Had equipment installed in June 2012. Install went fine but it was pricey. I paid about $1800 for all the hardware. Then the monthly monitoring fee was about $48. Heres the kicker. I had to sign a 3 year contract. I agreed, no problem. In October of this year, 2013, we had to move out of the Syracuse area for a new job. ADT told me I would owe them for the remainder of the contract UNLESS one of two things happened: The new owners of my old honme in SYR elected to use ADT and signed a service agreement, OR I used ADT in my new home in the Boston area. Fair enough, RIGHT? WRONG! I called them and asked if the new owners of my house in Syracuse had used ADT? Answer no. OK, so I said send someone out to my house and give me a quote on monitoring the alarm here in Boston and I will finish out my 3 years (I used them for little over 15mos in Syracuse on a 36 month deal. They told me that in order to keep from paying $667 dollars in cancellation fees, I woudl have to sign up for 3 MORE YEARS! I saked them what happems if get transfered again in say 2 years. Well, it would be same deal, pay the penalty, or sign up for 3 Years wherever I move (or buyers of my house happen to use ADT) Its a SCAM and a Racket. ADTT costs more per month and if you are not CERTAIN you will be there for the duration of your contarct, you get extended to a NEW contract wherevr you move. (Oh and I used them for about 10 years in Texas... Tough, no room to negotiate) I'm stuck.... Don't let it happen to you!

They didn’t give me the key fobs and apparently they had to install a wireless router. They got me the key fobs, but today I found out that the panel is not working. So I have to call them back today to come out because the key fobs work, but if I couldn’t find my keys when the alarm went off I won’t be able to shut it off by the panel. The service was covered and because the router was more expensive they gave me the router and just charged me the labor. Their pricing was good. I paid $130 for him to come out and put the receiver and around $99 when they first came out as I was transferring it from my old home to my current home. They have always been very professional and I have been very happy with them, though the first one that came out when I had transferred it to this house wasn’t the friendliest, but he did his job. .The second one that came out said he didn’t know why the other one didn’t just put the receiver on since that’s what I wanted and he apologized for him. He was very nice. They come right out; I wasn’t here the first time he was supposed to come, but he still worked me in his schedule and came that same day.
