As a member of the Skaneateles Lake Association, Ecoscape Design can specifically help you promote the community's "Clear Lake, Pure Water" initiative through the various sustainable lawn and landscaping services we offer. Here at Ecoscape Design, we understand the important role that sustainable landscaping and lawn care practices can play in keeping our lake clean. We also know that loss of lake water quality over time means tremendous economic impacts to our entire community. Therefore, our sustainable landscaping and lawn care services, including organic fertilizers and integrated pest management, have been designed by our company based on first-hand experience and extensive research conducted by the DEC, the Cornell Cooperative Extension, and other renowned universities. Such practices will be implemented by many lakeside property owners starting this 2019 season. By choosing Ecoscape Design as your landscape and lawn care providers, you can help protect Skaneateles Lake's water quality and all that our lakeside community has to offer, while securing your property investment for years to come. ABOUT THE OWNER: Lyle Somers grew up on a certified, sustainable tree farm on the New York-Vermont border, with summers spent at his family's camp in the Finger Lakes. Raised by a biologist and a forester, Lyle was inspired at a young age to enjoy working hard outdoors to improve the environment. After graduating top ten in his class, Lyle moved to Syracuse to study environmental science and engineering on scholarship at Le Moyne College. During and after college, Lyle worked jobs in private landscaping and in public agency research on invasive species. This fueled his passion for beautifying landscapes while nurturing the natural environment--hence "Ecoscape Design".
