I believe Cooney provides good service. However, I also believe they find ways to enhance there cost. How, by making a service call two hours when it could have been one hour. They need to go get a part that they should have with them. They charge for travel time that is questionable. I will continue to use them because I have a ten year parts guarantee until 2015. After that I will shop around.

I was very impressed with Cooney. My furnace died on Christmas morning so I woke up to a very cold house. I wasn't sure if I could get repair since it was Christmas but called Cooney and they had a repair person at my house within an hour! He did what he could for me for the day but ultimately I needed a new furnace. Since it was Christmas I couldn't get a furnace that day (obviously) but the sales person Ron called me first thing the day after and once I picked out which furnace I wanted they had someone at my house that afternoon to begin installation. It was a 1 1/2 day install and the two guys (Cooper and Anthony) that were here were great! Very professional and very friendly. They kept me informed of when they were going to do things that would impact my animals and warned me ahead of time of things about to happen so I could get my animals out of the house for their safety. Once finished, they even tried to help my neighbor and I catch a stray dog running loose in the neighborhood. I was told my Wi-Fi thermostat would take about a month or so for the new thermostat to arrive and it took less than that. Overall I was incredibly impressed with Cooney and would definitely recommend them to anyone for both emergency service, maintenance or new installs.

Installer arrived on time. To replace the old water heater with a new one took 2 hours which I thought was a respectable time. About an hour after he left, I turned on the hot water at the faucet and it was hot. I then checked the hot water heater just to see if everything looked OK. I noticed some water droplets coming off the hot water tubing. This issue was the reason the old heater started to rust. So I called up the office. They contacted the installer and he arrived about an hour later. It took him another half hour to replace the tubing and make sure that it wasn't leaking. It has not been a few days since the heater was installed and I haven't noticed any leaks. The guy who installed the unit must have apologized 5 or 6 times before he left and I certainly understand that mistakes happen, but this really should have been caught before he left the first time. As a P.S., after he left the second time, I noticed that my house was getting cold. Seems like he forgot to turn the heater back on after he shut off the gas so he could install the water heater. Again, no big thing because I knew how to turn it back on; but if I hadn't know how to do that, it would have cost me to have the heater guy come out and turn it back on.

My wife and I recently purchased a home in the Syracuse area and were aware that the heating system needed to be replaced. Since we live in Houston, Texas, we felt this must be our first priority. We checked Angie’s List and based on the reviews selected Cooney Air Condition and Heating. Prior to travelling to Syracuse I spoke with Ron Stevens at Cooney to review the options. Ron was very helpful and provided a “ballpark” estimate based on the information available. We met Ron late October for an on-site inspection of the existing heating system and again the following afternoon at the Cooney office to review his proposal. We approved his recommendations and agreed on the start date. The installation both started and completed on schedule and the basement was left in immaculate condition. The final cost was exactly as quoted with the exception of the upgraded Internet connected Thermostats I requested. The people at Cooney are professionals who know their business, which is comforting when you’re 2000 miles away. I would also like to compliment Rob, the installer; he is an artist with copper tubing!

Furnace check before sale of house.

The project was completed as proposed, from initial evaluation/product recommendation to removal of old system/ductwork, installation of new system/ductwork and final clean-up. The Cooney crew delivered what was promised, and completed the work on time, within budget and in a friendly, professional manner.

I wasn't really satisfied because they did some repairs on some electrical wires out there and this year somebody else had to come because they didn't have them covered correctly. We almost had a fire. I'm not satisfied on the quality of work so I wouldn't call them again.

Good installation with personable staff.

They responded promptly to our problem. The installers were neat and very professional.

Cooney was not selected as the vendor of choice to perform the work. Another company provided better financing terms. I was happy with Ron's professionalism and the time he took to explain his Company's products and features. He also pointed out a few items with existing duct work that needed adjustment and included it in his estimate.

The install four years ago was FANTASTIC!! From the est to the install, even the season check ups. Until this year. We had a major issue with the service dispatch. Be WARNED, that if you din't answer the phone when they call to say they are on their way, you will be automatically re-scheduled! In our case, the driver never said that they expect a RETURN PHONECALL. All that was left was and quot;...I will be there in 6 min. Thanks'. No one showed in those and quot;6and quot; minutes. But in received another call with message saying I wasn't home and should call back to schedule service again. Now the reason they got the machine the first time, I was, well, in disposed at the time. After hearing the message, I went outside with my dog to wait for the msn who said he would be there in 6 minutes. Therefore did not hear the phone. When I called, after the second message, I was very unhappy with how the dispatcher treated me; very disrespectful. After much arguing, a service man was sent. The service thereafter was fine. We will use them again only because our service contract for the AC is with them. I now know to do nothing but sit by the phone during the three hour arrival window and wait for their call.

Installed ducts along with inflows and outflows in attic crawlspace of split ranch house along with exterior condenser and temperature sensor.

Ron, Brian and Lenny were all very professional and knowledgeable. They were very careful of your home and cleaned up after themselves. Took the time to explain the system and completed the work in less time than was estimated.

What can I say? Overall it was a great service call.

