They had put in a bay window 2 years ago. One of the window panels was not working properly and they came and fixed it. I was not happy with the price of the repair. Even the person who was fixing it kept asking if they were really charging me for it. He was there about 2 minutes. The window they put in was gorgeous, though. When they put it in, they came, they did the work. They did it well, and quickly. I was happy when they put it in. I would use them again.

I had very good experience with them. You are on tip toes with those guys. You don’t know whether you are going to get someone good or bad. I guess I had pretty good experience with them. It depends on whom you get to do the work for you. I will use them in the future.

These were the 5 windows left to be replaced in my home. Comfort Windows had replaced the bulk of my windows during two prior contracts and these were the ones left. Had 3 separate installations because this is what I could afford at the various times. I like that the windows are custom-made-to-order locally and that several grades of windows are available to chose from. Style is individualized and the customer has many options as to the look of the new window. Would recommend without reservations.

They were reliable, but their quote was higher than the one we got from the other company we had contacted. They were very nice windows too. We haven't decided yet if we are going to go with them. I don't remember the quote. The life time guarantee was what stood out to me about the company. It covered any problem with the windows and the screens. We had some Comfort windows so we knew they were good windows. My husband has two homes. He owns another house that he rents out. We were getting a price on the second home. We know that they are very good windows. We knew somebody that worked with him so he sent us a fellow that he said was very good and very young. He seemed good and honest. They are local and you have the guarantee if anything goes wrong. Even if a screen got a hole in it, they would come and change off the screen. They are the types you can clean easily. You can remove them and clean both sides, especially the windows.

They did a good job. They were here for one day. They were punctual and their prices were good. The quality of the windows seemed to be good. They had the highest quality and the lowest quality. Their windows are made for the climate. If there is any problem you can call them back. They did a good job and they cleaned up. I would go back to them.

The work took a little longer than expected esp. with the holiday weekend. They were prompt daily and cleaned up when the job was finished. They left me some bulbs for the recessed lights and some tiles for the ceiling if one was damaged. I definitely would hire them again. Another thing the company does is to give you the names of the workers so you know exactly who to expect at your door.
Description of Work: They put waterproof sheetrock on metal ceiling to floor grids over existing sheets of insulation on the cellar walls.......the pink fuzz was being pulled out by my cats and in another area was falling off the wall. They boxed in the electrical, cable etc. panels and finished with magnetic catches on the double doors. Double doors with the magnetic catches were put over the entrance to the crawl space where the cats were also attacking the pink insulation. A door was installed between the cellar area and rec room. In the rec room a drop ceiling with recessed lights was installed and the lights were put on a dimmer switch. A vent for heat and AC was added as was a cold air return box. A light for the cellar area was installed next to the new door. The pipes etc. were boxed in and finished nicely.

Overall our experience with Comfort Windows was excellent. We just moved into our home in December knowing we wanted to have the windows and doors replaced because they were all 45 years old, and not energy efficient at all. The salesman came to our home to give us an estimate for the doors and windows, and at the same time advise us of possible tax incentives and rebates available to us. Being first time home owners the options and prices were a little overwhelming, but knowing Comfort Windows reputation and having received recommendations for people who have used them prior we went forward without looking for competing estimates. When buying windows and doors from Comfort, it takes 4-6 weeks for them to build the windows to spec but we knew that going into this evolution. The next step in the process was to have a home energy audit, which is free, but is necessary to receive any kind of tax incentive or rebate. Knowing our home was old, we expected the worse, so we were not surprised that we needed additional insulation in our attic, and that we had some massive air leaks through the existing doors and windows. 2 men were sent out to insulate our attic and seal the air leaks in the basement, and they were efficient and more importantly they worked clean. That night we could already feel the difference in our house from just these 2 things, which we found amazing. This week they came and installed 10 windows, a sliding glass door, and 2 exterior doors in 3 days. Again the workers were quick, clean, professional and very accommodating. At the end of each day I went around and looked for issues with the install and I brought them up to the lead installer when they arrived the next day, and everything was addressed before they finished. There was one issue that they were not able to fix during the install, but Comfort sent out a supervisor and a worker the next day shortly after I called them about it, to look at the issue and repair it. The final step in this evolution is to have them come out and do an after home energy audit so we will be able to get a rebate for all the money we spent. The new windows and doors have made our house feel like new. The furnace kicks on much less frequently, the house is quieter from outside noise. My wife and I could not be happier with our new windows and doors, and our experience with Comfort Windows, and are planning to use them again in the near future.
Description of Work: Comfort Windows did a number of projects for us. They replaced all the original windows, replaced both exterior doors and the sliding glass door, performed a home energy audit, insulated the attic, and sealed the air leaks in the basement.

This is the second time we used this company. Previously had two very large, slider windows installed. Two workers arrived on time. Replaced both window and door efficiently. Had to do a lot of work on the back door, inside and out. For this installation, we had complained to the person sent out to do the measurements that we were unhappy with the selection of aluminum trim colors that we had to choose from the first time we used them. He said they could get the same aluminum we had in other areas of the house--wish we had been told that for the first order--and they did get the color aluminum trim we wanted. The work took most of the day. Their prices are not low-end, but they do all the ancillary work and don't just pop in the windows/doors and leave. We are happy with the sales person, the products we purchased and the work done. Also, we are very happy that even though they were busy and we ordered late in the year, they installed before the end of 2010 to meet the energy rebate requirements and beat the record-breaking December snows by a day!

