KOSTER'S HARDWOOD FLOORS

We purchased our hardwood floors from Koster's and were pleased with the experience. The hardwood materials were ordered timely and delivered as promised. We purchased Wickham flooring in an Ash wire brush finish and are very pleased with how they look. We will likely be ordering additional materials from Koster's when we begin our 1st floor remodel project later this year or next.

We have used Koster's Hardwood Floors twice now for major remodeling projects in our home. Both times, we went to their store-front location and worked with their staff to select our products. Each time the staff was very helpful in assisting us with our order. On both occasions, we felt we received a very fair deal and the materials were delivered in good shape and on-time, which is all we can ask for when we purchase a product. Overall, we felt our experience with Koster's was very good and we will certainly use them again in the future.

I had a very poor experience with this company and I would never recommend them. They had absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever and zero attention to detail. They were supposed to start my floors on a Monday and be finished by the end of the week. They asked if they could come on Wednesday instead because they were doing another job on Tuesday and did not want to split my job up, so I agreed. They came on Wednesday like they said, but the work was not done by the end of the week. They never told me the work wasn't going to be finished and they never told me that they don't work Saturday or Sunday. After several attempts to get ahoId of someone over the course of a few hours I finally was told that I had to wait all weekend for them to come back on Monday to finish a half a days worth of work. In the meantime I had to stay in a hotel because all of my furniture was moved out and my bathroom was full of their equipment. I had also expressed some concern over the quality of the work because it was very sloppy and there were several nail holes and gaps that had not been filled. The filler that was used in the holes that were filled did not match the floors at all and it looked absolutely terrible. The owner (Greg) told me they would TRY to fix it but said "that's just how old floors look." They had cracked a couple of my floor boards when they pounded some nails down and there were other nails that they pounded down into the floor and then never filled the holes. I was never once called or contacted in any way throughout the entire process to either update me or make sure I was happy with how everything looked. When the job was finished no one contacted me to let me know and to ask if I was satisfied or to mention/collect payment. I was supposed to have both the upstairs and downstairs floors done, but only had the upstairs done. Not only was I so unhappy with the work, but they never even bothered to finish the quote that I had asked for. I had also asked a couple of times for a contract and they never gave me one, they only gave me the quote. Overall the work was very sloppy and poorly done and I also had several spots along my freshly painted walls that were smeared with floor finish. They were also incredibly overpriced.

I am BEYOND excited for my "New" old Hardwood Floors ! ! ! I cannot describe how beautiful these floors look in a matter of 10 days. This was surely no easy task. We had other hardwood flooring companies that came in for estimates tell us that we would have to replace the entire floor due to the urine damage caused from dogs over the last 50 years. These are original hardwoods that have been wall to wall carpeted numerous times since the house was built in 1963. Greg Koster was the only hardwood contractor who came in and assured us that he could not only "sand and replace those damaged boards if the stains wouldn't sand out" but that he would have the replacement boards blend in and look like the original floors (even with the new replacement boards). This was accomplished way beyond our expectations... And, when he told us this would be dustless, we had our doubts for sure on that one. I've had many friends have "dustless hardwoods" refiinished and they've spent a week cleaning the dust thruout the house after the floors were finished. We didn't have one piece of plastic placed on a doorway and my sheer curtains were wrapped around the rod while the job was being completed. The floors and stairs were sanded I think about 6-7 times total ( 3 times between the coats of polyurethane). The curtains have no dust in them and aside from everyday "air dust" having the floor refinished cause no dust in our home. Greg Koster was 100% correct on his equipment being dustless. He only uses top of the line equipment. When I asked Greg if he could replace all the baseboards and quarter rounds and match it to my 50 year old trim work and doors he said he would certainly try his best. Mind you, all the hallway doors and trim around the doors are the old 1960's shellac style. He did a beautiful job choosing a stain that compliments the refinished hardwoods and that doesn't look odd next to the hallway doors and trim. And, he made a special trip over to the house on the weekend to show us the sample board in the daylight to see if we liked the match. Greg certainly goes above and beyond for a customer. As you see, I love my new trim work also. This is definately a TOP NOTCH hardwood flooring company. I cannot say enough nice things about the 3 young men who did this job along with Greg Koster. Polite, respectful and always right on time. All 4 of them were extremely pleasant individuals for sure. Whenever they left the job for the day, they made sure everything was neat and tidy. A true pleasure to have in our home. I wish I could put the pictures I took on this site - I have pictures from start to finish and would love to share them with anybody who is interested in seeing them. I am so proud of my floors and will recommend Koster Hardwood Floor Store to everybody I meet.

His crew does great work and are fast. A little pricey but worth it.

Greg responded to my call on a Saturday. He did an estimate a couple days later and then did the install a few days after that. The crew was professional and they did great work. I felt okay having them be in the house while i was at work. The house was spotless when I returned home in the evening. Would definitely call them again.
