I echo the reviewer with the deck in 2015. We were also very excited for Eric to perform a bathroom remodel and he was very attentive while we were selecting tile and accessories. Eric gutted our bathroom and built a walk in shower, replaced the floor with a heated tile floor, installed a new toilet, vanity and lighting. In the early stages he seemed to make good progress and the work looked professionally done. Eric estimated the project would take two to three weeks but as we were closing in on finishing up, Eric became distracted and seemed to loose interest in completing our bathroom as he was focusing on a new house flipping project. The end of the work dragged on but we finally considered the project complete even though he left some work poorly finished. A few months later he needed to come back as some floor tile had come loose and the grout lines were cracking in several locations. Eric attempted some cosmetic fixes but really didn't have much of an interest in making proper repairs, possibly because he could tell the entire floor was compromised and knew what he'd have to do to make it right. So now, two years after Eric started our bath remodel we are paying for all of his work to be removed. The new contractor found that Eric had improperly installed the shower floor pan and sloppily installed the plywood underlay, which explained the loud squeaking when someone used the shower. He also used the incorrect thin set with the porcelains tiles so all of the tiles were moving and causing large chunks of grout to pop out from between the tiles. We chose to work with Eric because of his friendly manner and great price, but in the end he cost us thousands of dollars more to rip out and replace his poor workmanship. We thought we were getting a great deal and perhaps a long term remodeling partner, but we can not recommend Eric Taetsch as a contractor.

Things started out very well. Eric is friendly and likable. He gave us a good price for our deck. Eric built our deck last summer 2014. During the process, he uncovered rotted wood in our existing upper deck and communicated well about that. He showed up and did the work at a decent pace. Eric was reasonably responsive up until the deck was about 80% done. The problem came when I simply could not get him to come back and finish it. I called and texted Eric endless times. He kept promising to come by and finish but never did. As fall 2014 came, I texted basically begging him to finish up the deck before winter came. He didn't respond. The baffling this is that there wasn't much to be finished so he easily could have done it. The flat railing ledge on the bottom part of the deck is not complete. Even though there isn't much to finish, it's very visible and looks terrible. All summer (last summer AND this summer) I had guests over and every time I looked at the unfinished parts it made me angry because Eric blew us off at the end and simply would not complete the job. At the end of this summer we now see that there are additional problems - there many boards warping quite badly and the railing is weak. I texted Eric on Monday August 16 2015 letting him know that I was planning to write a review on Angie's List, not to be vindictive but to provide real feedback for others. I wanted to give him a final chance before I did that to come and make things right with our deck. This is how he responded: "I thought we had finished everything. I have only focused on flip houses this summer and have not taken on any other jobs. I'm about 1 mile from you on Tuesday-Thursday. What needed to be finished." He thought we had finished everything? I honestly texted and called him no less than 20 times last summer and he kept telling me he would come and finish it. So him not remembering he had anything left to do was quite alarming. I had to go out of town so I told him to contact my husband. When he did, he told my husband that he had done some work for us that we hadn't paid for and owed him. Wow. He refused to finish our deck, and was actually claiming we owed him money. In reality, we ended things last summer with a $300 credit, so if anything HE owed US. But I was willing to let that go if he would just come and finish my deck. I texted him on 8/24/15 saying: "{My husband} mentioned something about us not paying you for work? We ended things with a $300 credit, so if anything you owe us. If you want to come finish your deck job please set up a time with {my husband} by the end of the week. Otherwise let's just call this quits." He never responded.

Eric did an outstanding job in remodeling our two bathrooms. His work was timely, and worked with us in altering plans as he went to our liking. He is a master craftsman and the entire job went just as quoted / planned. His work included ceramic tile (floors and tub/shower), vanities, granite tops, electrical and sheetrock. Great job, Eric !

Erich totally gutted my small master bathroom; he had laid down paper walkways to prevent dirt and dust settling on the carpets; he removed the old wall material, floor, etc. into his truck/trailer and hauled it off to the landfill. He replaced old electirc wiring and moved light and heat switches for the ceiling light, heater and exhaust system and for the overhead light in the shower. He laid lovely tile on the floor after repairing and replacing the subflooring; after much plumbinh work, he installed a new water-saving commode, a new vanity, and totally redid the shower, whicht is tiled in a lovely design and has something unique: a ledge across the inside wall to hold shampoo, bath gel, etc,, thus eliminating the "over the shower head" carrier. Everyone who has seen it LOVES it! He installed a very practical pocket door to allow more room and left my closet with enough room for everything that had been in it before they needed to take space away for the door. As a finish, he painted the bathroom, as well as the bedroom wall with the closet, a lovely complementary color which reflects a muted color of the tile. This professional performed magic in both bathrooms and I'm thrilled with the results!
