C&S Paving & Construction Inc

Based on our experience with C&S Paving, we would strongly recommend avoiding this company. The owner, Bob Seymour, assured us that he had been in business for a long time and would stand behind his work. Well that was the furthest thing from the truth. In 2010 C&S dug out our old driveway and laid stone, paving cloth, and a new base coat. At the time we expressed concern that there was insufficient stone, as the cloth could be seen through the stone. Mr. Seymour assured us all was ok. The next year he applied the top coat, and we experienced some scuffing of that top coat. He assured us that it would stop once it had a chance to set and was sealed. The following spring we had the driveway sealed, and the scuffing continued. In fact it got a lot worse, and a 3 foot crack developed in the driveway. We contacted Mr. Seymour in July requesting the problems be fixed. He hesitated, hid behind several excuses, and wasted time until it was too late in the fall. Every time we called him he never returned a call, we had to hope he would answer. The following spring we tried for a month to reach him, but he never responded. We contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint, after we noticed he had received BBB accreditation that spring. It took the BBB over a month to get a response out of Mr. Seymour, in which he stated he was surprised about the complaint because he always responded to our calls. He made the same old excuses and offered to patch a few areas. We rebutted all of his excuses and refused the offer because the scuffing was occurring all over the driveway and patching would not fix it. The BBB sent our response to Mr. Seymour and suggested we submit to arbitration. We agreed to that, but the BBB never heard from him again. The BBB revoked his accreditation. We are now stuck with an inferior driveway and will have to go to court to try to get it addressed.
