Everything seemed fine at first. They came when they said they would, they had enough men on the job to get it done quickly, and they did a good job of cleaning up. However, because the level of the roof had now dropped, since they removed many layers of roofing, they left a considerable gap between the new roof and the siding on the dormers. While up there doing pretty complicated work, they didn't bother to do the simple job of filling in the gaps. Bear in mind, this is so far up that I cannot see it, so I couldn't notice it and point it out while they were here. So we ended up with squirrels in the ceiling of our attic. I asked Mr. DeCarr to come fix that, so he came and stuck in some metal pieces that did nothing - there was still space all around them for the squirrels to come in. When I told him that hadn't worked, he told me that really fixing it would cost $600! Horrified, I looked around for another roofer to do this job. Just try getting a roofer to do a small job in the middle of the summer when there are much bigger fish to fry. The brood of squirrels got larger as I phoned, waited, got stood up or ignored, and phoned again to one after another roofer. Finally I found a contractor willing to go up there and take a look. After months of listening to those squirrels eat away at my house, this fine gentleman went up there, found the holes, came up with creative solutions to fix them, and solved the problem for $100 on a day when the squirrels were outside. Now the squirrels can't get back in and I'm scratching my head wondering why a professional roofer who had just made thousands off me would try to rip me off for $600. Oh, and I have to hire someone to fix the ceilings that the squirrels ate through (see pictures).
Description of Work: They did a complete tear-off roofing job on a 3-story house that has two attic dormers. This included installing a new ridge vent. It was an expensive job that required roofing professionals and they did a fine job except for one final piece.