They started the job on Monday, two man team did the basement box sills and sealed the crawl space, then started in attic by sealing any heat loss areas. Day 2 they started the wall insulation, I had to go to work so couldn't stay the whole time. When I got home I saw that one of my return air ducts had been filled with insulation. I have a ranch built in '49 and the cold air returns are not actual ducts, but they used the floor joists and just tacked tin over them in basement. In the one room there was no wood over the vent so the insulation was blown into return. I was p***** but they made up for it the next day by removing the vent and cleaning it out, even going into basement to remove the tin and vacuumed out the entire return to get the insulation out. Then they screwed a piece of foam board to the top of vent, sealed it, and refilled the section, They also went to all the other returns and sealed them from the inside before continuing. BJ, the apparent senior installer, wasn't there on Tuesday as he had some training to go to, but he didn't seem real surprised as if he'd seen it before. They finished the outside on Wednesday and then did the loose fill in attic on Thursday with no other incidents. BJ seemed concerned the crawl space wasn't to my liking, and actually redid it making sure Iwas happy wit the look and quality of work. I have already noticed a difference in the 'feel' of my house. It's quieter and the heater doesnt appear to cycle as much. Of course it hasn't been that cold yet so time will tell how much difference it makes on my heating/cooling bill. They cleaned up nice, had a professional attitude, and had a good work ethic. I would recommend Comfort to anyone for insulation

The salesperson was prompt; helped us decide on a design for the windows that would complement the house; took the time to cover all the benefits of the windows, the tax rebate. Took special care to get a seasoned estimator out to the house, as our installation was a little unusual, since it was part of a DIY renovation and much of the interior of the room would be demolished by the time the windows were to be installed. Since the window installation needed to be completed before the rebuilding phase of our DIY kitchen remodel, we were disappointed that it took all of the 8 weeks they estimated to schedule the window installation-the installation was on the very last day of the 8 weeks. (There was hope given to us that there might be a 6 week turnaround.) The crew arrived on time and went right to work. They did good installation work and although it took the entire day, they took care at the end of the day with the final work of wrapping the trim and installing new cedar shakes around the window. The crew seemed efficient, cleaned up well, were pleasant, and took the time to show us how the windows functioned and to tour the interior and exterior of their work with them. We were disappointed that they didn't have the same color aluminum as we have on a few other windows and our gutters. We thought that the color would be close, but Harbor Blue, wasn't blue at all, but gray--the caulk they used was more blue than the aluminum! (We did double check with the crew, and they were indeed using Harbor Blue.) We painted the trim right away with paint that matched our other aluminum trim and it looks fine, although we wished we didn't have to do that. The windows operate well, the windows look great (grids on the sliding end panels are really a nice touch; and on the hot days of August 2010, the windows kept out the heat very well--and we don't have air conditioning!
Description of Work: Installation of 2 large slider windows (two sliding panels and one fixed middle panel) in place of old 1920's windows. One window replaced two double hung windows and the other replaced 4 casement windows. New openings needed to be framed and the original framing was not used. Aluminum was wrapped around exterior trim. No work was done on the interior, since the windows were installed as part of a DIY full room remodel; so as owners we chose to install the jambs and interior trim ourselves.

I had gone to their showroom to look at the types of replacement windows available and they invited me to go to their factory and see them being made. I was so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship that I placed an order for my house. They sent a rep out to discuss the products available for each window in my house and gave me several options. The rep was very diligent in explaining that possibly my window air conditioners would not fit in the new windows because the openings were smaller with the replacement windows. He measured my air conditioners for me and decided that I should not have a problem using any of them. All of my windows were measured and the order placed. Approximately 8 weeks later my windows were installed by the 2 crews they sent. They were professional, did a great job on installing them and cleaned up. They caulked all the windows for me and gave me tips on how to install the full-sized screens and operate the tilt-in windows. My screens came with a great warranty and I had to have them replace the screen in one because my can clawed it. I took the screen to them and a few days later I had it back...good as new. I'm sure I could have gotten windows cheaper but I doubt if I would have the quality I got from Comfort Windows. My utility bill dropped that winter.
Description of Work: I had replacement windows installed in my entire house. These included a bow window too. I also had full screens made vs the usual half screens that you slide up and down as needed.

The sales person did not take the time to explain the materials, construction, and glass qualities. I asked they use white trim, but they used oak, so we either have to stain or paint it. I asked for the diamond inserts and they are the wrong size. The work crew was tidy and did a good job. My husband had to help them install the window from inside which was not a big deal, but not appropriate for the customer.

Comfort was recommended by a friend, after getting quotes and reviewing warranty information from 3 other dealers, I decided to go with Comfort. Showroom was nice and sales person explained manufacturing process, these windows are custom-made-to-order locally and that was important to my decision. Met with Comfort reps at home x2 and app. to install was approx. 1mo afterward. They had 0% financing available at the time with 1/4 down and this worked well for my budget. I am very happy with the quality of the windows and the professional installation. I was concerned that my window trim would lose its character if wrapped with the aluminum, Comfort was able to contour the trim to the exact shape of what was there prior and my home lost none of its personality. Very pleased with my experience and highly recommend.
