The hinge on my laptop snapped, and I wasn't sure if was able to be repaired. Alan walked me through all of the steps he would need to take to repair it. He attached the hinge back to my screen, and I able to close it again.

Alan was great! He first did a diagnostic to determine if I did have malware. Good news no malware. He the cleaned up my pc, did a tune up and installed new anti virus software. He explained everything up front and called to discuss prior to taking the next step. My computer was ready in 24 hours. I would definitely recommend Detor Computer Services.

I contacted Detor Computer Services after my notebook went dark - literally. I picked Detor because of the high number of 5 star reviews I found on line. The 5 stars are well earned and I concur with those ratings. My notebook was re-opened, all data and program files were migrated to a new hard drive without losing a single byte of anything. A number of programs that were installed by Dell on the notebook are no longer available without an annual paid subscription so beyond saving my files, Alan Detor saved my company annual fees to Microsoft, Adobe and Quick Books in the process. The work was finished the same day and was less expensive than the original estimate Alan provided. Detor is the Computer support vendor for K.L. Kane Consulting, LLC going forward.

Alan was very professional, great service and quick to respond during this time of lock down. I had my computer back in under a week. I was very pleased. I will use Detor Services again if I have a problem with my computer.

Alan was professional and courteous. He took time to talk with me at length on the phone about my situation. Based on my conversation with him and the positive reviews I read, I felt he had my best interest in mind and that I could trust him to do whatever was necessary to service my computer for a fair price. After I dropped off my PC, he texted me with an estimate of the repairs to get my approval. He also recommended antivirus software which I had him install. I was hoping not to have to spend so much to service my PC, but I felt that the price was fair for the work performed. It also includes the price of the software ($50). My PC is running much better now. The software that was crashing is now working well, and I have the peace of mind of knowing the antivirus software is doing its job without compromising the PC's speed. I am hoping to get another couple of years out of this PC. Thanks Alan!

I had been putting off repairs to my HP laptop for months but things slowly got worse; most importantly, I could not download my required MS updates nor could I run Systems Restore. Googled for someone local; found A. Detor in Eastwood. Found him also on Angie's List. Sent email with list of problems and Alan called me within few hours. Made arrangements to deliver laptop with a third-party. Everything went most expeditiously and at a fair price. Alan explained the whats and whys of the repairs without a lot of technobabble. I LOVE working on my cleaned-up laptop and would use DeTor's services in the future with no reservations. Highly recommend.

My son is a freshman at Syracuse and needed to have some work done on his lap top. He needed the work done fast as he uses his computer for everything. It is so difficult to know who to trust when you move to a new area. He found Alan at Detor and they went above and beyond to help him so he could get back to focusing on school.

I checked Angie?s List for two or three computer repair companies and so glad we selected Detor. Alan was exceptional, professional and prompt. When he indicated times for free pick up (within 10 miles) or return computers, he was there. He answered questions, recommended solutions, his expertise is well above my expectations; I am no computer whiz, far from it. Both computers are fast now and appear to be operating the way they should, probably better than when I first got them. I am planning to sign up for their ?Monthly Care? program (MCS) for our desk top.

Detor Computers was able to remote in and repair my computer explaining and asking for permissions as he proceeded. I was able to continue with my business operations, phone calls etc and did not step out into the cold!.....try them I am sure you will like them! It went great!

I was trying to help a college student get ready for her fall semester. I was hesitant to spend money and I had no idea if the laptop in question needed to be replaced or could be repaired. I found Detor Computer via Angie's list by requesting a five mile range from my house (it is about 2 miles from my house) and I was grateful to read good reviews. Alan was immediately available, he discussed the possibility of buying a reconditioned laptop if the old one couldn't be repaired, he discussed prices for tasks he could perform in analyzing/repairing the damaged one, he notified me quickly as he explored the problems, he offered an appropriate virus control program, and he promptly acquired and installed the new LED screen. I was amazed with the speed of his work and absolutely delighted with my comfort in trusting him as both a technician and a business person. He also offers the service of notifying when the virus control program expires and he is able to renew it from his office. Alan is an ideal resource for a person who has little knowledge of what could be needed with a computer, and I'm sure that knowledgeable people would also appreciate his skill, personality, and dependability. I will always think of Alan first when I encounter any difficulty with a computer.

I contacted Alan when I was having persistent problems with my keyboard. He was very prompt and professional. After discussing the situation, he told me that he could replace the keyboard, and let me know how much it would cost. My laptop is a key part of my work, so I was delighted that he was able to take care of this quickly. After dropping it off one day, I got it back the very next day working just great. As someone in the business, I occasionally replace computer parts myself. But when I have anything serious to do, I have Alan do it. His knowledge is very wide, and he's very friendly, too. I would definitely recommend his services!
