The process and the move went very well. Art Delaney, and his assistant Cheryl, displayed customer service equal to none. They were fabulous. Art gave us terrific advice on the packing tasks. The only drawback from not giving an overall "A" mark was Art's estimate of the overall weight. He increased the estimated weight from the initial to the final estimate, but the final weight came in even below the initial estimate. This is a significant part of the cost. Yes a $14 per hundred weight allowance was given but this is way too small for the weight estimate error. Should be closer to $60.

My realtor's office had recommended this company & reached out to this company for me because I had indicated I was looking for moving companies. I received an email from someone initially on 11/7 claiming he had left me a voicemail (which he hadn't) and asking for the best way to contact me to schedule an appointment to come look at what I had. I emailed him back the next morning and gave him my personal number and told him that was the best way to contact me. It has been over 2 weeks and I never heard from him again. I guess they don't need the business. I have also informed my realtor of this since they were using this company as recommendations to their clients. Probably not a good idea to recommend a company that won't return calls.

They provide a great experience. The workers were very polite and the owner even showed up to check everything ahead of time. I can't begin to tell you how careful they were. Everything was placed exactly to my specification, and they even went above and beyond since that is something I wasn't expecting. They even did reassembled some of our furniture. Everything was wrapped and I was really grateful with the care they provided.

It was a cold rainy day when the two young men arrived. They carried the the loveseat onto my porch from which they entered my living room without making any effort to place any protective covering over their muddy work boots. As a result they tracked mud onto my almost new living room rug. When I pointed this out, I was told "Sorry, but you should have said something." (As they were entering I was involved in keeping my three toddler grandsons whom I was babysitting that day away from the doorway and out of harm.) These young people work for a professional moving company and should have known better. And, when I asked one of them for the phone number of the moving company so that I could contact the owner, he would not provide it-- Instead he kept insisting I was to blame for apparently failing to inform them that I'd prefer they don't track mud in. Finally I had to tell them to leave. I later accessed the number and contacted the moving company but this matter was not resolved to my satisfaction. I was basically told that they were sorry. Afterward I spent the better part of the next hour shampooing the stained section of my rug.

See above. Things went well from the visit by the estimator, with clear info about how it would go and what would be involved.

Pickup occurred as scheduled. Driver was very careful to ensure each item was numbered/inventoried and I knew where it was numbered. We reviewed the assessment of any existing damage and the the furniture was wrapped and placed on the truck. I was given a 2week window for delivery in VA ... Delivery occurred on last day of the 2weeks. On arrival, I used my copy on the loading inventory to verify each piece as it arrived and check for any new damage. Everything arrived in exactly the same condition in which it left NY.

The packing was horrendous. The barrels were not marked correctly. The lamps were dissembled and packed in different boxes, so it was hard to find where everything was when we were unpacking. The loading on the truck was not organized. They loaded some things that they weren't supposed to but they couldn't find it. There were some things I wanted to take with me, but they packed up some of that stuff anyway. They were very unorganized and didn't follow instructions very well.

I would rate them an 'A' across the board. They have moved us at least five times, within the last twenty-five years.

All boxes to be moved, were packed by us prior to the movers coming. There were many unpacked items which we were going to take care of after the movers left. During loading of truck, I discovered that a backpack was missing. I questioned the men loading the truck, and was told by one of them that he put it with the Lazy Boy chair, which was in the front of the truck, with many boxes behind it. I believed him. After the movers left, I also discovered the a wireless router and a pair of boots were missing. Since I was told that the backpack had been loaded on the truck, even though it wasn't in a box, I assumed the same for the router and boots. Upon arriving at new location, over 1000 miles away, the backpack, router and boots were not found. The driver contacted his supervisor prior to leaving our new home. The supervisor felt we had to unpack all the boxes we had packed before movers arrived at our old house. When he was contacted a second time he told me that all of the men were honest long time employees. This was not true. One of the employees had been with the Delaney less than a week. Juleen Delaney, owner of the company, then took over follow up of this problem. She has questioned the employees involved. They all deny taking the items. I would have been extremely surprised, if the person that stole these items admitted it. The company has refused to compensate me for my loss. They don't believe me, even though I offered to take a lie detector test, and pay for it myself if I failed. I have never received a satisfactory answer to the question why was I told the backpack was in the Lazy Boy, when in fact it wasn't. A police report has been filed. I have not been compensated for the stolen items.
