AFFORDABLE WINDOWS

Installation was ok. I've just had poor communication over the years to try and resolve the ice build up on the inside of my windows over the years, plus all the seals on the windows rotted out and couldn't get that fixed and for sometime have had a broken inner window pain and have been losing lots of heat in my room since. I call and leave messages over time with little to no responses so now I have a broken leaky window unit that needs to be replaced. Very sad customer service.

They did return my $100 and are good workers

We ordered the window June 26, 2015 and were told 4 weeks for delivery. As my husband was in the process of remodeling our kitchen and waiting on the back splash tile, the timing was perfect. After phone calls to the owner of Affordable Windows, who was so put out by my phone calls on... July 30th... August 10th... and August 19th, we were called on August 24th to install the window..... like that day!!! There was no call to set up an appointment for installation just hope you're home.....What the h ??. So 4 weeks became about 8 weeks and no big deal to them. We were at a stand still to install the tile without that window. I did explain this to the owner and he could have cared less. In hindsight my husband should have installed the window too. During installation the 2 installers hit the ceiling and 2 parts of the wall that had to be skim coated, sanded and repainted, okay not that big of a deal. After screwing the window to the frame they never caulked over the screws. they nicked the frame in 3 places which also could have been covered with caulk. On the exterior of the window, the trim does not even line up together.. They were the Mickey Mouse Club. I have to say having never seen a window installation I didn't really know all that was wrong at the time. When my husband came home from work and saw this installation he was furious. Then after peeling the window sticker off (which the installers should have done) the window had a 3 inch scratch. We didn't call the owner, we knew there was no point. We are just one of the many customer who will never use them again. We have many other windows that need to be replaced but I will be on Angie's list now, checking everyone out..

I have never had to deal with such a crappy company in my life! I had 8 new replacement windows installed in 2007. I had 1 of the windows just up and break out of the blue as I was sitting watching TV. I called them in February 2013 when this happened to see if it was under warranty. Nope...ok, so I have to pay $50 to get it fixed. No problem. Next issue is that they never put the aluminum trim on the windows they installed.....and were paid for as it was included in the price they gave me. I called numerous times and the woman on the phone was an absolutely miserable nasty witch! During 1 phone call she actually said to me "Well what do you want us to do about it!?" I replied, "How about finishing a job that you never finished!" Finally Bob came out and inspected the windows and even said he couldn't understand why the guys didn't finish the job. He was going to order the replacement for the broken window when he went back to the shop. He also said that the price had most likely increased on the trim and he would have to research it and I would have to pay the difference. Bullsh*t!! They breached the contract by not completing the job and I'm not paying a dime more for that. I called again in February 2014 to see if the replacement piece was in and was told it hadn't been ordered yet. Are you serious????!!!!! Was assured they would order it that day. Had to call back again to see if it was in yet. Yes they had it sitting there for almost 2 weeks and it was up to the service department to contact me to set up a time for the installation of it. Haven't heard from them yet and in the meantime I've noticed 4 of the windows have moisture between the panes of glass. The air blows through them in the winter and I have to still use plastic on the windows to keep the cold out. This company is a rip-off. Don't waste your time or money on them. My next step is the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General. I've freakin had it!

We did not like their service. They were okay until there was a problem, but then their service kind of fell apart. They were supposed to deliver the windows at the same time. They called and said all the windows were in, showed up, but only had windows for one residence. They had to redo one window because it was done incorrectly. There were a few errors. We had set aside a few days to be here when they did it, but it kind of dragged on. The price of the service was okay.

I ordered 8 windows and have had previous dealings with this company before. The installers smoke on while working, pants fall down in the back exposing way more than I need to see etc. My biggest disappointment is in a few different areas. 1) I have purchased at least 25 windows (in the same year) from this company and received absolutely no consideration on a price break. 2) when the windows finally arrived (it took 5 months) they were the wrong size and they wanted me to take them and they would piece them in. If I wanted a botched job, I could have done it myself. I had to wait another 5 months for the correct windows to come in. 3) they call with no notice - they call in the morning and want to install them that day. 4) Sales rep was running late (not the first time) has no idea of time management. Will I be using them again? - No.

As stated, Eric (sales rep) came by a couple of times for quotes and contract signing. Nice guy - a bit disorganized though regarding his information available for window options. And he didn't have samples. But I've had numerous companies quote me on windows, and being a former carpenter, I know there's only so many components to a window. So we went with them. Another guy (can't remember his name) came by a few days after signing the contract to measure the framing for the windows. It only took about 4 weeks from signing the contract to get a call asking for an appt for installation. The 2 installers came over on 11/1 and did a good job. They put drop cloths through their pathway in the house to the bedrooms in question, put up plastic, cleaned up when they were done, etc. Nice guys - offered up tips and explanations of what they were doing, were courteous the whole time. I was slightly disappointed in the size of the windows (meaning the viewable glass area in ratio to the framing), but can't fault them completely on that because I should've A. expected some sort of it for replacement windows that are "pop-ins" to the existing framing, and B. I should've demanded to see samples of the windows before signing. But overall, a good experience and am happy there are no more drafts in those rooms.

When I called for information about getting a new window, they were friendly and set up an appointment to have someone come out to give me an estimate. The gentleman that came out was very nice and he made everything very fast and easy. He said they had to custom order a window and they would call me when it came in. About one month had gone by and I still hadn't heard anything, and I don't like the fact that you were left hanging for that long not hearing from them. When the window came in, a different person called and set up an appointment to come and install the window. I was not home that day, however there were 2 people waiting at my house the whole day for them. I got a phone call asking where the house was, and then another call saying the guys had to leave because they can't wait around all day. That infuriated me because there were people home, and when I called I found out it was due to the error of his employees not getting my home number. So I was left a rude message because they didn't get my home number which I thought was ridiculous. That is no way to treat a customer. We scheduled another appointment and again, I was working so someone else was at my house and I was told they were professional and very polite men. The only negative I had was with one person on a few occasions, otherwise they did a great job with the window. Another thing is I wanted to send a tip to the two men that had put the window in but I was told because she didn't know who did it, I should send in a check for the amount I wanted to give, and either leave the "Pay to the order of" blank or make it out to Affordable Windows instead of the men. I think they should have found out the names. I can't send money like that, I don't feel comfortable doing it that way. Overall, I would recommend Affordable Windows, just be careful with the person on the other end of the phone (not sure if I can mention the name), but he was not a people person!

Affordable Windows is very professional. They installed 10 windows for me in 2009. Right away, I started saving money, as shown on my utility bill. The windows are of good quality. They remove easily for cleaning. Very pleased with their service. In fact, just ordered 12 more.

I will use them again in the future.

The instillation was efficient, very clean and courteous. The windows are great.

Everything went well, though it was the middle of winter. They got those windows in and out in no time, but I watched and they did not cut corners.

Their price was a little high and I was a little concerned that the warranty was with the people who make the windows rather than with the people who install. It took a little bit of a long distance guarantee. I like that another company I know of makes their own windows and the installer is working for the maker. The sample of their product looked good, but their price was a little high and I was a little concerned about the way the warranty was written. I was satisfied with my experience with them and tempted to go with them, but went with another company.

Very professional, no hard-sell approach at all.
