allow the water to drain in the future. He came back a few days later, again, as promised, and installed the necessary materials. He never charged us for the ice removal. So far, his solution has solved our problem. Matt is honest and reliable. A great, no nonsense contractor who will give you good advice, fair prices and will complete the work when and how he promises. We are very glad to have found Onondaga County Construction and plan to call him for some siding work in the spring!

I was happy with the job that Matt and his crew did in replacing the roof on my home. They were prompt 2c professional, and courteous. Also very efficient. They did a very good job cleaning up afterwards as well. As I am selling my house, I asked Matt if the warrantee for the labor (10 years) and lifetime shingles was transferable to the new owner when I sold the house. He said he usually didn't do that but he agreed to in my case, which I appreciated

Ordered the deal on Angie's list for $50, He was professional, on time, and did an excellent job. would definately use him again.

Matt, it was nice to meet you and I will keep your card in case my budget recovers from my recent vacation. I wanted to talk to a roofer about ice build up and ice damming at the front entrance to my home. Matt made some excellent suggestions but I could not follow through right now. He was personable and he seemed to be an expert.

Everything turned out well. The young man seemed to do a thorough job, he arrived on time, and I appreciated that he called ahead asking if he could show early.

Matt did go apply sealant and fix some of the nails, which met the most critical needs.

There were some glitches, for example, during the Labor Day weekend the dumps were closed, so they couldn't clean up. Needed materials, again supplier closed for Labor Day weekend. Did some shabby work re: rafters. They did make the corrections on request. They were respectful & concerned about getting a bad review. Nevertheless, I would not use them again.

Matt was slow to contact me after my purchase, but once he did, we agreed on a time for the visit. He asked if I had any problems before he went up, and I told him about a leak around a sewer vent pipe during violent storms. When he came off the roof, he said that he sealed the leak around the pipe but recommended a new boot which would cost around $250. He also said that I needed to replace the roof ridge vent because it was only nailed in. The nails were popping out, and he also sealed those after nailing them back in. A new ridge vent would run around $500. Matt had a very low energy, flat affect both on the phone and in person. I didn't feel confidence in his ability or advice. The next day I had a contractor over to give me a quote on a home improvement project. I trusted his judgment and asked him to check on Matt's work. He verified that Matt had put sealer around the leak using a minimal amount of sealer. He agreed with Matt on the other two suggestions but said those things were not urgent. They could wait until I need a new roof in another 10 years or so.

all was done ,,, and even a tile cap was added from shingles we had since none were installed originally.

Matt, the owner of Onondaga County Construction, went above and beyond to compensate for an initial lag in communication. I did not end up using his services, only because I had to have the job done right away. In all fairness to Matt, I wasn't able to communicate that to him in our initial correspondence. I think that Matts offer to work overtime to fit us in his schedule, even offering a discount, are good indicators of a person who takes his business seriously and wants to keep his customers happy. While I cannot comment on the work quality, it appears from the other reviews that there is no problem there! I would use Matts business in the future.

Very pleased with service, quality and price! The guys came in, did their work, cleaned up, and were gone. They beat everyone else's price. We are extremely pleased with the results. it was a very positive experience. Highly recommend.

Matt was AWESOME! He was very patient with me as I took time to finally make a decision. He worked with my husband and I with the pricing, without compromising the quality of work.

We played telephone tag for awhile but once we connected I was very pleased with the service. He did a repair of the main leak around the chimney and an estimate for replacing the roof. Very reasonable! Unfortunately winter arrived before we could confirm the new roof. I will definitely contact him in the spring when the weather is good for roofing.

Suggested various solutions and completed the repair with reasonable increase in total cost of job.

Matt came with a co-worker, I showed him what I wanted to be done. He went to the roof and survived what needed to be done, he patched and replaced some of the shingles at the edges of the roof so the squirrels would not enter the attic.

Checked roof, added roofing tar in areas that seemed questionable, gave helpful advice and suggestions of further work to consider. Prompt, efficient, responsive, cost-conscious, no hard sell, very pleasant to work with.

I called him and scheduled an appointment last week. I left work half an hour early so I could be home when he was supposed to arrive. He never showed up, when I called him he said he was at the hospital because his daughter had an asthma attack (Fair enough). We re-scheduled for later in the week (Thursday). When Thursday came around it was raining so he called to cancel (Fine). We re-scheduled for Monday at 4:30. I again came home half an hour early from work, he again never showed up or called. When I called him he didn't answer. He called back today (Tuesday) and claimed he had me in his calendar for today. Well today I just want my money back. Thanks