My furnace stopped working the night prior to my call to Cooney Air Conditioning and Heating. I checked ANGIE'S LIST hoping to find someone who was not going to rip me off and came across this and quot;Aand quot; rated company. I called the next morning, got an appointment for that afternoon and was pleased to receive a bill hundreds less than I originally planned. Apparently what I thought was a major problem, turned out to be something minor but still a part needed to be replaced ASAP. A written estimate was mailed to me within the time specified by the tech and now, all I have to do is schedule to have my part replaced!heck

My tenant/goddaughter's furnace had stopped working about 4 weeks previously. I wanted her to take the responsibility of calling and arranging service and she postponed doing so until a Wed. Cooney said that they could come on Thursday, that the furnace needed replacement, and that they could do the work on Friday. I was very uncomfortable about the price which they quoted, but, given good reviews from both Angie's List and a friend, rather than shop around for a better price, I had Cooney go ahead and do the work immediately. I could possibly have felt fine about the price if I had taken the time to call other companies to compare, but I didn't want to do that and have the house without heat for another several days. The repairman who came to assess the situation was delightful, my contact with the receptionist was delightful, and my contact with the business owner was businesslike. It is difficult to judge the price because I didn't know much and my back and forth with the owner was stressed by my efforts to lower the price and his efforts to make what he said was a fair amount. Again, very possibly the price was totally fair and appropriate. Cooney arranged for a reduction in price because apparently that Carrier furnace was known to be poor; I appreciated that aspect of the service. I may now research the price in order to be sure that I'll be happy with Cooney in the future.

They are fantastic. They are absolutely fabulous. They gave us options and we chose the high end for efficiency. They call you back right away. They are on time and very professional. They do what they tell you they are going to do. They are very clean. Even now, if we have a problem they are right on top of it.

Cooneys was very professional. When they came to the house, the put booties over their shoes so our carpet wouldn't get marked up. They were very thorough in explaining which system they chose would be best for us, which ended up being the 2 1/2 ton unit. We did have an issue with the original system that was installed, as it was not cooling the house like it should be. They were very prompt in coming back out to the house. The used a dye system to locate the leak. When the leak was located, they purchased us a brand new system and installed that very quickly.

We woke up to no heat....we managed to get the 25 year old furance going and then called Cooney. They came to the house and looked over the system....explained everything. The 2 men who did the work were excellent!!! Very neat, polite and knowledgeable......and always on time....never took a coffee break or wasted time talking. This was not an easy job.......we have no basement and the furance is in the attic and crawl space.

They were punctual and professional throughout the quote and preliminary phases.

They have come twice to do the inspection.

I contacted Cooney A/C and Heating on 2/27/2013 as my furnace blower was making a lot of noise. I had believed it may only need a few new parts, but as it turns out, the entire furnace needed to be replaced as the Heat Exchanger had rotted and had holes which may have eventually caused Carbon Monoxide to leak. At this point my furnace could no longer be turned on, so we were completely without heat. The service tech called and arranged for Jeffrey VanBuren to come to my home and assess my needs for a new furnace and provide an estimate. He arrived within about an hour. He was friendly and knowledgeable, took some heat loss measurements and left to run some estimates at the shop. He returned about 6pm that evening to my home with estimates, one of which I accepted. Jeff then left to attend to another appointment and returned at approximately 9pm with several space heaters we could use until the new unit was up and running. He arranged for installation the following day, and the crew actually was able to arrive sooner in the day than I had been originally promised (morning as opposed to mid-afternoon). The crew that showed up was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and answered all questions I had. The crew placed carpets throughout my home where they would be walking, and cleaned up afterward. The clean-up was so good in fact, that it would be hard to know anyone was there. I would definitely recommend this business to anyone, and would use them again.

Both men were extremely courteous at all times. They put down work mats from the garage entry to the basement entry. Each day, they cleaned up what they had removed, etc so didn't know any work actually going on. Whenever I had questions, which I did, they always answered me and explained why they were doing what they were doing. For example, when I asked about the venting to the outside from the new furnace, they explained in terms that I quickly understood and suggested that I look at the venting pipes outside, which I did. Both Lenny and Scott were friendly at all times, which made the 3 day job go by quickly. When I was asked about the opening in the back of flue(think that is right term) that faced the opening into the crawl space under familyroom, I didn't want it left open and they made sure it was closed off. They marked, with permanent marker, each and every duct so that I would know, as well as a future owner of our house, to what room each duct went. I was instructed how to control the vents by turning levers. When Scott was finishing the duct labeling, I realized that we hadn't found the duct to our 2nd floor main bathroom. Both men and I started searching and found it on an inside wall, adjacent to the stairways. Lenny and Scott found that there was a nail through the duct, which they fixed, and that the duct wasn't properly attached- they fixed this quickly. Lenny suggested that I put some insulation around the perimeter of our basement game room and I now have done that. They offered to go get the 3 ceiling heating vents in the basement but I told them that I would do it and I have, making it easier to control basement heat. When they were done, they went through the furnace operation with me. From start to finish, I saw the professionalism of both Lenny and Scott. I have told Ron Stevens, Systems Specialist for Cooney, that I don't want anyone else doing this type work in my house but Lenny and Scott. I will definitely recommend Cooney A/C and Heating to others.

Dave was excellent! He examined and cleaned everything and even took the time to explain AND write down information about how to care for the pre-filters and electrostatic filters. He also discovered that the outlet for the pump was only hot when the furnace was running. Our type of furnace should have electricity to it at all times and he fixed that for us! We had no idea! No one had ever found this before! I will ask for him specifically next time I call Cooney!
