+ -1 moreThe Geek Squad staff were great. I can't fault them -- they did what was necessary and did it reasonably efficiently. I have been happier with Apple's technical services, but if you have a Windows machine, they were fine. I just believe that their handling of the whole problem was disgraceful.
Description of Work: This is a problem involving Best Buy's policies and it's use of the Geek Squad. I bought a computer and within a week the motherboard failed. They arranged the repair as the computer was under warranty, but they wouldn't do the repair at the store. Then, a month later, the disk drive failed. This time they said they would again, have the company make the repair but then innocently asked how I intended to transfer the data from the failed disk to the new one. I said that I assumed that they would do that. Forget it -- I had to join the Geek Squad for $100 and then they did the repair -- on a 1 month old computer that Best Buy sold me. I thought that Best Buy and Geek Squad had acted liked a racket rather than as a merchandiser trying to make good on a bad machine. I now avoid both Best Buy and Geek Squad.
